  • No matter what she wears, you can't miss Kim Kardashian.
  • This year, she's worn a mix of high-fashion outfits and confusing looks.
  • The billionaire has seemed especially fond of silk and sparkles throughout 2026.

Every event is a fashion show for Kim Kardashian.

The billionaire Skims founder has turned red-carpet events, F1 races, and strolls through Rome into personal runways throughout 2026.

For some of those occasions, she's worn designer outfits that were both glamorous and eye-catching. Other times, her fashion has been confusing.

These are some of the best and worst looks Kardashian has worn in 2026.

Kim Kardashian proved that no one does shapewear quite like she does at a Skims event in London.

Her Ludovic de Saint Sernin dress was perfectly on theme. It resembled shapewear with a bra-like top, a structured bodice with lace-up detailing, and a mesh, slip-like skirt.

It was also tan to match her skin tone, like many Skims shapewear pieces.

The outfit was a playful nod to Kardashian's brand, yet still glamorous and elevated.

The orange set she wore to the Met Gala was confusing.

Artist Allen Jones custom-made Kardashian's metallic bodysuit, which featured a high neckline and was sculpted to resemble her torso. It also had a leather skirt wrapped around her hips.

Unfortunately, the two pieces clashed and looked incomplete, making for one of her worst Met Gala looks.

She also could have worn a more daring pair of shoes. Her tan pumps would have been better suited to an office look than to the famous ball.

The entrepreneur's more casual looks have been some of her best this year.

Kardashian attended the Monaco Grand Prix in June alongside her sister, Khloe Kardashian.

Photographs of them at the event show the Skims founder wearing blue Gucci jeans with horsebit detailing, black pumps, and a sheer, sleeveless lace top. She also sported chunky black sunglasses.

The outfit was simple yet elevated, and the business mogul looked stunning.

She attended a This Is About Humanity event in Hollywood while wearing a cream-colored sweater that was intentionally unbuttoned over a black, strapless mesh bra.

The outfit also included a tan satin skirt with a mesh lining and strings wrapped around her hips.

The neutral color palette worked for Kardashian, but the disheveled aesthetic did not.

Her fashion was at its best when she attended the Monaco Grand Prix.

On June 7, Kardashian wore a cream-colored gown with a single long sleeve, a form-fitting design, and a backless bodice.

The piece draped beautifully over her body, and its light color was the perfect contrast to her dark accessories: black pumps and plum-tinted sunglasses.

She opted for a vintage gown in October, but it didn't feel authentic.

At the 2026 Academy Museum Gala, Kardashian wore a Balenciaga gown from 1951. It had a pink, ruched neckline, a cream-colored satin skirt, a large bow across the back, and a sheer overlay with lace stripes.

She accessorized with a thick diamond necklace and matching earrings.

The gown was pretty and a piece of fashion history, but its old-school vibe didn't match her usual style. Neither did her short updo.

To support her boyfriend, F1 driver Lewis Hamilton, Kardashian attended the event and was photographed wearing an Alaïa gown.

The halter piece had a triangular bodice with a bikini-style bottom — the latter of which was mostly concealed by a semi-sheer skirt that reached the floor.

It was the perfect mix of daring and casual for the Kardashian family member.

One tweak could have saved her Vanity Fair Oscar party look.

Gucci designed the golden gown Kardashian wore at the event. It had a high neckline, long sleeves, a floor-length skirt, and all-over sparkles.

It wasn't the most memorable fashion moment that she's had all year, but it had potential.

Unfortunately, she wore it with dramatic makeup and a messy hairstyle that completely distracted from the dress.

She was spotted at the end of October wearing a sparkling gown straight off a runway.

The black, white, and silver piece was designed for Erdem's Spring 2027 collection. It had a sleeveless top with cutouts and crystal fringe, as well as a black lace skirt that reached the floor.

The gown was dramatic and memorable, making it one of Kardashian's strongest looks so far in 2026.

17 photos that show how Kelly Clarkson's style has changed since her 'American Idol' days

  • Kelly Clarkson made history when she won "American Idol" in 2002.
  • Since then, America has watched her fashion journey unfold on red carpets and TV shows.
  • She's worn punk-rock looks, glamorous red-carpet gowns, and fun minidresses.

Kelly Clarkson is a national icon.

After winning "American Idol" in 2002, she's remained a household name through her music, children's books, and TV roles. She was also involved in public drama this year when she started feuding with a Brooklyn toy store.

No matter the occasion, though, Clarkson has stood out onstage and across red carpets with her ever-evolving style.

Here's a look at how her fashion has changed over the years.

Kelly Clarkson was the ultimate girl next door when she became a household name in 2002.

Clarkson wore various versions of the fashion staple that year, including at the Billboard Music Awards.

Her strapless dress that night had a knee-length skirt, a bustier bodice, and all-over ruching. She wore it with pointed pumps and long diamond earrings.

And she showed her feminine side in 2004.

For most of her performances in 2005, Clarkson appeared onstage in torn band T-shirts, low-rise jeans, and either sandals or sneakers.

She wore a version of that exact outfit — a Rolling Stones top, low-rise pants, and a studded belt — to perform at the 2005 Wango Tango concert.

For the 2006 Grammy Awards, Clarkson stunned in a black Max Azria gown.

The strapless piece had a form-fitting bodice and full, ruffled skirt, which added unique texture and mirrored the wavy style of her hair.

Normally a fan of gowns, Clarkson began experimenting with minidresses in 2007.

At the 2009 American Music Awards, Clarkson walked the red carpet in a sleeveless CD Greene design.

The knee-length dress had clusters of silver sequins at the top and more embellishments cascading down its bodice and skirt.

She wore the garment with fishnet tights, black pumps, and a crimped red hairstyle.

Clarkson especially seemed to favor the color while promoting her Christmas album "Wrapped in Red."

She wore it during a visit to the SiriusXM Studios via a plaid dress with zipper detailing, a cropped sweater, and studded sandal heels.

By 2015, Clarkson's fashion was full of bold prints.

Her office-ready style included black minidresses, sheer tights, and pointed pumps — just like she wore to appear on "Extra" that year.

Clarkson was also sporting blonde hair in loose waves at that point.

By 2019, Clarkson was having more fun with her red-carpet outfits.

At the "UglyDolls" premiere, Clarkson walked the orange carpet in a hot-pink gown designed by Christian Siriano. It had a floor-length skirt with a short train and giant, puffy sleeves.

The outfit was likely inspired by Moxy, the pink "UglyDolls" character that Clarkson voiced for the film.

In the 2020s, Clarkson has seemingly found her signature style: a mix of glamour and rock 'n' roll.

When Clarkson performed her Las Vegas residency in 2025, she wore a tan gown covered in sparkles and feathers.

It hugged her body from her shoulders to her knees, where the gown was made of mesh and embellished with silver sequins.

Its sleeves and skirt were more dramatic. They puffed out and were covered in rows of feathers, which added texture and shape to the look.

Today, Clarkson's style is simple but elevated.

She completed the outfit with neutral makeup and a wavy hairstyle.

Gen Z loves Sol de Janeiro — so I tried 6 of the brand's most popular fragrances and ranked them from worst to best

24 October 2026 at 17:36

Sol de Janeiro

  • When a member of Gen Z smells good, you can probably thank Sol de Janeiro.
  • I'm a millennial and new to the brand, so I tried six of its popular fragrances.
  • The best scent, in my opinion, is also one of the brand's most underrated.

Millennials had Victoria's Secret and Bath & Body Works. Gen Z has Sol de Janeiro.

The body, hair, and fragrance brand, founded in 2015, has become a major player in the industry. A 2025 fiscal year report from L'Occitane Group, Sol de Janeiro's parent company, said the brand accounted for 31.6% of the group's sales. The report also described Sol de Janeiro as Sephora North America's No. 1 beauty brand and the No. 1 fragrance brand on Amazon US at the time.

Two Sol de Janeiro products have led that charge. First, millennials embraced the $48 Brazilian Bum Bum Cream after it launched in 2015, turning it into a skincare staple.

Tweens and teens have now become obsessed with the $39 Cheirosa perfume mists, the first of which debuted in 2020. The sprays have become a staple of young people's shopping hauls, holiday wish lists, and what's-in-my-bag videos.

The brand confirmed to Business Insider that its three most popular scents are Cheirosa 62, 40, and 68.

I'm a big fragrance fan myself, but I had yet to try the perfume mists. So I went to Ulta Beauty, purchased a $49 sample set of six Sol de Janeiro scents, and tested them on my skin.

Considering each mist's scent, staying power, wearability, and personal preference, here's how I'd rank them from worst to best.

I wish the Cheirosa 71 mist had more depth.

Sol de Janeiro

If there's one thing I love more than fragrances, it's sweet treats — so Cheirosa 71 should have worked for me.

Sol de Janeiro says the scent is inspired by the iconic Confeitaria Colombo bakery in Brazil, with notes of caramelized vanilla, toasted macadamia nut, sea salt, white chocolate, and tonka bean.

When I tried it, the mist smelled more like a gingerbread cookie to me. Then, as it settled, it transformed into something more reminiscent of a graham cracker drizzled with caramel.

Some critics of this scent say it smells like buttered popcorn. I didn't notice that on my skin.

Instead, it reminded me of a holiday hand sanitizer from Bath & Body Works. I can appreciate the scent for a moment, but I don't want it to linger all day. It's too strong and sickly sweet for me.

Cheirosa 62 is Sol de Janeiro's most famous scent, but it's not my favorite.
The Cheirosa 62 perfume mist from Sol de Janeiro.

Sol de Janeiro

I'll be honest. I was never that impressed by Cheirosa 62, the scent made famous by the brand's Brazilian Bum Bum Cream.

Sol de Janeiro describes the fragrance as "irresistible and sunny." It's a nod to Brazil in 1962, when "The Girl from Ipanema" was written.

With notes of pistachio, almonds, heliotrope flower, jasmine petals, vanilla, salted caramel, and sandalwood, Cheirosa 62 is exactly that. I'd describe it as summer in a bottle.

That said, it also makes the fragrance seasonal for me. It just doesn't feel right to wear in the fall, winter, or spring.

I also think the notes lend themselves better to a richer, creamier product, like the Bum Bum cream.

The Cheirosa 39 mist stands out, which I appreciate.

Sol de Janeiro

If any Sol de Janeiro scent smells like buttered popcorn, I think it's this one.

This scent is meant to be beachy, as if you were lounging on a hammock with the breeze in your hair, Sol de Janeiro says. It has notes of coconut cream, toasted vanilla, tropical orchid, sandalwood, and praline.

When I first spray the mist, that combination smells like buttered popcorn on my skin. That's not any reflection of Sol de Janeiro. Perfumes smell different on everyone because of their individual skin chemistry.

But I'm not complaining. I actually like the scent. It's decadent, intriguing, and different than anything else in my fragrance collection.

The coconut and vanilla notes come through more as it settles, with florals peeking through. It takes some time, but it eventually transports me to an island.

So while I might not wear Cheirosa 39 every day, I will add it to my perfume rotation.

I feel fresh, youthful, and like I'm on vacation when I wear Cheirosa 68.
The Cheirosa 68 perfume mist from Sol de Janeiro.

Sol de Janeiro

The Cheirosa 68 scent was inspired by Brazil's Tropicália Movement in 1968, which influenced the country's art, music, and culture.

It includes notes of dragonfruit, lychee essence, Brazilian jasmine, ocean air, hibiscus, vanilla, and musk.

To me, it smells sweet, sunny, and refreshing. I could see myself wearing it to the beach or for a night out with friends.

Considering my current fragrance lineup, I'll probably wear this on occasion when the weather is warmer. If I were a teen in 2026, though, I'd probably wear this Sol de Janeiro scent every day.

Cheirosa 40 reminds me of my favorite scent from Victoria's Secret.
The Cheirosa 40 perfume mist from Sol de Janeiro.
The Cheirosa 40 perfume mist from Sol de Janeiro.

Sol de Janeiro

The famous Carnaval Ball in Rio inspired the Cheirosa 40 perfume mist.

On its website, Sol de Janeiro says it's meant to be sultry and delicate, with notes of black amber plum, crème de cassis, jasmine, Brazilian orchid, vanilla, and musk.

In my experience, each of those notes comes through with a single spray of the fragrance. It's one of the most mature and longest-lasting scents in the lineup I tried.

It also reminds me of my favorite Victoria's Secret scent: Bombshell Intense. Naturally, I have to recommend it to fellow millennials looking to get in on the Sol de Janeiro trend.

I can't get enough of Cheirosa 48.
The Cheirosa 48 perfume mist from Sol de Janeiro.
The Cheirosa 48 perfume mist from Sol de Janeiro.

Sol de Janeiro

Sol de Janeiro says on its website that this scent should be as liberating as the "energy of 1948, when the bikini was first spotted in Brazil."

Liberating is accurate, but I'd also say this scent is exhilarating. Its notes blend guava nectar, coconut water, orchid, lemon, wild orris, pink musk, and vanilla.

Together, they create a fragrance that's as refreshing and exciting as a poolside drink in the summer. Still, the musk notes make it more versatile than a basic summer scent.

Cheirosa 48 is the Sol de Janeiro mist I'll be wearing year-round.
