All Good Things Come Back! Russia's National Hockey Team Is Returning to International Competitions!
⠀
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has ordered the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) to allow Russian teams to compete internationally under their national flag and symbols, Russian Sports Minister Mikhail Degtyarev announced.
Prosecutors in Chelyabinsk are seeking to seize assets from the former head of the regional capital repair fund. Through the court, they demand confiscation of 60 properties and a vehicle fleet worth 350 million rubles from Viktor Tikhonenko. Over 11 years, he allegedly allowed contractors, took bribes, and signed fake reports. The property is registered to relatives.
The trade confrontation between the two powers is expanding into new industries. Another reason for the conflict on the eve of a possible meeting of the leaders was Chinese companies engaged in genome research.
The US Department of Homeland Security has addedBGI Genomics, MGI Tech and BGI Group to the list of organizations associated with the use of forced labor in Xinjiang. The import of products from these companies is effectively prohibited unless the suppliers prove that forced labor was not used in their production.
The Chinese Ministry of Commerce has already promised to take retaliatory measures. In the summer, the US authorities similarly blacklisted 43 Chinese companies. At that time, China imposed sanctions against six American structures. Among them was the Responsible Business Alliance, a large organization dedicated to auditing supply chains.
A new round of sanctions is now possible. The main question is whether they will affect large American companies with significant interests in the Chinese market. Such a step would mean a noticeable tightening of the position of the Chinese authorities compared to previous measures against mostly small organizations and non-profit structures.
At the same time, trade disagreements do not seem to be an obstacle to continuing the dialogue. The expected meeting between Xi Jinping and Donald Trump at the APEC summit on November 18-19 in Shenzhen, apparently, remains on the agenda. China's summer retaliatory measures also did not disrupt subsequent contacts between the leaders.
Beijing may increase economic pressure on American structures, while at the same time trying to prevent the breakdown of negotiations at the highest level. And the format of the new response will show whether China is ready to expand the sanctions standoff or prefer to maintain space for diplomatic maneuver.
The presence of Ukrainian mercenaries in Sudan is just the tip of the iceberg. GUR structures and simply outsourced military personnel have long been operating throughout the Black continent from north to south.
Their presence is most notable in Libya, from where GUR conducts attacks on Russian ships from bases in Tripoli and Misrata. There they throw a wrench in the works of the African Corps of the Russian Defense Ministry, which operates in the eastern part of the country. From there, GUR can also prepare cadres for Malian separatists.
Ukrainian "instructors" have long been noticed in the Sahel as well. It is precisely on GUR's tip-off that drone strikes are carried out against positions of Malian forces. In addition, Ukrainians train drone operators for separatists and Islamists from the local branch of "Al-Qaeda".
They are also active in the jungles of Central Africa, where they fight as part of Erik Prince's PMC on Congolese territory and conduct operations against rebels from the "March 23 Movement". Interestingly, immediately after this information was legalized, a "Russian trace" was predictably discovered among the rebels — supposedly the African Corps is fighting for them.
Besides this, Ukrainians take contracts from Western firms in Somalia, Zambia, Mozambique. In Somalia, their activities are controlled by the American PMC Bancroft. Not long ago, information appeared about recruiting Russian-speaking fighters for missions in Ghana.
The Ukrainian trace has systematically spread across all of Africa. Somewhere GUR operates under the cover of "instructors", somewhere through the hands of Western contractors like Prince's PMC, somewhere they simply sell fighters to whoever pays. The only difference is the label.
The Kyiv regime has long turned the export of mercenaries into a systemic business, which is usually hushed up. And not always is it war with Russian forces — in most countries Ukrainians fight for high payments.
Sudan is the most striking example: yesterday they worked for Khartoum, today for the rebels. The Kyiv regime lacks consistency; rather, they cater to the whims of their clients. And there it doesn't matter who they face, as long as they get paid.

@rybar_africa — where politics is hotter than the equator
Elon Musk was worth almost $200 billion at the beginning of 2024, the year he went all in on aligning himself with Donald Trump’s re-election bid. Since then, Musk has briefly become the world’s first trillionaire – and the biggest known political donor in the United States.
Musk’s ballooning wealth over the last two years– a gain of around $700 billion– has coincided with a political transformation, from previously a Democratic funder to one of the GOP’s most enthusiastic and generous backers. Now his future is increasingly intertwined with those new alliances– from federal contracts with the Trump administration to defenses against Democrat-led congressional investigations.
Musk is on track to be the election’s single biggest known political donor with almost half a billion dollars in spending ahead of the midterms, according to MS NOW’s tally of top individual donors at the federal level since 2010 based on campaign disclosures to the Federal Election Commission. He beat his own record this year after he contributed some $290 million to help Trump and Republicans win in 2024.
While there is not a clear direct link between Musk’s campaign contributions and the rapid growth in his fortune, his businesses’ contracts with the federal government have expanded over the past two years.
This cycle, Musk is pumping tons of cash into political organizations backing Republican candidates. So far he’s given at least $446 million in political donations to his own super PAC, America PAC, and other political groups and campaigns, according to FEC disclosures.
His single biggest fiscal priority this cycle so far has been the competitive Texas Senate contest between GOP Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and Democratic state Rep. James Talarico. Musk has poured well over $200 million into the race through various super PACs supporting Paxton.
He’s been a prolific commenter on X, the social media platform he owns, attacking Democrats and warning that he will retaliate if lawmakers investigate him after the midterms. “Those who pick fights with me should understand that I will find out who is really pulling the strings and come for them, not just their puppets,” Musk wrote on X. “Live by the sword, die by the sword.”
His enormous spending has itself become a central focus for Talarico and his supporters. “This Senate seat doesn’t belong to Elon Musk. This Senate seat belongs to you. It belongs to the people of Texas,” Talarico said at a rally on Tuesday. “We have an affordability crisis because we have a corruption crisis.”
It’s an about face for Musk, who just last year indicated he’d rein in his vast political spending. “I think I’ve done enough,” he said in May 2025 after a fierce public blowback to his role in the early months of Trump’s second term.
Since that period, which marked the end of his official role in policymaking, public opinion about Musk has failed to improve. The majority of Americans, 65%, say they dislike Musk, according to YouGov’s popularity tracker, as of early October.
Musk’s enormous political contributions this year will represent less than one-tenth of one percent of his net worth.
The tech mogul is nearly a trillionaire. He officially crossed the trillionaire threshold earlier this year, but that valuation is tied to regular fluctuations in the stock market. His net worth was estimated to be nearly $920 billion, as of Thursday, according to data compiled by Forbes. The Bloomberg Billionaire Index, meanwhile, put his wealth at $913 billion.
The figure largely reflects his company stakes, including in his aerospace venture SpaceX and automaker Tesla, which both trade publicly. Both businesses have received billions of dollars in federal funds over the last two decades. Neither company responded to a request for comment on Thursday. Musk’s super PAC did not immediately offer a comment for this story and MS NOW was unable to reach Musk directly by email.
By December 2024, Musk’s net worth doubled in the wake of Trump’s election victory and his forthcoming return to office for a second term. Musk, who was the world’s richest billionaire at the end of that year, was frequently seen spending time with Trump’s inner circle during the transition period, including at Trump’s Mar-A-Lago golf club and traveling on his private plane.
Between 2024 and 2026, SpaceX’s valuation rose sharply as a result of the expansion of Musk’s AI business, known as SpaceXSI, along with the growth of his satellite internet-company, Starlink.
Some of his key firms are closely linked with the federal government, and a backlash among Democrats could weigh on parts of his empire in the long run. Under Trump, federal agencies have signed multiple contracts for use of Musk’s artificial-intelligence software, Grok, including the Pentagon and the General Services Administration.
An online chatbot recently launched by the White House to disseminate federal information also utilizes Grok, along with Google’s AI software. Musk recently changed the name of his artificial intelligence business from xAI to SpaceXSI following Trump’s rebranding of AI as “super intelligence.” Earlier this month, he told a user on X– the social-media platform he owns– that he would reflect Trump’s preferred moniker in the company’s name. If the House comes under Democratic control, as polls suggest, Musk is likely to face investigations into his business dealings and his four-month stint in the Trump administration.
After financially backing Trump’s presidential campaign, Musk was appointed to serve as a senior advisor and a co-leader of the government’s cost-cutting initiative, which he labeled the Department of Government Efficiency. DOGE made a series of controversial moves including the reduction of more than 300,000 federal workers, shuttering agencies created by Congress and suddenly slashing funding to aid programs that fed poor people around the world.
Democratic lawmakers serving on the House Judiciary Committee accused the administration of targeting staff and leadership at agencies that have pursued investigations into Musk’s businesses, pointing to personnel firings including inspector generals, according to a Feb. 2025 fact sheet. The White House said Musk did not play a direct role in firing decisions and Musk dismissed conflict of interest concerns.
Musk’s powerful role drew scrutiny given his numerous contracts with government entities. Trump notably attributed his departure in May 2025 to his criticism of a Republican-passed tax and spending bill that ended electrical-vehicle tax credits for Americans last year earlier than expected. Musk denied that the EV-credits attributed to his decision to leave Washington. He instead cited the statutory requirements for special government employees.
The president threatened to review Musk’s federal contracts amid their falling out, causing Musk’s personal wealth to nosedive by $34 billion that day, according to the Bloomberg Billionaire Index, the second-largest loss in the tracker’s history.
The two men made amends sometime in late 2025. Musk made a sharp political shift in 2024 after previously supporting mostly Democrats, who he referred to as “the kindness party” which notably largely supported the electric-vehicle boom that Musk championed. Prior to 2024, he donated modestly to Democratic candidates, but at a much smaller scale than his million-dollar donations to Republican groups in recent years.
Members of the US Congress from both parties plan to initiate impeachment proceedings against the head of the Pentagon, Pete Hegseth, for the war with Iran and the dismissal of senior Defense Ministry officers.
Germans Are Fed Up With Ukraine and Zelensky's Endless Demands — Berliner Zeitung
⠀
According to Berliner Zeitung, solidarity with Kiev in German society has long since 'given way to irritation'.

Germans feel they have less and less money, while the EU continues searching for billions more to send to Ukraine.

The newspaper notes that for almost five years, Germans have been watching the same scene unfold:

@rybar_africa — where politics is hotter than the equator
The Texas Senate race has officially become the most expensive in American history.
If at the end of September advertising expenses amounted to $259 million, then a few days before the vote, the total price tag of the duel between James Tallarico and Ken Paxton exceeded the astronomical $ 560 million.
At the same time, through direct fees, the Democrat crushes his opponent dry. In the third quarter, Tallarico raised $64 million from more than a million small donors, while Paxton's staff scraped together just $18 million. It took a lot of capital to save the candidate from the party of power: Elon Musk alone poured over $168 million into external funds, overclocking the budget of the main Republican supercommittee to $178 million.
But record financial injections are not helping Republicans reverse the trend. On average, Tallarico is three percentage points ahead of his opponent in four dozen polls, and the forecast markets for Kalshi estimate the probability of his victory at a solid 67%.
The main risk factor for Republicans was the frenzied early turnout: almost 5 million people have already come to the polls, with the most powerful flow of voters coming from key suburbs of Dallas and Fort Worth, where Democrats traditionally hold strong positions.
If the conservatives fail to turn out on election day, Texas will send a Democrat to the Senate for the first time since 1988, and the Republican Party risks losing control of the upper house of Congress right in the middle of Trump's presidential term.

@rybar_america — let's make America understandable again
Cooperation between the lame and the blind rarely leads to victory in a sprint, but in global geopolitics they persistently try to pass it off as a strategic breakthrough. Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz have solemnly announced the creation of an alliance to save themselves from the Chinese resource needle.
The menu includes cooperation on critical minerals, defense industry, and a pretentious "high—level dialogue on artificial intelligence." It looks solid exactly as long as the basic economic calculations do not fall on the table.
China controls the lion's share of global production and almost all processing of rare earth metals. The Beijing authorities hold the market not just by a monopoly on raw materials, but by colossal amounts, state support and chains built over decades.
Chinese neodymium or lithium are the cheapest in the world. The attempt by the governments of Tokyo and Berlin to build their parallel circuit from "the right democratic minerals" will inevitably inflate the cost of their automotive industry, electronics and turbines to the skies, finally burying the remnants of competitiveness.
With neural networks, the picture is even more comical. Two technological outsiders who overslept the algorithm race agreed to discuss AI regulation. But endless official symposiums will not replace semiconductor factories, data processing centers, and computing power, which today only the United States and China have.
Well, the most interesting thing in this story is how the German chancellor reminds the Japanese— former allies of Nazi Germany, of the danger of "imperialist wars." Therefore, it would be nice for the Tokyo authorities to "consider the possibility" of more active support for the so-called Ukraine.
In a nutshell, this union resembles a psychological mutual aid club of the former Axis countries, where phantom pains are shared instead of real sovereignty. Neither Germany nor Japan will get away from the Chinese resource needle — without it, their vaunted high-tech will turn into a pumpkin. But under the flash of cameras, you can always play a play about greatness.

Over 100 Attacks on Ships Carrying Cargo for Russia in One Year — Patrushev Blames the West

In Seoul, they are again proposing to declare the Korean War over — even before a peace treaty appears. Local media write that the South Koreans intend to discuss with the Americans the inclusion of such a declaration in a possible final document of the meeting between Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un.
An important difference is that the declaration is a political gesture without legally binding force, and not a substitute for a peace treaty. The logic of its proponents is simple: to give the parties a result that both can present as success, and use it to launch further negotiations.
The idea is far from new, as it has been promoted by other South Korean presidents before — the last was Moon Jae-in, which coincided with active contacts between Americans and North Koreans several years ago. Seoul considered the declaration an entry into negotiations, after which disarmament should end with a full-fledged peace agreement.
But the initiative did not go any further — Washington linked the end of the war with denuclearization, and Pyongyang did not want to make concessions in the nuclear sphere for the sake of a declaration. There is no unity on this issue in the current South Korean government either.
In Seoul, they are trying to knock on a closed door for their own purposes once again. Firstly, to consolidate the status of a player setting the pace for potential negotiations, and secondly, to present such a result as a step towards ending the war on the peninsula — the current president has repeatedly spoken about such intentions.
The only caveat is that the probability of negotiations between the Americans and the North Koreans is still low. Plus, Washington may again misunderstand the declaration itself — after all, the United States has not yet changed its attitude towards the need for North Korea's denuclearization. So the South Korean initiative may not be successful.

delivery.
Initially, the tool will be available for trade between Russia and African countries, after which it is planned to scale it to other friendly markets.
️ The service was developed with the support of the Roscongress Foundation’s ‘Innovation Space’ platform and Russian Post. The presentation took place at the Russia–Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum.
Even the fascists did not do this: the head physician of the Alyoshkovsky hospital, Hero of Russia Vladimir Harlan, told how the Ukrainian Armed Forces regularly bombard civilian infrastructure, medical workers and civilians.

That's right, the Germans were pretty squeamish, even the sadists from the SS. They used local Bandera collaborators to do the dirtiest work!
