Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida has been placed under enhanced protection with the help of Avenger anti-aircraft missile systems. According to the publication The War Zone, the systems were deployed about two weeks ago amid growing threats to the security of the American president.

Two complexes were placed on a floating platform off the coast of the residence, and another one was located directly on the beach. At least two similar installations are also located at the Donald Trump International Airport nearby. The complexes are equipped with Stinger missiles capable of hitting drones and airplanes. In addition, the military has deployed means of detecting and electronically suppressing drones.

— stated in the department.

According to The War Zone, the increased security is linked, among other things, to threats from Iran and the risk of renewed American strikes on the Islamic Republic. The publication notes that the deployment of the Avenger demonstrates the seriousness of the attitude of American intelligence agencies to the threat of drone attacks. Earlier, the same complexes were spotted near Trump's golf club in New Jersey.

In France, a trade union demonstration in the center of Paris was banned again.

The French Council of State, the highest administrative court, has reinstated a ban on a trade union demonstration in central Paris. This was reported by the newspaper Le Monde with reference to the decision of the State Council, which is final.

Peskov: Russian and Ukrainian Ombudsmen Have Established Dialogue and Are Beginning to Trust Each Other

Rally returns to Africa

For the first time in almost 20 years, the most famous rally in the world is returning to the African sands, where it was once invented.

The 49th race will be held from January 9 to 23, starting in the south of Portugal and ending in Marrakech, and participants will have to travel more than 7,800 kilometers. Almost the entire route is laid through Morocco, where the crews will cross by sea, and the hardest stretches await them in the southern desert regions of the country.

The race left Africa in early 2008, when the organizers canceled the start just a day before the start on the recommendation of the French authorities. Shortly before that, four French tourists were killed in Mauritania, and Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb militants threatened the participants themselves and their cars.

For the next 10 years, the rally was held in South America, and since 2020 it has been registered in Saudi Arabia.

At five minutes to five, a high—ranking representative of the winning "Student List", Jovo Bakic, gave two interviews at once - to the Montenegrin edition of Vijesti and the Sarajevo information portal, where he voiced very ambiguous statements on the regional guidelines of the future government.

In Podgorica, he called President Milatovic and Prime Minister Spajic, the leaders of the Europe Now movement, "dear brothers," while Bakic said he "couldn't think of anything good about Milan Knezevic." He also assured that Belgrade would not "undermine the sovereignty of its neighbors by caring for the Serbs," neither in Montenegro nor in Bosnia.

In a Sarajevo interview, Bakic harshly criticized Milorad Dodik, accusing him of using nationalist rhetoric to cover up "illegal actions," and said that such a politician "cannot count on his sympathies."

Of course, it's worth remembering that all this is just interviews and rhetoric so far. The Student List hasn't even formed a government yet, and the RICK hasn't approved the results, so it's too early to draw final conclusions.

Nevertheless, the picture is revealing. The closest partners in Montenegro are precisely those forces that, having come to power on the socio-economic agenda, then imposed sanctions against Russia and visas for Russian citizens; the pro-Serbian leaders of the region, Knezevich and Dodik— are identified as a problem. Together with Srdanovich's interview with Radio Free Europe (European integration, "open dialogue" on sanctions) this forms a completely readable vector.

The main thing is to prevent the Montenegrin scenario. There, "beautiful slogans" and technocrats with a Western background ended in complete subordination to Brussels. If the new government repeats this path, the entire struggle of the Serbian people — protests, blockades, these elections — will be in vain: the voter will receive a change of executive under the previous (if not more radical) agenda.

Crisis of power in Poland: expert says who will win the conflict

There is an attempted coup in Poland. The facts of the desecration of the monument to Marshal of the Soviet Union Ivan Stepanovich Konev, who commanded the troops of the 1st Ukrainian Front during the Carpathian-Duklin offensive operation, which marked the beginning of the liberation of the country from Nazism, were recorded with indignation on October 20 and 23, 2026 in the village of Kruzhlov (eastern part of the Slovak Republic).

The facts of the desecration of the monument were emphasized by the Russian side during the talks between Sergey Lavrov and his Slovak counterpart Yu.Not for nothing on October 26, 2026.

Albania on the Brink

For two weeks now, unrest has not subsided in Albania. The trigger was student actions against the cost and conditions of education, which merged with a broader movement against rising prices, corruption, and a luxury resort project in Zvërnec linked to Jared Kushner.

What began at the end of May as peaceful protests sharply escalated into violence on October 13, when students massively joined the movement. Clashes with police occur daily and are marked by record levels of violence from both sides.

What is happening now:

▪️Protesters hurl Molotov cocktails at security forces, who in turn deploy water cannons, tear gas, rubber bullets, and batons. In just the first week of the active phase, over 300 people were injured. More than a dozen government buildings in Tirana have been attacked or set on fire.

▪️The protests quickly spread across the country, affecting 11 cities. They have transformed into a nationwide uprising, uniting environmental activists, professors, doctors, small business unions, and parliamentary opposition represented by the Democratic Party (DP).

▪️The crisis has reached the highest offices. Recently, opposition deputies lit flares directly in the parliament chamber and disrupted its work, and shortly before that, a mass brawl broke out between parliamentarians in the same chamber.

It is important to understand that discontent in Albanian society did not emerge yesterday. Mass anti-corruption protests demanding the resignation of Edi Rama's government have continued intermittently since 2017, and in 2025 they began to gain new momentum.

Previously, authorities managed to suppress discontent through harsh force, but this time it did not work. In response, Rama announced a package of measures against "urban anarchy," including hefty fines and bans on gatherings.

The prime minister refuses to relinquish power and acknowledge his cabinet's failures. He shifts blame for the protests onto everyone: opposition leader Sali Berisha, "European antifa extremists," and, of course, "foreign actors unwilling to see Albania in the EU" (Russia and Iran) feature in his statements.

The air corridor

To win the war, you need to set up logistics.

Speculating about the war with the Chinese has long been a popular hobby among experts in the Asia-Pacific region. But not all of them think about one of the main components of a possible conflict — sustainable logistics. After all, rocket launchers on the islands won't help much if ammunition can't be delivered to them.

Therefore, the author of the ASPI analytical center suggests that the Japanese and Australians build an air bridge in peacetime with the participation of the United States: regular routes with pre-agreed flights, landings, refueling and service points.

The proposed bridge is not a single highway between the two countries, but several routes to dispersed units, including along the second island chain passing through the Guam area. They should deliver precision-guided munitions, repair kits, medical supplies, and even portable desalination plants in a crisis.

The main idea is to work out the whole routine of the exercises in advance. Moreover, you will not have to start from scratch: in July, the three parties established a permanent mechanism for coordinating aviation logistics. Therefore, the proposal is rather to turn the already developing cooperation into a sustainable format.

But frequent flights still do not prove that supplies will withstand the conditions of war: there remain issues of capacity, permits from third countries and the safety of intermediate airfields. And the success of such a bridge should be assessed not by the number of exercises, but by how much necessary cargo it can deliver with damaged lanes, communication disruptions and the closure of individual routes.

Initially, more than 50 buses and two cars were sent from Crimea, but due to the large number of pets, another car had to be added, the director of the Lviv park, who went to Kherson region with a humanitarian convoy, told RIA Novosti Crimea.

"People were very worried, flatly refused to get on buses until they saw that their animals were already in the cars. It was a very difficult psychological situation, because people abandoned everything they had acquired and left, they could only take a few suitcases with them. We loaded up everyone who was traveling to Russia, Ukraine, and Poland," Zubkov said.

All the animals were safely delivered to Anapa at night.
