I.D Construction, a leading construction company in Cyprus, took part in Career Day at the University of Cyprus, joining an initiative aimed at helping undergraduate and postgraduate students better understand career opportunities, employment prospects and potential pathways into the professional world.
At its stand, the I.D Construction team introduced students to the company’s work and spoke with them about career paths and the realities of working in the construction sector.

The company continued the initiative by inviting University of Cyprus students to visit one of its construction sites. During the visit, the team shared practical insights into construction processes, workplace safety and the day-to-day realities of delivering a project, giving students an opportunity to experience the industry beyond the classroom.

“Engaging with students is an important part of how we see our role in the industry. We want young people not only to hear about career opportunities, but also to understand how construction works in practice, what skills the sector requires and what paths are open to them. By sharing our experience, we hope to help the next generation make more informed career choices and see the opportunities available within the industry,” said Ilias Demourtsidis, CEO of I.D Construction.

Through initiatives like these, I.D Construction aims to strengthen connections between education and the labour market and to share practical industry knowledge with future professionals.

More information about I.D Construction is available on the company’s official website and on Instagram, LinkedIn and Facebook.

China’s Leapmotor is making a bigger push into Europe, with a clear ambition to bring advanced electric-car technology within reach of more drivers, without the hefty price tag often associated with it. And with the backing of automotive giant Stellantis, the relatively young manufacturer is already making considerable headway.
Founded in 2015, Leapmotor has built its business around technology, developing electric systems, advanced software and digital features while keeping prices competitive. According to the company, the thinking behind this approach is that modern technology should not be reserved for expensive cars, but should be something far more motorists can enjoy.
Its European ambitions received a considerable boost in 2023, when Stellantis invested in the Chinese carmaker, leading to the creation of Leapmotor International. The joint venture is 51 per cent owned by Stellantis and 49 per cent by Leapmotor, giving the brand access to an extensive European sales and after-sales support network.
That matters, particularly for a manufacturer still establishing its name in Europe. Buying a car from a relatively unfamiliar brand is one thing, but knowing there is an established network to provide servicing and support is just as important.
The company’s growth figures tell their own story. According to Leapmotor, more than 600,000 vehicles were sold worldwide in 2025, while total deliveries since its establishment have passed the one million mark. The brand is now present in more than 40 markets, with a global network approaching 1,700 sales and service locations.
European drivers were first introduced to Leapmotor through the compact electric T03 and the larger C10 SUV. Since then, the range has grown to include models such as the B10 and B05, giving customers more choice across different vehicle categories.
And for those who like the idea of electric driving but are not quite ready to rely entirely on battery power, Leapmotor has also developed Range Extender technology. It offers another option for motorists considering the switch, rather than limiting them to fully electric models.
The company’s ties with Europe have been growing in other ways, too. In March 2026, Leapmotor opened its first Innovation Centre outside China, in Munich, bringing the manufacturer closer to European design and engineering expertise.
For a company founded just over a decade ago, the expansion has been remarkably quick. Its approach brings together smart technology, practical cars, competitive prices and an extensive support network, all of which are central to the brand’s ambitions.
And that, according to Leapmotor, is precisely the point. Making modern electric driving more accessible, rather than something reserved for those with the biggest budgets.

The University of Nicosia’s Institute for the Future (IFF) has completed a four-day professional training programme on crypto-assets for MOKAS, the Republic of Cyprus’ Financial Intelligence Unit.
The programme was awarded to UNIC following a competitive public tender and ran between 24-29 September 2026 at MOKAS premises in Nicosia. It was designed and delivered specifically for the Unit, following a needs assessment carried out with participating staff in advance.
The curriculum covered the technological foundations of crypto-assets and public blockchains; the European and Cypriot legal and regulatory framework, including the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation and the Transfer of Funds Regulation; the analysis of crypto-asset transactions and the tools used for that work; and the procedural dimension of locating, freezing and seizing crypto-assets.
Teaching was led by Dr Charis Savvides, with Professor George Giaglis, Executive Director of the IFF, and Professor Apostolos Kourtis.
“Crypto-assets are now a routine feature of financial crime reporting, and the skills needed to read that reporting properly are specific and learnable,” said Dr Savvides. “The aim was not to make anybody a blockchain specialist in four days. It was to give experienced financial intelligence professionals the technical grounding to interrogate what arrives on their desks with the same rigour they already apply to everything else.”
The University of Nicosia has taught blockchain and digital assets since 2013 and is the first university worldwide to offer a full academic degree in the field. Its IFF conducts research and delivers executive and professional education on distributed ledger technologies, digital assets and their regulation.
