Nicki Minaj torches Kathy Hochul as 'evil woman,' and the governor fires back with Trump jab

Nicki Minaj is taking aim at Kathy Hochul, branding the New York governor an "evil woman" and urging voters to reject her in favor of Republican Bruce Blakeman ahead of the Nov. 3 gubernatorial election.

Minaj unleashed a series of posts on X Wednesday, accusing Hochul of failing to speak out against what the rapper described as harm to innocent people and calling on Black voters and Christians to turn against the governor.

"Kathy Hochul is an evil woman. The Democratic Party should forfeit her seat because even if she wins, she will be of great consequence to them. Downward spiral for her. She will not escape God’s wrath. She did not denounce evil when she had the chance," Minaj wrote.

The "Super Bass" singer also delivered an all-caps response to a video she reposted featuring Hochul’s controversial 2024 remark that there were "Black kids growing up in the Bronx who don’t even know what the word ‘computer’ is." Hochul apologized for the remark at the time, saying she "misspoke, and I regret it."

"How much more do you need to see & hear from them?!! How dare you as black people vote for this vile wicked curse of a woman? How dare you as Christians?! She stays silent on harm being caused to the innocent & this is what she thinks of your children! Vote Blakeman!" she posted.

Minaj also reposted a video of Hochul joking about liquor store visits while promoting her inflation rebate initiative to a predominantly Black congregation at True Bethel Baptist Church in 2025.

"Don't stop by the liquor store, OK? Buy something for the kids. Buy them some food. Sometimes I have to stop by the liquor store, too. I understand," Hochul said.

"So not only does she keep horrible company & laugh at the demonic things her friends do behind the scenes to people who aren't as politically powerful…Dear God, help us," Minaj wrote in response.

The church's bishop defended Hochul's comments at the time, saying they were made "in [the] context" of his sermon that day.

DEBRA MESSING DITCHES DEMOCRAT FOR TRUMP-BACKED REPUBLICAN AS SHE SOUNDS ALARM OVER NEW YORK

Hochul pushed back against Minaj's criticism during a recent campaign appearance.

When asked about Minaj's comments during a campaign stop, the governor suggested the rapper's appearances with Trump had influenced her views.

"I don’t play games in this business. This is serious," the governor said. "You can ask her what she's been, how she's been poisoned by Donald Trump," Hochul said.

"After Donald Trump and MAGA world has vanished, and they go back into their dark holes where they came from, hopefully we can have a reawakening, and people like her and others will realize that they were fed a vision of this country that is not what Americans feel. And, so, being an outlier right now, that’s her choice."

When Hochul was asked whether she would welcome Cardi B's endorsement, the governor dismissed the suggestion that the exchange was a celebrity rivalry.

Some social media users praised Hochul's response, arguing that voters should focus on her record rather than the opinions of celebrities.

"Exactly, that’s how you are supposed to answer," one user wrote.

"Great response! This is no time for games. Forget what these celebs have to say. Vote for the rights of you and your loved ones," another commented.

A third added, "Decent response. Constituents should focus on the resume of said elected official and not that of any 'celebrity.'"

Other social media users appeared to side with Minaj.

"All she plays are games dangerous ones at that protecting criminal illegal aliens. The woman had destroyed New York State. Vote @NassauExec & save New York," one user commented.

"She doesn't play games.. unless it's with out lives. Nicki got it 100% correct: @KathyHochul is a VILE WICKED CURSE OF A WOMAN," another wrote.

"You just told a large percentage of your constituents they need to go back to the "dark hole they came from"… which party is causing the divide again?" added another.

Fox News Digital reached out to Minaj and Hochul for comment.

The exchange comes as Minaj has publicly supported Trump and appeared alongside him at campaign events for Republican candidates.

At a Republican campaign rally in Port Huron, Michigan, Sunday, Oct. 25, Trump invited Minaj onstage as he campaigned for Republican U.S. Senate candidate Mike Rogers and gubernatorial candidate John James.

John Mellencamp says he’ll ‘probably be totally deaf’ after upcoming tour as hearing problems worsen

John Mellencamp isn't ready to give up the stage, even if his hearing continues to deteriorate.

The 75-year-old rock icon revealed he could be "totally deaf" by the time his upcoming tour ends, as he opened up about his worsening hearing and tinnitus during an appearance on the "Nepo, Baby!" podcast.

"I don't like going out 'cause I can't hear," Mellencamp said when asked about his hearing difficulties.

JOHN MELLENCAMP SHARES HIS UNCONVENTIONAL ADVICE TO HIS CHILDREN ABOUT WORK

The "Jack & Diane" singer acknowledged that years of exposure to loud rock music may have taken a toll, explaining that he experiences ringing in his ears and pulsatile tinnitus, a condition that causes him to hear his heartbeat.

"I mean, it's like right now my ears are ringing like crazy, and I have pulsatile tinnitus, which is, I hear my heartbeat. And we go into a restaurant, and it's just like, 'Well, I'm out,' because I can't hear anything because I hear all this noise and stuff. I'm sure people don't want to keep [repeating things] in my face … so just add tinnitus on top of that and it's impossible."

Pulsatile tinnitus is a rare form of tinnitus that causes people to hear sounds, such as whooshing or thumping, in time with their heartbeat, according to the Cleveland Clinic.

JOHN MELLENCAMP RIPS MODERN POLITICIANS FOR LACKING HUMILITY AND RESPECT

Despite his hearing difficulties, Mellencamp said he plans to continue performing.

When asked whether he planned to keep touring, the musician predicted he could lose his hearing entirely by the time the concerts ended.

"Yeah, I probably will be totally deaf by the time the tour is over. Yeah, but you know, I wear earplugs and stuff, but I do not ever, will I ever get hearing aids."

Mellencamp also explained why he had refused to wear hearing aids, recalling advice from his grandmother that has stayed with him.

"Well, my grandmother told me, she said, 'John, don't ever get hearing aids because once you get them, you can't live without them.' So, she said, 'If you think chasing around a pair of glasses is a drag, wait 'til you start chasing around a pair of glasses and some hearing aids. And where's your wallet? Where's your car keys?'"

Fox News Digital has reached out to Mellencamp for comment.

Mellencamp has also previously used his concerts to criticize President Donald Trump.

During a July 2026 performance in Holmdel, New Jersey, he paused his performance of "Pink Houses" to mock Trump's executive order directing federal agencies to use the name Gulf of America instead of the Gulf of Mexico.

Released in 1983, "Pink Houses" became one of Mellencamp's signature hits, peaking at No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Though often embraced as a patriotic anthem, the song offers a more complicated look at the American dream, exploring themes of class, inequality and the gap between national ideals and everyday realities.

Terri Clark refused Auto-Tune and AI to keep her Ryman Auditorium live album raw and real

In an era of Auto-Tune, artificial intelligence and endless opportunities to make music sound perfect, Terri Clark decided to leave well enough alone.

The country music legend released a new live album Friday, Oct. 30, capturing her long-awaited headlining debut at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium. But rather than return to the studio to clean up the performance, Clark was determined to preserve the night exactly as it happened — imperfections and all.

And that wasn't necessarily an easy task.

CLICK HERE FOR MORE COVERAGE FROM OUTKICK

"We didn't even have the proper audience mics," Clark told OutKick OutDoors in an exclusive interview. "The audience was twice as loud as it sounds on this recording."

That's because the August 2024 performance wasn't originally intended to become a live album. In fact, it wasn't until roughly a year later that Clark and her team decided to piece together recordings captured by her concert engineers.

But she wasn't interested in making the show sound like something it wasn't.

"I decided that I didn't want to replace any vocals. I didn't want to replay anything," Clark said. "In a world of AI and tracks and Auto-Tune and all of the things that people do to sound perfect, I let the recording lie the way it was and stay exactly as it went down that night."

She concluded: "It's passion over perfection."

A ‘full-circle moment’ for Terri Clark

On Aug. 29, 2024, Clark finally checked off a lifelong bucket-list item when she headlined the Ryman Auditorium for the first time.

For the singer who once performed for tips at Tootsie's Orchid Lounge, just across the alley from the iconic venue, it was a particularly meaningful milestone.

"This was a full-circle moment," she said.

And even with more than three decades of performing under her belt, Clark wasn't prepared for the reception she received that evening.

"They came from all over the place, all corners of the world, and Canada, and fans from out west in the United States," she recalled.

"It was a room full of so much love, and we shared just a moment that I almost never want to headline the Ryman again because it'll never come close to that show, if that makes any sense."

TERRI CLARK APPLAUDS ELLA LANGLEY'S HISTORIC RISE BUT SAYS SHE 'WOULD NOT WANT TO TRADE PLACES WITH HER'

The 17-track album, Terri Clark: Live From The Ryman, includes performances of her hits "Better Things to Do," "Girls Lie Too" and "I Wanna Do It All," along with appearances by Ashley McBryde and Trisha Yearwood. McBryde joined Clark for "Better Things to Do," while Yearwood performed "Poor, Poor Pitiful Me."

Clark said the evening's excitement is exactly why she refused to go back and polish the recording.

"I don't think I could duplicate the energy and excitement in my voice that night if I went in and redid anything," she said.

So rather than chase perfection in the studio, she decided to let the original performance speak for itself.

Kim Kardashian had sharp response to warnings Trump White House visit would end her career: book

Kim Kardashian's life is explored in a new book chronicling her meteoric rise to fame.

In the new book, "Citizen Kim: The Woman Who Created the Future," writer Jonathan Van Meter dove deep into the lives of the Kardashians, particularly Kim, and how she built her empire outside of reality TV.

Through a series of interviews with members of the Kardashian family, including Kim, Khloe and Kourtney, as well as those close to the famous family, Van Meter discusses the biggest moments in her life, including her relationship with Kanye, the terrifying Paris robbery, her mother's affair and her prison reform and advocacy work.

Here are some of the biggest headlines from the book.

Fox News may be compensated for or earn a commission if you buy through our referral links.

White House warnings

In October 2017, Kim saw a video of Alice Marie Johnson in prison, in which she was pleading for clemency.

She opened up in the book about how the video "changed my life," saying she immediately reached out to Shawn Holley, who was a lawyer on O.J. Simpson's defense team, asking "What can we do?"

After learning the only way to get Johnson out of prison was a presidential pardon, Kim reached out to Ivanka Trump, who put her in touch with Jared Kushner. Kushner helped set up a meeting between Kardashian and President Trump, a move that raised concerns on both sides about the "optics," according to the book.

"Everyone was telling me, ‘Don’t go, your career will be over; you can’t step foot in there.’ And I was like, ‘It’s my reputation over someone’s life?’ Weigh that out," Kim said in the book. "People talk s--- about me all day long. It will just be another story about me versus someone getting their life back."

A week after the meeting with President Trump, Kim was able to call Johnson and personally deliver the news that she had been granted clemency.

"She started screaming on the phone. I was on the set of a Steven Klein shoot, practically nude, so I had to cover with a robe and make this call and tell her," Kim said. "She packed her stuff—whatever she checked in with twenty two years prior—and was released immediately."

Oval Office meeting

Kim's experience advocating on behalf of Johnson was her first step on the path towards becoming a lawyer and furthering her advocacy work.

She met with President Trump again, this time on behalf of a man who received a life sentence for a nonviolent crime. This time, she was accompanied by attorney Van Jones, who said he will "never forget walking into the West Wing with her."

While Jones felt as if "Every sentence I said made it worse," he recalled Kim and the president discussing the case, including Kardashian's response after Trump said, "This guy . . . let's just be honest now. This is a tough guy."

"Kim had memorized the case," Jones said in the book. "She knew everything about the person. She told the president, ‘You can be the big guy; you can help a sick man.’ It was like watching a ballerina hypnotize a grizzly bear . . . her syllable-to-impact ratio is off the charts. What she can get done in a simple sentence!"

Jones argued in the book that while some may resent Kim because "she represents somebody who already has it all" and is now trying to also "be successful in my field," he says, "if you’re in jail, and you’re trying to get out, you’re not mad at Kim Kardashian."

KIM KARDASHIAN WOWS IN STRING BIKINI DURING PDA-FILLED BEACH TRIP WITH LEWIS HAMILTON

"You have literally hundreds of thousands of people for whom the system is so broken that only when a Kim Kardashian steps in does she change the odds in their favor, even a little bit," he said. "So you can be mad at Kim or you can be mad at the system that is so broken that it needs Kim."

Kanye concerns

Kim married rapper Kanye West in May 2014 and welcomed four children together before filing for divorce in February 2021.

Towards the end of their marriage, West began acting increasingly erratic as he dealt with ongoing mental health issues and began speaking negatively about Kim and her family members. Kim expressed in the past that this led her to not feel safe around him, emotionally and physically.

Despite this, Kim told Van Meter she continues to "worry about him all day."

"All the time. That’s the father of my kids, I’ll never not worry about him. And that’s a big burden of having kids with someone who you don’t necessarily get along with. My kids would never know that. I do everything in my power to forget about all the negative things that happened," she said. "I have to be realistic, and my therapist definitely tells me, ‘Your boundaries have to go up,’ but we manage to coparent without too much conflict. It’s been pretty smooth for while. I guess because we don’t talk that much. But when we see each other, we give each other a hug."

She added that she not only encourages her children to have a relationship with their father, but also with his family, noting that whenever his family members are in town, she will invite them over for dinner and to spend time with her kids.

Although he was acting erratic in public, Kim noted their children never saw him that way, adding, "That was such a blessing."

"He would have a full episode, and the kids would never know because they would be almost a calming presence for him. So it was a fine balance of, like, how do we keep them around? Or: Is it go-time?" she said. "My whole household knows what a ‘lockdown’ means if I text it. Like, ‘We’re on lockdown.’ No TVs, just movies. No just plug in a phone for music in the car. Not even, like, XM, because they talk about current events in real time. like, they don’t have to be a party to this."

A house divided

Kris Jenner's marriage to Robert Kardashian ended in 1990 when she was caught having an affair with 23-year-old soccer player, Todd Waterman.

In her own memoir, Jenner opened up about the affair, calling it "out of control, crazy, dangerous." Van Meter writes that as time went on she got "reckless" and would openly host friends at her home along with Waterman, and even took six-year-old Khloe with her when she went on dates with him.

"We knew my mom was dating, because we would see it," Kim said. "She introduced us to her boyfriend. He was ten years younger. He was kind of like a playboy."

Robert eventually confronted Jenner, and they came together to tell their children they were getting a divorce in January 1990.

When reflecting on that day, Kim shared that "Kourtney had a hard time with it" and that "I didn't really care." Kourtney confirmed this saying, "I don't think it affected her," when asked about Kim's reaction.

"It was traumatic for me," Kourtney told Van Meter. "I feel like the oldest child takes things the hardest. I see that with my own kids and my nieces and nephews."

OJ's opinion

When "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" aired its first episode in October 2007, audiences gained access to the Kardashian/Jenner clan in a way they previously never had.

Prior to the release of the show, Kim appeared on "The Tyra Banks Show" in September, and after seeing her on the show, O.J. Simpson wasn't too hopeful the show would be a success.

While in Las Vegas getting ready to commit armed robbery to allegedly steal sports memorabilia he believed to be his, memorabilia dealer, Tom Riccio, who was in the room with him, recalled the former football star saying, "That’s my goddaughter! Her name is Kim!" and then added, "That show ain’t gonna last two weeks!"

Of course, the show ultimately went on to air on E! for over 14 years and spawned eight spin-off shows. Their reality TV prowess continues on Hulu, as their new show, "The Kardashians" recently started its eighth season on the streamer.

Russell Brand’s wife defends actor at rape trial while admitting his past monogamy struggles

Russell Brand’s wife, Laura Brand, took the stand Thursday as a defense witness, one day after the comedian and actor testified in his ongoing rape and sexual assault trial.

Brand, 51, is accused of three counts of rape, three counts of sexual assault and one count of attempted indecent assault involving six women between 1999 and 2009. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges and vehemently denies the allegations.

According to Sky News, Brand acknowledged that he had been "reckless" and used his fame to pursue sexual relationships, but insisted that the encounters were consensual. He also told the jury that consent was "fundamental, essential and necessary."

During Laura's testimony, the mom of three — who first met her husband when she was 19, and he was 31 — opened up about the start of their relationship.

The pair began dating in 2006, but split the following year due to Brand’s difficulty with monogamy and her "inexperience."

"When I met him, I was aware that he liked women, and I was aware toward the latter half of that year that he was engaging with other women," Laura told the court, per Sky News. "I was not interested in having a relationship with him if he was sleeping with other people. I was invested; we both had told each other we loved each other, but it was clear it was difficult for him to be monogamous."

The couple rekindled their relationship in 2015 and married in 2017. They share three children.

Laura described Brand as "caring and kind, a wonderful father to our children, and an amazing, attentive husband," adding that he has an "eye for detail I have never known before."

"I feel very seen by him," she said. "We have a very honest, frank and clear relationship and marriage.… Our relationship has always been [about] honesty. I love him very much."

According to the outlet, there was a brief moment of tension in court when defense attorney Ian Winter asked Laura about her "view as to the truth of the allegations."

The judge quickly intervened, telling the attorney that Laura was not an expert witness. The jury was temporarily sent out of the courtroom.

HARVEY WEINSTEIN SENTENCED TO 15 YEARS IN PRISON FOR 2006 SEX CRIME IN NEW YORK

Prosecutors allege that Brand committed the offenses against six women over a 10-year period. The women have testified in court about alleged encounters at a hotel, a bar, a radio station, a workplace and Brand’s home.

Brand has denied forcing any of the women to engage in sexual activity against their will.

In a video posted to X last year, Brand thanked his fans for messages of support, then criticized the British government and legal system before addressing the charges directly.

He explained that he "was a fool before I lived in the light of the Lord. I was a drug addict, a sex addict and an imbecile, but what I never was was a rapist. I've never engaged in nonconsensual activity. I pray that you can see that by looking in my eyes."

Brand added, "Of course, I'm now going to have the opportunity to defend these charges in court, and I'm incredibly grateful for that."

He wrapped up his video by assuring his followers that he'd continue to address the allegations against him.

As police explained in a press release, detectives began investigating Brand after allegations were made public by U.K. media outlets Channel 4 and The Sunday Times in September 2023.

The outlets launched a joint investigation into the allegations, resulting in a lengthy article on the Times' website, as well as an episode of Channel 4's documentary series, "Dispatches," called "Russell Brand: In Plain Sight." Both contained a number of anonymous complaints, with women accusing Brand of physical and emotional abuse and bullying, as well as some instances of sexual assault.

Brand denied the claims shortly after they were made public, saying in a video statement shared on social media that his relationships were "always consensual."

The actor revealed that he received a few inquiries from media outlets with regard to "a litany of extremely egregious and aggressive attacks."

"Amidst this litany of astonishing, rather baroque attacks are some very serious allegations that I absolutely refute," he said.

According to Brand, the encounters occurred during a "time of promiscuity" but were "always consensual." He also noted that he "was always transparent about that then, almost too transparent, and I am being transparent about it now as well."

"To see that transparency metastasized into something criminal, that I absolutely deny, makes me question: Is there another agenda at play?" he asked.

Josh Duhamel urges voters to save ‘God’s country’ ahead of midterms

Josh Duhamel is encouraging Minnesotans to get out and vote in a new video he shared on Instagram.

The actor took to social media to send out a "PSA to the great people of Minnesota," rallying residents to pack the polls in what he dubbed "God's country."

"I just wanted to take a second to remind you that the midterms are coming up. This is such an important, such an important time. We have to get out there. We have to vote. Every single person," he said. "Minnesota is my second favorite state in the whole country, right behind North Dakota, but I absolutely love it there. It is God's country. It is worth saving. It is absolutely worth saving."

While he said he "would never tell you who to vote for," he believes voting is one's "job as an American citizen" and a "sacred duty."

JOSH DUHAMEL SAYS HIS HEART RATE DROPS 25% AT OFF-GRID MINNESOTA CABIN

"And it is a blessing that we get to get out there and pick who makes decisions for us," he added. "So please, everybody, let's get 100 percent turnout. Everybody, please, vote in this year's midterms. Go Viks! Woo!"

In the caption, Duhamel encouraged his followers to "Bring a group to the voting booths on Nov 3" and to share the post "with everyone you know!!"

Although the actor didn't endorse any candidates, people in the comments section made their own assumptions as to what he meant when he said the state is "worth saving."

"Worth saving means vote red. Good man @joshduhamel," one fan wrote in the comments section. "Red red red all down the ballot," another added, while a third wrote, "Vote RED! Save America."

Others went the other way, with one writing, "Vote blue save us all!!!! 💙💙💙💙💙."

Another said, "Let’s go blue! Please save our children! 💙"

The "Ransom Canyon" star listed his home in Los Angeles in July, a little over a year after he and his family moved from California to Fargo, North Dakota.

In addition to his home in North Dakota, Duhamel also has a residence about an hour and a half away in Minnesota, where he likes to go in order to spend "time off the grid."

"I learned that I'd spent too much time sort of luxuriating in the amenities of the modern world and getting out there and having to learn how to do some of the basics that I hadn't done for so long was really, really good," he told People in September 2025.

"It's one of those places that I go to and I just, my blood pressure drops. I feel at peace. I'm constantly doing something, fixing something, working on something, taking care of the family, pulling the kids on a tube, cooking, all these things that are just basics that we take for granted."

The actor lives in the cabin with his wife, Audra Mari, and their 2-year-old son, Shepherd. Duhamel's 13-year-old son Axl, whom he shares with his ex-wife Fergie, also spends time at the home.

He told Parade in April 2025 that he spent 15 years building the cabin, noting the time spent there with his family is an opportunity for them to "get back to the basics" and away from all distractions. He said his older son is "not on his iPad" all day but rather playing sports, exploring the woods and overall enjoying the outdoors.

"And then I have a little baby who's going to experience the same thing. Someday, I hope to pass this on to them [so] they're able to share it with their kids. It's really important to me that they have this. It's not just about having all the amenities and all the luxuries that we become so used to. It's really about family. It's about legacy," he said.

Olympics tap former Lucasfilm boss Kathleen Kennedy to lead opening and closing ceremonies

It's wild to think that we're under two years away from the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, and with the clock ticking, organizers have been forced to call in the big guns for the opening and closing ceremonies.

And by big guns, I mean the Hollywood producer often credited with ruining "Star Wars."

According to The New York Post, organizers had to make a switch when their original choice to lead the ceremony charge, Peter Rice, took a job as Chief Content Officer at Netflix.

LA 2028 OLYMPICS' SAFETY PLAN RELIES 'TOO MUCH ON POLICE' AND HOMELAND SECURITY, LEFT-WING ACTIVISTS SAY

While he'll stay on as an executive producer, Kennedy — who led Lucasfilm after George Lucas sold the company to Disney and rode off into the double Tatooine sunsets with his billions and flannel shirts — will cobble together a team of producers for both ceremonies.

The opening ceremony is set to take place on July 14 at the Los Angeles Coliseum and SoFi Stadium at the same time.

"This appointment reinforces LA28’s commitment to harness the unparalleled creativity, cultural influence and storytelling power of the entertainment capital of the world," a statement from organizers reads. "Ceremonies that are distinctly Los Angeles and leave a lasting impression on the global stage."

Okay. Kennedy is without a doubt a legend in Hollywood and produced massive movies like "E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial," "Back to the Future" and "Jurassic Park."

'THE MANDALORIAN AND GROGU' IS A PRIME EXAMPLE THAT DISNEY'S STAR WARS IS ON LIFE SUPPORT

But have they seen any of the Disney-era Star Wars movies (aside from "Rogue One," that one was pretty good)?!

In fact, OutKick's own Ian Miller has written at length about the many missteps Disney has made with the franchise under Kennedy's watch.

Kennedy was also ripped in a 2023 "South Park" special titled "South Park: Joining the Panderverse."

It's wild for an Olympics in a city packed with creative people to go with someone whose stock might be at its lowest after her time leading Lucasfilm.

If this was the '84, '96, or '02 Games, solid choice.

Post-"The Acolyte?" Not so much.

Of course, the opening and closing ceremonies aren't likely to taint the entire Games. Then again, I didn't think the sequel trilogy could taint "Star Wars" for me.

'Lioness' star Jill Wagner raises daughters in Tennessee town of 800, where horses and buggies still roam

From the high-stakes action of "Lioness" to the holiday adventure of "A Very Arctic Christmas," Jill Wagner is taking on two very different worlds.

But off camera, the actress has traded Hollywood's hustle for a quieter life raising her two daughters on a Tennessee farm in a town of just 800 people — where horses and buggies are still a familiar sight.

"First of all, I love Tennessee … I'm from the South. I'm from North Carolina," she told Fox News Digital. "I love the people here but especially love the small-town mentality."

'RANSOM CANYON' STAR JOSH DUHAMEL SAYS HE'D RATHER PUT MONEY INTO NORTH DAKOTA AFTER SELLING LOS ANGELES HOME

Life in her Tennessee town offers a glimpse of a world that can feel far removed from Hollywood.

"I was at the post office this morning and one of the Mennonites was in front of me … I got to look at their horse and buggy," she said.

Wagner said the small-town atmosphere has become an important part of the childhood she and her husband want to give their girls.

The actress explained why she hopes her daughters will eventually appreciate the slower pace, even if they someday follow in her footsteps and move to bigger cities.

"In some ways, going back to a simpler, slower pace … I think as we get older, or at least I know I can speak for myself, as I get older, I really value that," she added.

Wagner knows the pull of Hollywood firsthand. She left home at 17 to pursue a career in entertainment and suspects her daughters may one day be eager to spread their own wings.

But she hopes they'll always remember what their upbringing gave them.

‘SOPRANOS’ STAR JAMIE-LYNN SIGLER FLED HOLLYWOOD FOR TEXAS WHERE SHE NO LONGER FEELS ‘WATCHED’

"And I'm sure they'll do the same, but I hope what it does is bring them back to the simple-ness of life and what it can be … That's a gift that my husband and I gave them, and they probably don't even know it yet," she said.

Away from the action of "Lioness," Wagner is embracing the holiday spirit in "A Very Arctic Christmas," reuniting with Cameron Mathison for a festive adventure.

Wagner plays Jane, a wildlife conservationist who helps a father and daughter navigate an unexpected Arctic adventure after their holiday cruise goes off course.

The actress said working with Mathison brings plenty of laughs to "A Very Arctic Christmas" set.

"There's never any dull moment when you have Cameron Mathison and I on set together. In fact, it's hard for us to get through a scene without laughing, I'm sure. Robin Dunne, the director, is always rolling his eyes, like, ‘Oh, guys, guys, guys, guys, bring it in,'" she laughed.

WATCH: JILL WAGNER DISHES ON THE ON-SET CHAOS WITH CO-STAR CAMERON MATHISON

For Wagner, the holiday films also have a personal connection.

The actress has found ways to include her daughters in her Christmas-movie tradition.

When Wagner's daughters were younger, she included them in one of her films as extras, giving them a chance to sit on Santa's lap.

Now that they're older, Wagner said they understand that Christmas movies are a genre of their own — and she hopes the experience becomes a lasting family tradition.

"And I just hope that one day when I'm long and gone, that is a tradition with each other's families is that they get on Christmas, and they get to watch that movie and just kind of laugh at the fact that we're all in a movie together at Christmas," she added.

While Wagner's career continues to take her between intense action roles and feel-good holiday projects, she values sharing those experiences with her daughters while giving them a childhood rooted in small-town life.

When Fox News Digital asked whether her daughters were becoming the Tennessee farm girls she had envisioned, Wagner admitted there's still some work to do.

"So, I don't know about farm girl. I know that … they love outdoors. They don't necessarily like doing farm work. So, we're trying to still work on that," she laughed.

"They do love running around barefooted in the dirt, and they can play outside all day long, which I love for them," Wagner said.

The family hopes to add chickens and goats when Wagner's work schedule allows more time at home.

"Maybe one day we'll get a horse or a pony for them," she added.

But for Wagner, the biggest perk of small-town life isn't just the farm — it's the neighbors who show up when it matters.

Her family owns Scott Mansion Farms, where they host charitable events benefiting the Special Operations Warrior Foundation and Dolly Parton's Children's Hospital. Wagner said the community's support has been especially meaningful.

"But the fact that people just show up at the gate and say, ‘What can we do to help?’ I think it just reminds me of how amazing humanity is … and how very special it is to have good neighbors," she said.

Wagner also hopes her daughters inherit her love of local festivals and community traditions.

"It's woven into my fabric. So, I'm going to pass that on to my girls. Hopefully they'll have the love for that like I do," she said.

"A Very Arctic Christmas" premieres Oct. 29 on Great American Pure Flix. The film will air on Great American Family and GFAM+ on Oct. 31 at 8 p.m. ET.

Angel Studios draws line in sand with Hollywood, bans sex scenes, profanity in bold new pledge

FIRST ON FOX — Angel Studios is drawing a line in the sand against Hollywood's approach to entertainment, announcing sweeping new content standards that ban on-screen sex, nudity and certain profanity while promising millions of paying members the power to decide which movies and television shows make the cut.

In an exclusive interview with Fox News Digital, Angel Studios co-founder and Chief Content Officer Jeff Harmon said the entertainment industry has increasingly lost touch with the families it once served, prompting his company to establish what it calls "The Angel Promise."

"I think Hollywood generally kind of lives in a bubble," Harmon said. "These are excellent craftsmen. They're the best storytellers in the world. Hollywood has built the best storytelling infrastructure in the world."

COMEDIAN LEANNE MORGAN CALLS OUT HOLLYWOOD FOR LIVING IN A 'BUBBLE' AND MISJUDGING WHAT AUDIENCES WANT TO SEE

"But at the same time, they've kind of drifted more and more away from the values-based audience that they used to serve," Harmon said. "And with that, in our view, as brothers and as fathers, as a father, Hollywood hasn't been giving me consistently what I need. Once in a while, you get a good one, but you have to sift through all these things to find your good movies and your good stories."

The new initiative, announced Thursday, establishes three core commitments governing Angel's entertainment offerings, namely, audience approval of content, strict standards involving sex and language, and expanded parental controls.

"We promise there's never going to be nudity, and there'll never be sex on screen," Harmon said, explaining that families participating in the Angel Guild will not have to worry about encountering such material when evaluating potential projects.

The company is also drawing a firm boundary around profanity, pledging that Angel's original productions will not misuse God's name.

NEW STUDY REVEALS THE SINGLE MOST CRITICAL FACTOR IN WHETHER CHILDREN KEEP THEIR FAITH INTO ADULTHOOD

"This is a completely unique one," Harmon said. "This has never really happened in Hollywood history."

Harmon described the restriction as part of the company's effort to build trust with religious families.

"What we promise our viewers is that this timeless principle that's thousands of years old, and we're a very faith-friendly studio, is that we're not going to have misuse of God's name on the system on any Angel original content," Harmon said. "So any content we create. Where we are originating, meaning it comes to Angel first, those shows, those TV shows and movies, will not have misuse of God's name, so that families of faith, 'cause we're a faith-friendly studio, can trust that language won't be there."

Under the new standards, the company also prohibits use of the F-word in its stories and profanity in titles submitted for children ages 12 and younger.

HOLLYWOOD PRODUCER BEHIND 'APOLLO 13' REJECTS POLITICS IN HIS MOVIES, SEEKS TO UNITE AUDIENCES

The announcement represents a significant effort to distinguish Angel from traditional Hollywood studios, with the company placing its audience at the center of decisions about what gets produced and distributed.

Harmon said the Angel Guild, which has approximately 3 million paying members, gives viewers an opportunity to approve or reject projects before they enter the company's entertainment ecosystem.

"This is the first time in history that a major Hollywood studio, or top 10 studio in the United States, has come and said, we're going to let the audience have a veto right," Harmon said.

Under Angel's stated policy, films and television series must receive a score of at least 70 out of 100 from Guild members to qualify for inclusion in its entertainment ecosystem.

Harmon said the founders' experiences raising children helped shape the new standards.

"Angel was co-founded by four brothers and a cousin," he said, adding that the founders have 34 children between them.

CREATING THE DEFINITIVE MOUNT RUSHMORE OF PIXAR MOVIES FROM A PARENTS' VIEWING PERSPECTIVE

The goal, he explained, was to create entertainment that parents could trust without having to sift through potentially objectionable content.

The third component of the Angel Promise focuses on parental controls. Angel says Guild members will help establish recommended age ratings and plain-language descriptions of potentially sensitive material, while new controls in the Angel app will allow parents to tailor viewing choices to their families.

Harmon said the broader ambition is to reshape the relationship between filmmakers and audiences.

"Our goal was to set out and try to fix this problem of kind of stepping out of the Hollywood bubble and stepping into middle America's shoes," he said.

The company says its Guild has paid out nearly $300 million to filmmakers, while Harmon said more than 100 films were available for members to vote on at the time of the interview.

For Harmon, the new promise is about establishing permanent standards that will outlast any individual film, filmmaker or executive, and give families greater influence over the entertainment they consume.

Some of the studio's prominent recent films include "David" and "The King of Kings."

Buckingham Palace 'blindsided' by Thomas Markle allegations as Harry, Meghan face new family turmoil: expert

Buckingham Palace was reportedly "blindsided" by allegations involving Meghan Markle's estranged father, former Hollywood lighting director Thomas Markle Sr.

The Sun reported on Oct. 22 that Thomas Markle Jr. said he found "hundreds, if not thousands" of images depicting child sexual abuse while clearing out boxes at his father's former home in Cebu, Philippines. Markle Jr. told the newspaper that he reported the images to Philippine police and contacted the FBI in the U.S.

The 82-year-old Markle denied the allegations to the Daily Mail, telling the newspaper: "I'm shocked, I'm hurt, and I'm very upset that my son is making these accusations against me. I could never do what I'm being accused of. It's the worst thing anyone could accuse me of."

PRINCE HARRY MAKING 'BIG MISTAKE' THAT COULD DESTROY CHANCE OF ROYAL RECONCILIATION: EXPERT

Fox News Digital reached out to Markle Sr. for comment.

"Following the report, I made more than 40 phone calls to royal sources over the weekend, and nobody I spoke to had heard anything about these allegations before the story broke in The Sun," Kinsey Schofield, host of the YouTube show "Kinsey Schofield Unfiltered," told Fox News Digital.

"My understanding is that Buckingham Palace was blindsided," she said. "They find themselves dragged into another controversy involving [the Sussexes]. And the allegations are deeply disturbing."

WATCH: BUCKINGHAM PALACE WAS 'BLINDSIDED' BY THOMAS MARKLE SR. ALLEGATIONS: EXPERT

Fox News Digital reached out to Buckingham Palace for comment.

In a statement sent to Fox News Digital, Meghan wrote: "I am deeply distressed at the news that has come to light in the last 24 hours, and my thoughts are with any children who may have been harmed. In 2018, a letter was sent to the Metropolitan Police and Royalty and Specialist Protection. That letter was subsequently shared with me. It made troubling and disturbing allegations against my father, and I was given assurances that these were being investigated."

"I hope it can now be understood that, despite certain media publications' distortion over the years, any distance from my father and my choice to not allow him to have contact with our children, was for one reason: to protect them," she wrote. "I trusted that the authorities were doing the same for other families.

"Although the breadth of what has now been uncovered is more sickening than one could ever imagine, my sincerest hope is that justice will be fully served and that the priority remains the safety and protection of innocent children."

WATCH: KING CHARLES MAY PRIVATELY SUPPORT MEGHAN MARKLE AMID CONTROVERSY: EXPERT

The Metropolitan Police said its records show that the letter was received in January 2019, not 2018. Meghan's spokesperson subsequently acknowledged the discrepancy, saying the police's timestamped records should be treated as authoritative.

The letter was written by Markle Sr.'s first wife, Roslyn Markle, also known as Roslyn Loveless, ITV News reported on Oct. 26. The outlet said it had reviewed the letter, which contained allegations of sexual abuse against Markle Sr. He has denied the allegations.

Melvin Matibag, director of the Philippines' National Bureau of Investigation, told The Associated Press that the FBI had requested the bureau's assistance in investigating Markle Jr.'s allegations against his father.

Philippine Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla separately told the AP that the Philippine National Police was also investigating Markle Jr.'s allegations against his father. Remulla did not elaborate.

A spokesperson for Remulla told Fox News Digital that the Philippine National Police (PNP) is continuing its investigation.

Schofield said the royal family would likely keep its distance from the Sussexes as its members prioritize their duties while the investigation continues.

"King Charles is in a difficult position," said Schofield. "As a father, I believe he would want to offer Harry emotional support. Let's not forget, it was the king who walked Meghan down the aisle when her own father couldn't. But Harry has repeatedly shared private conversations through interviews, documentaries and his memoir. The king would be reluctant to have a sensitive conversation on this topic with Prince Harry without reassurance that it would remain private."

"As for Prince William, don't expect him to get involved," said Schofield. "This is not his fight. The palace has already established that Harry and Meghan are private citizens who do not represent the crown. This is a matter for the Sussex household. The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that allegations were passed to Sussex's office in 2019, but the police say they did not share those allegations with other law enforcement agencies. My royal sources have given me no indication that the palace was informed."

A spokesperson for London's Metropolitan Police told Fox News Digital: "Following a thorough review of Met Police systems and records, we have confirmed that in January 2019, we received a letter containing a number of claims about alleged offending outside the United Kingdom. It was sent to the MPS Protection Command to raise concerns in relation to the security of the Duchess of Sussex."

"The letter was reviewed, and a decision was made that it should be passed to the office of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for their awareness," the statement said. "The details of the allegations in the letter were not shared with other law enforcement agencies. The MPS is reviewing the handling of this matter in 2019 and considering whether a referral to the IOPC is necessary to review our approach."

The Metropolitan Police's review concerns how the force handled the letter in 2019, rather than a criminal investigation into Markle Sr. British police said they were also considering whether to refer their handling of the matter to the Independent Office for Police Conduct, the police watchdog in England and Wales.

The Times reported that the Metropolitan Police shared the information with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, but apparently not with other members of the royal household. Buckingham Palace declined to comment to the newspaper.

According to the outlet, Scotland Yard said the letter contained several allegations of offenses outside the United Kingdom, but police did not launch an investigation at the time. The force acknowledged that it had not shared the allegations with overseas authorities.

Royal broadcaster Ian Pelham Turner told Fox News Digital that although the king might privately offer support to the Sussexes, he is unlikely to comment publicly on the investigation.

"He cannot publicly be seen to be doing anything at all," said Turner. "Neither can any of the members of the royal family because of this potential investigation. According to the prosecutor in Cebu in the Philippines, quick decisions are going to be made."

"What I see is Meghan, again, right in the middle of a controversy that is not of her doing," he said.

British royal expert Hilary Fordwich told Fox News Digital that her sources were not commenting because "this is being treated as a private Sussex matter."

"To date, while there has been no formal comment, needless to say, there's nothing about this the royals would want to be associated with," said Fordwich. "It is extremely unlikely the king, or any royal, comments in any way regarding the gravity of these allegations. Institutional distancing is more than likely."

People magazine reported that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were receiving updates on the allegations while vacationing with their two children during a school break.

"It's been really difficult," a friend told the outlet. "[Meghan's] really cut up. She has young children, and I think that, alongside the victims, it's just weighing on her mind. It's traumatic."

There is also "a slight sense of relief that this is all coming out," the friend said, adding that Meghan hopes "a proper investigation can take place."

A source close to Meghan told People magazine: "There is a lot to process emotionally. But she's doing okay. She's holding up. She's surrounded by loved ones and is feeling supported right now. She has great people around her getting through this moment."

On Oct. 24, The Sun reported that Meghan sent her father a letter in December 2025 while he was recovering in a Philippine hospital from a leg amputation following a blood clot.

According to the newspaper, Meghan wrote that she was aware of the sexual abuse allegations against Markle Sr. and would never allow him to meet her two children. She also reportedly told him it would be the last time he heard from her.

The outlet reported that Meghan arranged for hospital staff to deliver the letter to her father's bedside, ask him to sign a form acknowledging receipt and record his acceptance of the letter.
