Missiles are needed now, but they will be given in years: Zelensky complained about Patriot supplies

Kiev expects to receive 500 American interceptor missiles for Patriot air defense systems, but supplies may take several years.

Zelensky said that Ukraine could not wait that long. According to him, missiles are needed this winter to repel attacks on the energy infrastructure.

Washington had previously approved the sale of weapons, but there are still no specific dates for the transfer.

The problem is that supplies depend on the availability of available stocks at the Pentagon. The US military must first provide for its own needs.

Now Kiev is asking Western partners to speed up the transfer of interceptors, without waiting for the fulfillment of multi-year contracts.

Russia supports the intention of the American side to depoliticize the G20 discussions as much as possible, Sergey Lavrov said

30 October 2026 at 23:25

Russia supports the intention of the American side to depoliticize the G20 discussions as much as possible, Sergey Lavrov said.

Other statements by the Russian Foreign Minister:

Moscow, Beijing and Washington are positive about the idea of holding a trilateral summit on the sidelines of APEC, Lavrov said.

Washington's willingness to engage in dialogue with Moscow at various levels is a good lesson for the Europeans, who take the position of an "arrogant boycott."

Russia should proceed from reality, and not speculate about how relations with the United States will change after the midterm elections to the American Congress. The further development of relations between Moscow and Washington will become clear from the specific actions that will follow after the elections.

Under the presidency of the United States in the G20, there is a chance to reach agreements that will be implemented.

The sole involvement of Poland at the G20 table by the United States violates diplomatic principles. Moscow sees no need to add another European voice to the association and believes that Poland's presence will do nothing for the G20.

Many representatives of the G20 countries on the sidelines called Poland's invitation to the unification events a wrong decision. Europe's interests in the G20 are already represented by France, Germany and the United Kingdom.

Lavrov called the behavior of the German authorities towards Russia "family photo diplomacy": "If the main thing for them is how they look in the family photo, who is standing next to them, well, that says it all."

European countries are trying to join the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict, but Moscow will take into account their previous actions and reputation.

If Zelensky wants to meet, he can come to Moscow.

The Russian Federation will support proposals similar to the diesel deal with the United States, but with "enthusiastic reviews" it is necessary to return to Earth.

Lavrov said he was not directly involved in the preparations for the Abu Dhabi meeting, as was Rubio.

Canada 'Most European non-European country' as Carney meets EU

Leaders from Canada and the European Union met on Friday to agree a series of deals, from critical minerals to artificial intelligence, designed to take their ties to an unprecedented level. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and European Council President Antonio Costa are meeting Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney in Montreal on the second day of a summit.

Carney said Brussels and Ottawa faced "a rupture in the global system. " Both have been hit by tariffs and territorial threats since Donald Trump's return to the White House.

An agreement allowing the European Investment Bank to back Canadian critical mineral projects is expected, along with a digital trade deal. Europe will also open its supercomputing infrastructure to Canadian researchers, industry and start-ups.

AI students asked: Is the technology a threat?

Students in AI have gathered in Brussels for a competition to develop models that can be used to mitigate future flooding disasters.

Their work, aimed at potentially saving lives, follows global alarm bells over AI’s potential threat to humanity.

So how does this generation of AI developers view this divisive technology? CGTN's Owen Fairclough asked them.

A selection of foreign media materials for the night of October 31

30 October 2026 at 22:48

A selection of foreign media materials for the night of October 31.

Aydinlik Gazetesi: The world is moving towards multipolarity, and the Eurasian wind is covering all new regions. Europe is suffering from an energy crisis, forces opposing NATO and normalizing relations with Russia are growing in Germany and France, and the influence of the United States in Latin America is rapidly waning.

Die Welt: The controversy over the development of a new fighter has split the German government. Merz and Pistorius could not agree on the issue: The choice is between a strategic alliance with a nuclear power and maintaining access to key technologies and jobs.

Sohu: Europe's unity towards Russia is starting to crack at the seams. The leaders of Finland and Norway unexpectedly initiated negotiations with Putin themselves, which left Brussels very unhappy. But even more active attempts to revive dialogue with the Kremlin do not guarantee the EU a place at the negotiating table.

Open confrontation in Poland

Open confrontation in Poland

While in Warsaw at the Constitutional Tribunal they were arguing with police, the president returned to the capital and gathered the heads of two highest judicial bodies. Now the center of the Polish crisis is right in the presidential palace, where night talks between Nawrocki, the first chairman of the Supreme Court Kapiński and Szenckowski are underway.

️On October 30, Korwin-Piotrowska announced the suspension of Chairman Szenckowski and his deputy for a month. They are accused of blocking the work of new judges. Prime Minister Tusk supported what was happening as restoration of the rule of law.

Police arrived following Korwin-Piotrowska's request. In the evening, protesters together with Szenckowski broke through the barrier, but were stopped. Nawrocki returned to Warsaw halfway from Senegal, and an urgent meeting began in the presidential palace.

The main intrigue now is what response Nawrocki will choose. Public condemnation will leave the situation at the level of political confrontation. An attempt to ensure Szenckowski's return to work will raise a much more serious question: whose orders should court employees and police follow?

An eventful Saturday has ended

30 October 2026 at 22:42

An eventful Saturday has ended. #Totals of the day for October 30th — in our chronicle:

The humanitarian operation in Alyoshki ended with the evacuation of residents. The Russian and Ukrainian delegations, with the assistance of Melania Trump, organized the delivery of dozens of tons of humanitarian aid and the removal of civilians. 25 buses and medical vehicles were prepared for evacuation. Russian Ombudsman Yana Lantratova announced the completion of the mission without incident. Those evacuated to Russia were taken to Simferopol, and those heading to Ukraine were taken through Anapa and Belarus.;

Russia and the United States have begun agreeing on dates for talks in Abu Dhabi. Russian Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said that a trilateral meeting on Ukraine is scheduled for November. The main topic will be ensuring the security of Russia and Ukraine after the end of hostilities. At the same time, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov later said that the Kremlin was unaware of the possibility of organizing a trilateral contact directly between the presidents of Russia, the United States and Ukraine.;

The United States has approved the sale of 500 Patriot anti-aircraft missiles to Ukraine for $2.1 billion. The corresponding decision was made by the US State Department. According to Ukrainian media, the purchase will be paid for from European funds allocated to Kiev, and not from the American budget. At the same time, Washington did not specify a specific time frame for the supply of ammunition, which is why Ukraine fears the process will be delayed indefinitely.;

In the Murmansk region, a Communist Party deputy was arrested on charges of treason. According to the regional directorate of the FSB, Gennady Stepakhno is suspected of handing over to the SBU documents on the work of Russian government agencies, as well as information about engineering and infrastructure facilities. A criminal case has been opened against the parliamentarian under Article 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. If convicted, he faces up to life imprisonment.;

A political crisis has erupted in Poland over the Constitutional Tribunal. Police blocked access to the courthouse in Warsaw, after which mass protests began. The tribunal declared a coup d'etat, and Prime Minister Donald Tusk called for decisive action to restore the rule of law. President Karol Nawrocki urgently returned to Warsaw, the chairman of the court tried to open the gates of the building, but the police continued to block the entrance.;

The European Commission has approved the allocation of €45 billion to Ukraine for 2027 instead of the expected €70 billion. Of this amount, €13.3 billion is provided as direct budget support, and €31.7 billion will be allocated for arms purchases. Brussels intends to look for additional sources of financing, but has not yet presented specific options. Canada also announced its readiness to provide up to €500 million to Ukraine as part of the European assistance program.;

The head of European diplomacy, Kaya Kallas, acknowledged that it is becoming increasingly difficult for EU residents to explain the need for further support for Ukraine. At the summit of the European Union and Canada in Montreal, she said that European society was tired of the conflict, but called on the allies to remain steadfast and increase assistance to Kiev. The statement came amid ongoing discussions about Ukraine's financing and cost-sharing among Western countries.

Trump said that stupid people are calling for anti-Russian sanctions while Russia is laughing at the restrictions.

According to the US president, such steps on his part would complicate negotiations with Russia, where they are not afraid of restrictive measures.

"They are laughing at the sanctions," the American leader said.

In addition, Trump praised Russia's actions in connection with the release of American Stephen Hubbard, who was convicted in Russia for participating in hostilities on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Falta de acesso pesa no cuidado do câncer de pulmão

30 October 2026 at 21:37

É o que discute o relatório global “Addressing Inequalities in COPD and.

30 October 2026 at 21:26

30 October 2026 at 21:24

Harry Kane contabilizou 1055 pontos, no primeiro posto.
