Tras el trágico accidente de trenes en Urda (Toledo), se ha cortado la línea de alta velocidad que enlaza Madrid con el sur, que mueve cada año a más de ocho millones de viajeros. Eso obliga a quienes tienen que desplazarse entre ambos puntos a buscar alternativas de transporte. La línea de autobús Madrid-Sevilla ha multiplicado por cinco el número de plazas, Iberia y Air Europa han incrementado los vuelos un 40%, mientras los viajes compartidos en coche en Blablacar se han sextuplicado. Las asociaciones de consumidores alertan de que en estas situaciones suelen subir las tarifas de vuelos o coches de alquiler y piden recuperar el mecanismo de Consumo para topar los precios del transporte en emergencias que las derechas vetaron en el Congreso.
