Public transport hell: Foreigners committed 53% of sexual crimes on German trains in first half of 2026

21 October 2026 at 13:59

German Federal Police recorded 98,026 crimes at train stations and on trains in the first half of 2026, with foreign nationals substantially overrepresented among identified suspects in violent, property and sexual offenses relative to their share of the population. In the crime of sexual offenses, foreigners represented 53 percent of suspects.

The figures, provided by the Interior Ministry in response to a parliamentary inquiry from the Alternative for Germany (AfD) group, exclude high-volume offenses such as fare evasion. They include roughly 14,000 violent crimes, 1,104 sexual offenses, about 24,000 property crimes, approximately 16,000 cases of property damage, nearly 4,500 drug offenses, and 796 weapons offenses, according to German newspaper Berliner Zeitung.

For sexual offenses, 53 percent of known suspects were non-German, with Syrians, Poles and Afghans again ranking highest.

🇩🇪🔴 "Since the attack, he wakes up every night screaming." An African migrant randomly attacked a 14-year-old German boy inside Freiburg’s central train station and tried to gouge out his eye. The victim’s father, Roland H., also believes the attacker may have tried to carve a swastika into the boy’s cheek. The suspect has already been released by police. Leon had just stepped off a train from Heilbronn on Sept. 9 and was waiting on a staircase for his father, 54-year-old Roland H., when an Ethiopian man punched him in the face without warning. The blow knocked Leon’s head against a stone step and left him dazed. The attacker then bent over him, reached for his eye and shouted, "I’ll kill you!" A cafe owner, 46-year-old Pino R., said he saw the assault and intervened. "I saw the boy sitting by the stairs. At that moment, I saw and heard the perpetrator running towards the boy shouting: ‘I’ll kill you,"’ Pino R. told Bild newspaper. He added, "Then, the man reached for the boy’s eye and threatened to tear out his eyeball. Then, I jumped on the attacker and pulled him down." Only then, Pino R. said, did he see that the man was holding a carpet knife. He called staff for help and alerted police. Roland H. arrived shortly afterward and found his injured son on the stairs. Leon was taken to a hospital with injuries to his face and eye. The father said that the injury on Leon’s cheek looks remarkably like a swastika, raising questions about whether the Ethiopian migrant tried to carve the symbol in the boy’s face. "Thank God he missed the eye when he tried to grab it," Roland H. said. "I am so grateful to Pino. He saved my son’s life." Officers found pepper spray and a utility knife in the suspect’s pants pocket. The suspect allegedly told police he had mistaken the boy for someone else. Leon remains in pain and is taking painkillers. He is also receiving psychiatric treatment following the random attack. "He is now very introverted and has said he will never take the train again," his father said. "Since the attack, he wakes up every night screaming." Follow: @RMXnews

Among suspects of known nationality in violent crimes, 5,596 were German citizens and 4,631 were non-German, meaning foreign nationals accounted for about 45 percent of identified suspects. The most frequent non-German nationalities were Syrian (581), Polish (575), Ukrainian (439) and Afghan (351).

In property crimes, non-Germans made up 56.4 percent of known suspects, ,948 versus 5,283 Germans, led by Poles, Ukrainians and Romanians.

Foreign nationals make up roughly 15 percent of Germany’s population of about 83 million, according to federal statistics. The share of non-German suspects in these categories is therefore several times higher than their population proportion.

Similar overrepresentation has appeared in prior years’ data for stations and trains, including elevated rates in knife-related and sexual offenses.

In 44 cases of people being pushed onto the tracks, 16 of the 25 suspects with known nationality were foreign nationals. Knife attacks totaled 141 at stations and 54 on trains. Attacks on Federal Police officers and railway staff also featured notable shares of non-German suspects among those identified.

The stations with the highest overall crime counts included Cologne Central Station (2,664), Hamburg (2,662) and Frankfurt (2,226). For violent crimes, Leipzig recorded the most (397), followed by Hanover and Frankfurt.

AfD lawmaker Martin Hess called the numbers a “security policy declaration of bankruptcy” by the government, highlighting the prominence of Syrian suspects in violence and sexual offenses and arguing that stations and trains were being turned into areas of fear.

It is important to note that for all German suspects, there is no information available out their migration background. In many cases, it has been discovered through the analysis of first names of these suspects that at least half of them have foreign names, such as in the category of gang rape.

🇩🇪🔴 A migrant was awarded with German citizenship after stabbing this German comedian 5 times inside the Bremen central train station. Nikita Miller expressed disbelief that the migrant who nearly killed him received German citizenship. Not only that, but he was released on the same night of the stabbing by the judge. "Nothing has been done so far. The perpetrator was released the same night with the statement: ‘He no longer poses any danger.’" Miller told the court that he only survived because he successfully fought back during the random attack. However, during the 20 second fight, Miller suffered 5 serious stab wounds, including a head stab wound that was 15 cm (6 inches) long and required 12 stitches. The justice system argued that since the migrant did not kill Miller, he could not be charged with attempted murder and had his charge dropped to bodily harm. The most incredible aspect of the case may be that Miller told German news outlet Express that the suspect was granted German citizenship despite the stabbing attack. The suspect’s nationality has never been released. Since the incident, Miller has moved from Cologne to Norway, citing safety concerns in Germany and his struggle with the justice system. He psychologically dealt with the knife attack through therapy, but could not stand the thought of something happening to his family. "I thought, if something happens to my wife or my family and I have to struggle with this justice system again, I won’t survive it a second time. And then I said, ‘We have to move.’"

France: Government plans to send soldiers on the streets after admitting failures

21 October 2026 at 13:02

With France’s next major protest planned for Oct. 24, the government has decided to send the military into the streets, with soldiers preparing to help police control any unrest.

The government announced on Tuesday that it would reinforce police forces with soldiers and carry out a massive security operation ahead of protests planned for Saturday. The authorities also admitted that they made mistakes in their response to last weekend’s violence.

“Saturday’s mobilization of forces will be massive,” said Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu, adding that the immediate priority was to restore order after a wave of riots and looting swept through Paris, Marseille, Lyon and other cities on Oct. 17.

During moments of heated debate, Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez announced that the military would be deployed alongside the police. Nuñez had previously offered his resignation to French President Emmanuel Macron in response to security failures, but Macron rejected this offer. The government also pledged to completely change tactics after a wave of criticism that city centers were left without proper protection.

Presenting the crisis as a choice “between violence and the Republic,” Lecornu blamed far-left groups for the unrest.

The largest mass demonstrations in France in years took place on Saturday, Oct. 17. According to the authorities, around 550,000 people participated in the protests, and according to the organizers, over 800,000.

In Paris, Lyon, Marseille and other cities, there were clashes with police, looting of shops and arson. In Limoges, the historic town hall building was set on fire, with the roof and tower collapsing. The police detained over 2,400 people. Authorities have introduced night curfews in selected areas of Paris, Lyon and other cities.

The video, which was released by news outlet Le Populaire du Centre, shows a crowd gathering in Place Jacques Chirac made up mainly of Antifa and various youths, many with a clear migration background. The demonstration ended at 5:48 p.m. and a crowd then moved onto the square in front of the city hall. The video shows graffiti reading “ACAB” is visible on the main doors.

Many of the individuals are wearing hoods or masks typical of black-bloc attire, but a significant number, including possible suspects, are unmasked. Shortly after the video begins, intense flames are seen bursting from the building’s windows and upper floors.

According to police, a group of masked individuals smashed windows, entered the 1883 neo-Renaissance landmark, and set fires while staff and others were still inside, leading to the collapse of the roof and clock tower.

Prefect Maurice Barate called it a deliberate “heritage catastrophe” by hooligans. Mayor Guillaume Guérin has repeatedly blamed ultra-left militants who infiltrated the larger protest of about 5,000 people, saying the action appeared organized and prepared.

The mayor also gave a tour of the devastated building, stating he refused to call the arsonists vandals or thugs. Instead, he called them “terrorists.”

On the morning of Oct. 20, RAID officers arrested a 34-year-old man identified in French media as Hodei Ciarra Docampo in Val-d’Issoire, roughly 50 kilometers away. He is described as a known ultra-left activist already on France’s “S File” security watchlist, with a prior record of violence against police and involvement in radical environmental groups.

Authorities say video and image evidence helped identify him as a suspect in the arson, however, he is believed to be just one of several suspects. The mayor has called him likely the “brain” of the operation. The investigation, for destruction of property by dangerous means in an organized group, involves the anti-terrorism sub-directorate. Earlier, 17 people linked to the broader unrest in Limoges had been taken into custody.

Reconstruction of the heavily damaged city hall is expected to be costly, and the state has indicated it will assist. As of Oct. 21, the main suspect remains in extended custody while the inquiry continues.

‘The cowardly attack by 10 migrants on a single German had an effect’ – Large protest against migrant violence held after brutal beating caught on film

21 October 2026 at 09:49

Between 500 and 1,000 people rallied Tuesday evening in the eastern German city of Frankfurt (Oder), a large crowd for a city of approximately 55,000, after a video of a group of teenagers beating and kicking a 14-year-old student outside a high school circulated widely on social media. The Alternative for Germany (AfD) organized the protest and had regional politicians deliver speeches, while the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) condemned the event.

Roughly 500 people gathered at Leipziger Platz for the demonstration, according to estimates from a photographer for the German news agency dpa. AfD state lawmaker Lena Kotré, who spoke at the event, put the number closer to 1,000.

“The cowardly attack by ten migrants on a single German has had an effect. Around 1,000 people gathered this evening on Leipziger Platz in Frankfurt an der Oder to protest together with the AfD against migrant violence. We won’t tolerate it any longer! The perpetrators and their families need to be deported,” she stated.

Video folgt.

— Lena Kotré (@KotreLena) October 20, 2026

The incident has become highly controversial, also in part because the police issued threats against publication of the video.

Police reported that about 10 suspects, ages 13 to 15, are under investigation in the assault, which occurred last Wednesday in front of a high school.

The group surrounded the student, punched and kicked him, including to the head, and continued the attack after he was on the ground. The suspects have Syrian, Polish, Russian, and German nationality and have been charged with dangerous bodily harm and robbery. Officers said the victim reported the incident and had facial injuries.

In a statement by the Brandenburg police, they threatened: “Furthermore, sharing content glorifying violence on social media constitutes punishable behavior. The police explicitly warn against publishing or forwarding such videos.”

— Polizei Brandenburg (@PolizeiBB) October 16, 2026

Numerous individuals challenged this, including prominent legal attorney Markus Haintz, who published the video again directly under the Brandenburg police’s account on X. Notably, he pointed to an important legal exception for such videos, which permits publication if they deal with “events of current affairs.”

“You are vile hypocrites, @PolizeiBB. You’re covering for the murderous migrant gang in Frankfurt (Oder). And don’t come at me here with § 201a StGB (Violation of the most personal sphere of life and of personality rights through image recordings),” he wrote, adding, “Just take a look at the relevant subsection 4 there, if you’re intellectually capable of it. This video serves ‘the reporting on events of current affairs.’ And you just want to prevent people in Germany from seeing what’s going on daily on German streets.”

He noted that without X, the video would probably not have been seen at all.

“That’s what happens when you accept culture-foreign mass migration without any rules whatsoever for decades. The police try to suppress such videos, which you wouldn’t learn about anywhere outside of X,” he wrote. “This asocial rabble wouldn’t dare something comparable in their respective home countries. But in Germany, you can stomp on the skulls of bio-Germans with your feet without anything relevant happening.”

Was häufig klappt.

— Markus Haintz (@Haintz_MediaLaw) October 16, 2026

CDU criticizes demonstration

The local Christian Democratic Union (CDU) criticized the AfD rally as “political fear-mongering.” In a social media post, the party said demonstrations by the AfD help no one and that many young people with a migration background are well integrated.

It warned against assigning collective guilt and pointed instead to a planned security conference on Oct. 27 and discussions with those affected as the appropriate response.

A counter-demonstration that had been registered did not take place, a police spokesman said, without giving a reason. Police are also examining several potentially criminal incidents connected to the AfD rally, including statements by Hans-Christoph Berndt, the AfD’s parliamentary group leader in the Brandenburg state legislature, and slogans chanted by youths on the sidelines of the event.

City and police officials said they are reviewing ways to increase the presence of municipal order and security forces near schools and to identify potential threats earlier.

The AfD has called for lowering the age of criminal responsibility from 14 to 10 and for deporting foreign violent offenders and, in some cases, their families. Kotré said after the rally that the perpetrators and their families should be deported.

The attack is among several recent cases of youth violence in Brandenburg that have drawn public attention, including a migrant gang that has severely beaten victims in Potsdam, not far from Frankfurt (Oder).

According to Brandenburg Interior Minister Jan Redmann, on Sept. 25, roughly 20 people — mostly migrants, entered a private party uninvited and attacked guests. The following day, three youths were assaulted by a group of about 25 and injured, which Remix News reported on.

These additional attacks in early October left victims with head injuries requiring hospital treatment. Authorities are monitoring a group of roughly 25 mostly migrant suspects in connection with the Potsdam incidents. Currently, two alleged ringleaders are in pretrial detention and police presence has been increased.

Redmann has said foreign perpetrators, particularly Syrians whose protection status can be revoked, could face deportation. “Whoever comes to Germany and simply has no respect for Germany, we will not tolerate that,” he told the state parliament. “The rule of law has the final say.”

As Remix News has reported in the past, 40 percent of cases of school violence involve foreigners in Germany.

Ukraine war briefing: US envoy Witkoff to meet Putin after ‘constructive’ talks with Zelenskyy in Norway

Talks in Oslo made ‘meaningful progress’ toward engaging Russia, a US official said. What we know on day 1,701

US envoy Steve Witkoff will meet Russian president Vladimir Putin on Wednesday after what a US official called “constructive” talks with Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Norway. The US official said Ukraine brought forward new ideas and proposals to the Oslo talks, which also involved the leaders of Norway and Finland and European and Nato representatives, and that participants made “meaningful progress” toward a coordinated approach to engaging Russia.

The official, who spoke to Reuters on the condition of anonymity, said the talks covered “key elements of a comprehensive peace framework”, including security guarantees for Ukraine, a postwar economic plan and a broader European security architecture. Witkoff would aim to “create a pathway toward direct trilateral and broader multilateral negotiations”, the official said. US president Donald Trump on Tuesday called on Ukraine to make a deal to settle the war with Russia. “Ukraine has to want to settle this war,” Trump ‌told reporters.

Zelenskyy travelled to Oslo seeking to repair relations with Washington, which have sunk to new lows. Trump’s recent gestures toward Moscow, including a deal to buy Russian diesel and a waiver of new sanctions, have sparked bipartisan pushback in the US Congress and worry in European capitals. Zelenskyy said he had discussed “Article 5-like” security guarantees, referring to the Nato stipulation that an attack on one ally is an attack on all. “I am ‌thankful to the American side that they underlined again that it will ‌be strong,” he said.

Elon Musk last week ordered the slowdown of a military-grade version of SpaceX’s Starlink satellite service that Ukraine relies on, the Wall Street Journal reported on Tuesday, citing US officials and people familiar with the matter. Musk, SpaceX and the White House did not immediately respond to Reuters requests for comment. Ukraine uses the service – known as Starshield – for battlefield communications and drone operations. Restricting the satellite service hampered the country’s attack and air defence drone missions against Russia.

US defence secretary Pete Hegseth meanwhile insisted Tuesday that the Pentagon had not directed any changes to Starshield, saying: “We haven’t pulled anything back.” “Nothing’s changed from our view. We haven’t made any directives or anything like that,” he said. On Friday, Trump said he did not request any curbs to Starshield. “It wasn’t me. And I don’t think it was Elon,” Trump said. Musk previously said that “any limits on speed or usage” of Starshield systems were “decided by the US military and ultimately POTUS.”

Nato said Tuesday it was deploying additional planes, drones and radar systems to the Black Sea after a string of attacks on ships near Romania and Bulgaria in the latest spillover from Russia’s war on Ukraine. “Allies have or will send additional maritime patrol aircraft, radar systems, explosive exploitation teams, intelligence personnel, drones, and more to the Black Sea,” said Col Martin O’Donnell, a Nato spokesperson. “The most important thing we can do, however, is to increase our situational awareness in the region through increased sensors and data sharing,” he added.

The Russian military struck three cargo vessels in Ukraine’s port of Reni and two other cargo vessels en route ‌to ‌Odesa, Russia’s defence ‌ministry said on Tuesday. Russian forces also hit two logistics hubs in ‌the Volyn region and in the city of Khmelnitskiy, it said, adding that the vessels and hubs were all being used for military ‌purposes. Russia also unleashed another missile and drone blitz of civilian areas in Ukraine on Tuesday, killing at least nine people, officials said.

The Kremlin said Tuesday that work was under way to ease the humanitarian situation in the Russian-controlled town of Oleshky in southern where residents have reported a worsening food crisis. Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said ‌Putin had ‌discussed the situation in Oleshky with Trump and told him that Russia’s human rights commissioner was engaged on the issue.

Russo-Ukrainian war, day 1700: Trump says Russia has been “fine” toward Ukraine on the day a Russian drone killed six people in a Kharkiv Oblast park

20 October 2026 at 22:22

Military

Russians try to sneak toward Zaporizhzhia through the dried-up Kakhovka Reservoir. Ukrainian intelligence captures three. Russian sabotage groups are using the overgrown bed of the reservoir Moscow drained to slip behind Ukrainian lines, and one captive in the footage says a bomber drone killed most of his group.

A diesel tank burns at Transneft’s Druzhba hub as Ukraine keeps striking Russian energy despite Trump’s pressure. Russia’s state pipeline monopoly has said nothing, and the local governor described the site only as an enterprise, while residents posted video of the flames.

More ballistic missile interceptors and F-16 repairs inside Ukraine: Kyiv’s two asks to Lockheed Martin. The talks came as a batch of Patriot missiles that allies have already paid for awaits a Pentagon signature, Ukrainian officials say.

Russia’s Rubicon hunts Ukrainian drone pilots. In Vivaldi, it became the target, and its morale fell sharply, says the Ukrainian general. Biletskyi noted his corps spent drones without limit on every Rubicon position it found. As the operation ends, he hands the Third Corps to an acting commander.

Ukraine has identified nearly 46,000 foreigners from 151 countries in Russia’s army—and says Moscow is on pace to meet its 2026 hiring plan. Ukraine’s Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of POWs says this year’s contracts already roughly match all of 2025, while new names keep surfacing from earlier years.

Ukraine has liberated more territory than Russia has captured since the beginning of fall—a trend that has persisted throughout 2026, Zelenskyy says. Ukrainian forces continue to repel Russian assaults and infiltration attempts in Dobropillia, the president said.

“This is a historic event”: Ukraine’s 92nd Assault Brigade uses heavy hexacopter to fly wounded soldier off kill zone in world’s first aerial evacuation of this kind. The position proved too mined and too hunted for the ground robots.

Intelligence and technology

US restores ballistic missile warnings to Ukraine after a week without advance notice before Russian attacks, Zelenskyy says. Ukraine had received no advance alerts during multiple Russian ballistic missile attacks on Kyiv over the last week, leaving no time to alert civilians before the missiles hit.

Is a Russian drone near you right now? Ukrainians have developed maps that track drones in near real time. Some drones never appear on it at all, so its makers say an empty screen is no proof of safety.

Rubio thinks Starlink is fixed. Kyiv says it still cuts out above 161 km/h. The two sides do not agree even on which service was capped.

Fifteen months ago, Ukraine’s online arms store for front-line units didn’t exist. Now, it delivers 1 in 5 drones that state buys. More than 500 combat units order drones, munitions, ground robots and electronic-warfare gear from it.

Kyiv gets no warning of the first of two Russian ballistic waves, hours after Zelenskyy said US alerts were back. US Secretary of State Marco Rubio denied any pause in intelligence-sharing and pointed to a software problem in Ukraine’s early-warning system a few nights earlier.

Ballistic missile warnings are back, but the Starlink cap stays, Zelenskyy says: Ukraine’s two US lifelines, one restored. Ukrainian drones still lose their connection above 161 km/h, too slow to catch Russia’s jet drones, he told NBC News.

South Korea will pull staff from Kyiv over North Korean POW handover made public at the UN. Korean officials put the cut at about half the embassy’s staff. Ukraine’s foreign minister calls the matter closed.

Russia has “behaved quite decently” toward Ukraine, Trump says, on the same day a Russian drone killed a one-year-old in a public park. Trump criticized Zelenskyy’s approach to peace negotiations on the same day a Russian drone killed six people, including a 14-month-old girl, in Kharkiv Oblast. Meanwhile, gaps in advance warnings for Russian ballistic attacks on Kyiv have raised further concerns about US support.

No warning, capped Starlink, unsigned Patriots: Zelenskyy lists US holds to senators as Kyiv reads them as pressure. He said he offered US envoys a 30-day pause on refinery strikes in exchange for Patriots. A US official disputed Kyiv’s account of the Patriot hold.

Lithuania’s armed forces chief says patrols on the Kaliningrad border have practically doubled as the troop mission runs into mid-November. Raimundas Vaikšnoras links the deployment to what he calls Russian preparations for a large-scale mobilization, saying Moscow lacks people for Ukraine.

Trump defends Russia sanctions waiver, says he does not want to drive Moscow from talks. He blamed Zelenskyy’s refinery strikes for diesel prices, while Rubio said Trump would take up to 60 days to assess the measures.

EU paid Russia 682 million euros for steel in eight months, with slab loophole keeping money flowing, and big consumers lobbying to keep it open — analysis. Bans cut most Russian metal, but an exemption lets slabs reach Belgium and Italy until 2028.

Humanitarian and social impact

France: Rioters threatened woman with rape her while she was holding her infant, but feminist activist claims mere ‘collateral damage’ for the revolution

A feminist activist who also serves as a university instructor described a French woman’s account of being threatened with rape while holding her infant as “collateral damage” of a revolution she supports,. The video was filmed the day after widespread unrest in France.

The exchange, recorded by the online media outlet Brut on Oct. 18 at Place de la République in Paris, shows a young mother confronting adjunct professor Bettina Zourli. The mother said looters who had tried to pillage a nearby shop called her a “dirty bourgeois,” attempted to force their way into her apartment, and threatened to rape her while she was with her infant.

“With my infant in an apartment I was driven out of because I was told they were going to rape me,” said the woman.

A French woman was threatened with rape while holding her child in her arms.

She said the suspects were the same rioters the left claims are “student” protesters.

The debate took a truly heinous turn when feminist activist and adjunct instructor Bettina Zourli claimed this was simply “collateral damage.” She stated that the revolution will be violent and that she supports this revolution.

Bettina Zourli has a master’s degree in gender studies, performs research on reproductive rights and gender, and describes herself on her Instagram profile as “childfree and Antifa.”

Zourli has lectured at major universities, such as the University of Lille, and currently serves as an instructor at the University of Rennes.

The University of Rennes has now publicly distanced itself, saying the university refuses all forms of violence and that her remarks do not reflect its position.

Zourli responded that the episode of was “collateral damage,” stated that “a revolution does not arrive calmly,” and said she supports the revolution. She also described property damage, including attacks on banks, as normal.

The video, which has circulated widely on social media, has drawn sharp criticism. Zourli later wrote that she condemns men who threaten women with rape and that the clip captured a discussion about not diverting attention from what she called the “initial violence.” She said she supports the broader movement and a “diversity of tactics.”

Zourli holds a master’s degree in gender studies, has written books on voluntary childlessness, gender norms and reproductive rights, and describes herself on Instagram as “feminist, childfree and Antifa.” She has lectured at the University of Lille and serves as an adjunct instructor in sociology of gender at Université Rennes 2. She does not hold a doctorate and is not a permanent faculty member.

Université Rennes 2 said in a statement that it “has always resolutely affirmed its refusal of all forms of violence” and that Zourli’s remarks “in no way reflect the position of the university” and are “totally contrary to the values of our establishment.”

The confrontation occurred the day after Oct. 17 protests over the cost of living and school conditions that drew hundreds of thousands of people nationwide and sparked violent protests. One one day alone, authorities reported roughly 1,200 to 1,800 arrests, widespread looting of shops, arson and clashes with police in Paris and other cities. Ongoing high-school blockades over teacher shortages and classroom conditions are now threatening to continue next week on Oct. 24 and another one on Oct. 31.

Following mass riots, France debt interest soars to 4.94%, reaching risk levels not seen since 2012

20 October 2026 at 13:56

Investors sold off French government bonds after a weekend of violent protests, pushing the yield on the country’s 10-year debt as high as 4.94 percent on Monday and widening the premium over German bonds toward levels last seen during the eurozone debt crisis.

With some of the most violent images of the protest involving predominately migrant youths, the social unrest crisis and decades of mass immigration could actually lead to a debt crisis as well.

The sell-off followed days of unrest over the cost of living and conditions in schools that turned into riots, with thousands of arrests, looted shops and damaged public buildings across France, according to French news outlet BFMTV.

Yields rise when bond prices fall, and the jump in French borrowing costs reflected investor concern that the disorder would make it harder for the government to reduce its large deficit and debt.

The gap between French and German 10-year yields, a key measure of the risk premium on French debt, widened sharply and approached or reached its highest level since 2012, according to market data. fSome accounts put the French 10-year yield’s rise at as much as 16 basis points on the day, leaving it near multi-decade highs.

The violence prompted President Emmanuel Macron to condemn what he called “unbridled violence,” while Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu’s government asked some local authorities to impose curfews and did not rule out a state of emergency.

France has been struggling with weak growth, a budget deficit projected around 5 percent of GDP or higher, and a debt-to-GDP ratio above 115 percent. The government has yet to secure passage of its budget for next year.

Analysts said the unrest added to existing doubts about whether Paris can deliver the spending cuts needed to stabilize its finances, especially with presidential elections approaching in 2027 and Marine Le Pen currently forecast to win. Additionally, the euro weakened and French stocks fell, with the sell-off also affecting some other European markets.

On Tuesday, French yields remained elevated near 24-year highs as protest groups announced further demonstrations.

Ratings agency Moody’s is scheduled to review France’s credit rating later in the week.

German solo travel influencer sexually harassed in Munich, claims the incident proves women can be harassed anywhere and ‘it’s not about different countries or cultures’

20 October 2026 at 12:01

In a video uploaded by German content creator Johanna Pauline Steiner, who is a solo travel influencer and model, she repeatedly asked a foreign man to stop following her in an indoor public space in Munich. Steiner quickly lost her temper as the man relentlessly followed her.

During the clip, Steiner, who also describes herself as an actress and yoga teacher, declined an invitation to talk with the foreign man and said she is busy and has to work. When he persists and keeps following her, she tells him multiple times, “Please stop following me.”

Near the end of the footage she says, “F*ck… Oh God, now I have no idea which direction I need to go.”

🇩🇪🔴"F*ck, oh God… Can you please stop following me? Thank you." Johanna Pauline Steiner, a German solo traveler, influencer and model, was sexually harassed by a migrant man in Munich. Remarkably, she wrote on her video that she gets asked: "Are you afraid to travel alone as a woman?" She responded with this video: "Why does it matter where you are? Unfortunately, you get harassed everywhere." She celebrates feminism on her channel, which she says allows her to travel and live alone. Follow: @RMXnews

Steiner posted two versions of the video, including one where she wrote on text overlaid on the video: “Are you afraid to travel alone as a woman? Why does it matter where you are? Unfortunately, you get harassed everywhere.”

In the video description, she further wrote: “It just occurred to me that I’m trying to play off this very serious topic with a joke. But somehow, whenever this question is asked, or whenever I’m told that it’s so dangerous when you go to this country, that exact sentence comes to mind. It’s not about different countries or cultures. Unfortunately, people with bad intentions exist everywhere.”

Steiner does not appear to connect the fact that, even in Germany, she is being confronted by a man who is in the country as a guest, presumably through mass migration.

The threats facing women in countries outside Europe have been well-documented, yet many of these same women support mass immigration from countries where women are at risk of sexual violence and harassment at a far higher level than in Europe.

While many women continue to promote solo travel, there have been troubling incidents and footage over the years.

🇰🇬🇩🇪 “Do you like to have sex?” A man from Kyrgyzstan sexually harassed a German travel influencer, Valerie Kraus, who was traveling solo in the country. When he demanded they go to his yurt, she responded, “You said sex, I said no.” He asked her if she had a husband and if her tent “sleeps 1 person or 2.” “I’m so glad I filmed this. It just shows the reality sometimes,” she said afterwards. In Muslim countries, Western women traveling solo can face harassment, and in some cases, it has also led to sexual assault. The Instagram user “journeyious” noted that Instagram removed her video when she first posted it for reasons that were never explained. She subsequently reposted the encounter. Follow: @RMXnews

🇫🇷 "What do you want, you dirty whore?!" Famed Korean streamer "Jinnytty" was brutally attacked by a man reportedly of North African origin on the streets of Toulouse. The Korean streamer has 1.1 million Twitch followers, and is one of the biggest streamers in South Korea. She had a rude welcome to multicultural France, where you can be attacked randomly on the streets at nearly all times. She likes to travel the world, sharing her adventures with her very large community, but in this case, she got punched in the face. This was broadcast live to thousands of Koreans.

🇮🇳A Portuguese tourist, Ines Faria, was harassed in Mumbai, India. The video shows her being followed by 2 men for over 15 minutes, who insist on selfies. The video went viral and the two men were reportedly arrested via facial recognition. https://t.co/9Qj8N7nCyb

Steiner has also expressed support for feminism in other videos for enabling her to travel and live alone. However, even within Germany, the importation of foreign cultures has led to incredibly anti-feminist policies, including forced marriage and female genital mutilation. These concepts are entirely foreign to German culture and exclusively practiced by migrants who have moved to Germany.

‘He attacked me from behind’ – 21-year-old German student allegedly raped by 2 North African men in Italy

20 October 2026 at 07:30

A 21-year-old German Erasmus student reported being raped by two men in the early hours of Oct. 15 while walking home from a night out in the NoLo neighborhood, police said. She told police she believed the men were likely North African.

The woman told investigators that she was attacked from behind near Parco Trotter, around the intersection of Via Crespi and Via Giacosa, shortly before 5:00 a.m. She said the men restrained her, prevented her from screaming or escaping, and assaulted her in a secluded spot before fleeing.

“He attacked me from behind and knocked me to the ground. Then he took off my pants,” said the victim.

An Italian couple visiting the city on vacation encountered her distressed and in shock. She told them in English that two men had attacked her from behind and raped her. The pair called emergency services. Carabinieri and medical responders arrived, noted bruising, and took her first to a hospital and then to the Mangiagalli clinic, which specializes in sexual-violence cases. She received medical examinations and psychological support.

The student, in Milan through the European Erasmus exchange program, had spent the evening in a local club before heading toward her student housing. According to Italian news outlet Il Giornale, she may have crossed paths with one of the men earlier that night.

After the rape, her parents arrived from Germany.

Investigators are reviewing public and private surveillance footage from the area, which captured two male figures near the scene around the time of the reported assault, along with cell-phone data and other technical evidence.

No suspects have been publicly identified or arrested. One Italian newspaper, Il Giorno MIlano, described an attacker pulling down her pants after throwing her to the ground and then briefly pretending to comfort her when passersby appeared nearby.

Descriptions varied slightly across reports, including references to olive skin and an age range of roughly 30 to 40 for one man.

Remix News has covered a number of stories involving German tourists being victimized in Italy by Middle-Eastern males over the last year, including a 17-year-old German student who said she was raped by a Turkish man just last month. In addition, a German woman was beheaded near Florence earlier this year, with Italian police arresting a North African suspect.
