The gas project was part of an energy deal discussed by U.S. peace envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner during their September visit to the Kremlin, sources told the New York Times.

The attack killed one civilian and injured 14 others, Russian authorities said.

One of the injured victims is an 11-year-old girl. Five wounded individuals are being treated in the hospital, with two in serious condition and undergoing surgery.
