Dax Shepard admits to hitting on an A-list actress while she was still married

Dax Shepard confessed to flirting with an A-list actress despite knowing she was married at the time.

During a recent episode of his "Armchair Expert" podcast, the 51-year-old actor was discussing his friendship with guests Erin and Sara Foster and how they got close when he was dating actress Kate Hudson,

The conversation then shifted to how Shepard and Hudson became a couple, with the actor's co-host, Monica Padman, sharing he was "obsessed" with Hudson way before they got together.

"What happened was I was friends with Oliver. I f- - -ing adore Oliver. I was at his house one night playing poker and she came and played and she was still with Chris," he said. "I just thought she was so f- - -ing beautiful and I was like 'Oh my god I can't believe she's here.'"

Despite knowing the actress was married, the podcast host said he "gave her everything I had in the reserve tank."

He recalled leaving that night thinking, "Well, that's as good of a job as one can do. She's married. Who cares?" and that he could walk away knowing he had "a great first showing."

Following Hudson's separation from Chris Robinson, Shepard ran into her at a dinner hosted by their mutual friend, Steve Brill, and took his chance.

"Now she's single and I’m like, ‘Let’s see if we can f- - -ing muster up this magic and get it going again,’" he said. "And then I got it going again. And then from that night on we were just together every single day."

The two dated for a few months in 2007 but remained friendly following their break-up.

During an appearance on his podcast in November 2019, Hudson and Shepard revealed that they initially were playing a joke on the paparazzi when they walked out of Nobu together holding hands, but then it ended up leading to something more.

"I was acting mad at the paparazzi that they were invading our privacy," Shepard explained. "And then it just somehow led to hanging out!"

"Then I wanted to have sex with him," Hudson added. "It was like the perfect move."

She is now engaged to Danny Fujikawa, who she began dating in 2016. They share one child together, a daughter named Rani, 8.

Tatum O'Neal steps out with family ahead of 63rd birthday years after near-fatal stroke

Tatum O'Neal was recently spotted enjoying a day out with her family in Los Angeles.

The "Little Darlings" star was photographed at a fan convention with her family, wearing a black dress paired with a coat, glasses and layered necklaces. She styled her hair in an updo and walked outside the convention with the assistance of a cane.

O'Neal was accompanied by her daughter Emily McEnroe and son-in-law Tim Massarelli.

The sighting comes ahead of the actress' 63rd birthday on Nov. 5 and more than six years after she had a near-fatal stroke in May 2020 following an overdose on morphine, opiates and pain medication.

'LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE' STAR SAYS CHILD ACTORS GET 'DROPPED' AFTER HOLLYWOOD FAME FADES

In a July 2023 interview with People, O'Neal and her son, Kevin McEnroe, opened up about the health scare, with her son telling the outlet there were moments when he and his siblings, Sean and Emily "didn't think she was going to survive."

McEnroe shared that in addition to the stroke, O'Neal had multiple seizures and went into cardiac arrest. She spent six weeks in a coma.

O'Neal has struggled with drug addiction for decades, with McEnroe saying she "had become very isolated" during the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, and had begun abusing medications, including some prescribed to her to treat neck and back pain and rheumatoid arthritis.

"She had become very isolated," he told People. "With the addition of morphine and heavier pharmaceuticals, it was getting scary. COVID, chronic pain, all these things led to a place of isolation. In that place, I don't think, for her, there was much hope."

O'Neal made her feature film debut in the 1973 movie, "Paper Moon," which she starred in alongside her famous father, Ryan O'Neal, at nine years old.

She went on to make history for her role in the film, as the youngest winner of a competitive Academy Award, when she took home the award for best supporting actress at the 46th Academy Awards in 1974, when she was 10 years old.

"All I really want to thank is my director Peter Bogdanovich and my father. Thank you," she said in her acceptance speech.

While she thanked her father in her speech, the two went on to have a turbulent relationship. In her 2004 autobiography, "A Paper Life," Tatum shared that their relationship first became rocky after making "Paper Moon," because he was jealous of her success.

In the book, she also alleged he physically and emotionally abused her, and said he was addicted to drugs.

Ryan O'Neal died in December 2023 at the age of 82 from congestive heart failure, and in a February 2025 interview with Variety, Tatum shared her reaction to being left out of his will, noting she only learned of the decision following his death.

"Keep it, motherf-----," she said. "The first book that I wrote was just a f---ing honest book. And that’s what got him."

'Baywatch' star Nicole Eggert exposes financial toll of cancer battle: 'The bills don't stop'

Nicole Eggert admitted that finances are a neglected conversation when it comes to fighting cancer.

Eggert, 54, was diagnosed with stage 2 cribriform carcinoma breast cancer in December 2023. Two years later, the actress revealed her cancer status was "NED," or no evidence of disease.

While the "Baywatch" star is a survivor of a club she "never wanted to be a part of," Eggert told Fox News Digital that the financial strains of her battle added an entirely different stressor to her life.

BRANDI GLANVILLE SPEAKS OUT ON COMPLEX DIAGNOSIS AND $6K MONTHLY MEDICAL BATTLE

"I'm a 100% single parent," Eggert explained. "One of my daughters is an adult, so she is very self-independent, and she does great, but I do have a teenager still at home ... I have that responsibility, and then I have all the household and homemaker, head of household responsibilities and then the cost of what this diagnosis brings, which is a lot ... really you can't even wrap your head around it."

‘BAYWATCH’ STAR NICOLE EGGERT SAYS IT'S ‘VERY HARD TO BE HEALTHY IN AMERICA’ AS SHE BATTLES CANCER

Eggert noted that the costs consistently "add up," so much so that she was afraid of being able to provide for her family.

"In my line of work, I couldn't commit to being on any kind of production because I'm gonna be in treatment and in and out of treatment ... three-to-five at least days a week," she said. "So, it's not like it's work from home kind of work."

She added, "I had to completely come to the realization that I wasn't gonna have income, and yet the bills don't stop, and the teenagers still need their things, and life needs their things and the car still needs the gas, and you know, all of it."

The "Charles in Charge" actress noted that when she took a step back and truly looked at the disease, "money seemed very trivial."

LINDA PERRY SAYS SHE WAS FEELING HEALTHY WHEN DOCTORS DISCOVERED ‘ANGRY’ CANCER BY CHANCE

"It's sort of like, well, 'Ah, I'm alive.' Then, you know, if you have any kind of financial strain, it's like, 'Well, at least you're alive to deal with it,'" she said. "At least you are alive where you can go out and fix it."

She added, "So there's that part too, where suddenly you're like, 'Wow, whatever. It's just it's just money.' And that comes and goes. So, you know, it's ebb and flow of life."

In December 2023, after experiencing unexplained weight gain and pain in her left breast, Eggert was diagnosed with a rare form of breast cancer.

She underwent her first mastectomy soon after, and later explained that she'd wanted to do a double mastectomy at the time, but her doctor advised that if she just had one breast removed, she'd be able to get into treatment faster, and her immune system wouldn't take as big a hit, so she agreed.

Over a year later, in August 2025, she had her other breast removed, and surgeons performed a reconstruction.

Eggert admitted that one major component in her cancer journey was being able to rely on community.

"You really have to find your community, and you really have to be OK with asking for help or asking other people how they do it, and getting tips and tricks and just all the information you can get," she said. "That's why these conversations are just so, so important and so necessary. Because what else would you do?"

As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Eggert partnered with Novartis and shared a little more insight into her cancer journey on the Voices of MORE podcast with Amy Robach and Dr. Helen Coons.

Eggert explained how helpful it can be for women to get together, share stories and find interwoven commonality in experiences.

"If we keep talking about these things, it becomes so much easier to talk about, and maybe we don't feel like we have to hide things anymore because in the past it's not ... it's kind of been a taboo topic," she said. "And now I think more and more women are becoming more comfortable to discuss what their journey looks like, what it feels like, how it's gone for them."

While the past has its place, Eggert is looking forward to the future and spending more time enjoying life to the fullest with her family.

"I also am really looking forward to stepping back into life not having to be in treatment or in the treatment facility with this newfound power and fearlessness that I have, and this new appreciation for life that I have, and It's like this second chance at life," she said.

"I know that that's so cliche, but it's to jump back in with all of these crazy changes that have happened in the past two years, three years. There's been very, very big changes inside myself."

She added, "So to be able to now go back into life and get back into the workforce and get back into doing things I enjoy with this new mindset, it's exciting. It's exciting!"

Liam Neeson's action movie shape doesn't require time in the gym.

During an interview with Fox News Digital, the actor, who stars in the newly released movie "The Mongoose," discussed how he stays in such good shape at 74.

"No, I don't go to a gym at all, but it behooves me, any actor or actress playing a lead, it behooves you to have a level of fitness," Neeson said. "You don't have to spend two hours in the gym every day. I used to, many years ago, but I keep reasonably fit."

Neeson said that staying in shape year round allows him to jump back into action scenes for movies.

Selma Blair breaks silence, weeks after arrest for alleged assault

Selma Blair on Friday apologized following her arrest after an alleged altercation with flight attendants on a Delta flight earlier this month.

The 54-year-old actress said her lawyers advised her not to say anything because of the ongoing legal matter but added, "Not one day ever have I intended to hurt or frighten anyone a day in my life. And, so, to the people I disappointed, that I hurt, I frightened, alarmed, I am so sorry."

In the emotional Instagram video, taken in what appeared to be her home, she added that she would be taking care of her health and her son "and thinking of you all with gratitude and love."

Blair was arrested for assault and arraigned Oct. 12 on two counts of second-degree assault stemming from alleged attacks on a Port Authority police officer and a nurse following her arrival at John F. Kennedy International Airport from Los Angeles. Police had responded to a call about a "physically abusive passenger" aboard Delta Flight 938.

SELMA BLAIR'S REP SPEAKS OUT AFTER STAR'S ARREST: ‘MUCH MORE TO THIS STORY’

Blair pleaded not guilty. The judge set bail at $20,000 cash, $60,000 bond or $60,000 partially secured bond. She's expected in court in January 2027.

"On Sunday, October 11, at approximately 11 p.m. at JFK Airport, PAPD responded to a call about a physically abusive passenger aboard Delta Airlines flight 938, which was parked at the gate after arrival from LAX," New York Port Authority officials confirmed to Fox News Digital.

"Suspect was identified as Selma Blair, a 54-year-old woman. She was taken into custody and transported to the hospital for evaluation."

According to court documents, Blair was restrained on a stretcher at the airport but freed her leg and allegedly kicked an officer in the face, neck and chest, causing substantial swelling. A nurse at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center, where Blair was taken, alleged that the actress kicked her in the chest while moving her.

Delta confirmed that law enforcement officials responded to an incident upon arrival at John F. Kennedy International Airport, a flight that departed Los Angeles earlier in the day.

"Delta has zero tolerance for unruly or unlawful behavior, as the safety of our customers and crew always comes first," Delta said in a statement. Sources told TMZ that Blair punched one flight attendant and bit another in the middle of the flight.

Law enforcement officials confirmed Blair was also separately served with a summons by the FBI and is facing one charge of assault.

At the time, the New York Post reported that Blair's lawyer told the court that the actress "missed several doses of … a powerful medication that controls severe neurological symptoms."

Representatives for Blair later shared a lengthy statement with People, saying the actress "did not intend to harm anyone."

"Since Sunday night, the public account of what happened to Selma aboard a flight to New York has been built almost entirely on a police statement and a decade-old headline," the spokesperson said.

"A handful of journalists have taken the time to report on Selma as a human being rather than a headline, and we are grateful to them," the statement continued. "But fair reporting has been the exception, and in the space left by our silence, speculation has hardened into something being treated as fact.

"We can, however, correct the record on a few points already in public circulation. Selma Blair experienced a medical emergency on the flight. There was no attempt to open the door of the aircraft. Selma did not intend to harm anyone."

The statement also addressed rumors the actress does not in fact have multiple sclerosis, a diagnosis she went public with in 2018. The spokesperson called those rumors "outrageous," noting, "What Selma has been able to do physically in the years since is nothing short of a miracle.

"There is much more to this story than has been reported, and we ask to consider the entirety of the facts before rushing to judgment, whether in the courtroom or in the court of public opinion."
