Tras el trágico accidente de trenes en Urda (Toledo), se ha cortado la línea de alta velocidad que enlaza Madrid con el sur, que mueve cada año a más de ocho millones de viajeros. Eso obliga a quienes tienen que desplazarse entre ambos puntos a buscar alternativas de transporte. La línea de autobús Madrid-Sevilla ha multiplicado por cinco el número de plazas, Iberia y Air Europa han incrementado los vuelos un 40%, mientras los viajes compartidos en coche en Blablacar se han sextuplicado. El Ministerio de Consumo ha detectado un aumento generalizado de los precios en los transportes alternativos al tren, como el avión, y monitoriza desde ese día los precios de otros medios de transporte. El departamento de Bustinduy intentará recuperar el mecanismo para limitar los precios que ya aprobó en febrero, pero PP, Vox y Junts tumbaron luego en el Congreso.
