If you are having a bad day, just remember that you could always be a beer in the state of Wisconsin.
To say the Milwaukee Brewers had a good time at their World Series parade on Friday would be an understatement. Brewers right fielder Sal Frelick made one of the boldest declarations of the year at the rally.
"I’m going to have a beer for every single person here, I’m having 100,000 beers! Let’s go!" Frelick screamed into the microphone.
It’s been an incredible 24 hours for the 26-year-old, as he performed the Lambeau Leap when the Brewers brought the Commissioner’s Trophy onto the field during the Green Bay Packers game Thursday night. During his speech Friday, he made sure to let the raucous crowd know that captain Christian Yelich couldn't tackle him like a football player, either.
During Frelick’s speech, he said his best friends are all on the team and that they hang out with each other around the clock off the field. The Brewers displayed the power of friendship when they convinced the event organizers to bring hitting coach Daniel Vogelbach onstage to deliver a speech.
Now, to say Vogelbach may have had a few beers might also be an understatement. The Brewers players didn't just want Vogelbach to give a speech; they wanted him to sing karaoke.
Vogelbach, who surely won’t be on "American Idol" or "The Voice" anytime soon, then began singing a couple of verses from Fountains of Wayne’s hit. Despite Vogelbach’s less-than-ideal singing voice, the crowd and players were jubilant, dancing and singing along with the hitting coach.
Safe to say, the vibes were incredibly high in Milwaukee.
Nicki Minaj is taking aim at Kathy Hochul, branding the New York governor an "evil woman" and urging voters to reject her in favor of Republican Bruce Blakeman ahead of the Nov. 3 gubernatorial election.
Minaj unleashed a series of posts on X Wednesday, accusing Hochul of failing to speak out against what the rapper described as harm to innocent people and calling on Black voters and Christians to turn against the governor.
"Kathy Hochul is an evil woman. The Democratic Party should forfeit her seat because even if she wins, she will be of great consequence to them. Downward spiral for her. She will not escape God’s wrath. She did not denounce evil when she had the chance," Minaj wrote.
The "Super Bass" singer also delivered an all-caps response to a video she reposted featuring Hochul’s controversial 2024 remark that there were "Black kids growing up in the Bronx who don’t even know what the word ‘computer’ is." Hochul apologized for the remark at the time, saying she "misspoke, and I regret it."
"How much more do you need to see & hear from them?!! How dare you as black people vote for this vile wicked curse of a woman? How dare you as Christians?! She stays silent on harm being caused to the innocent & this is what she thinks of your children! Vote Blakeman!" she posted.
Minaj also reposted a video of Hochul joking about liquor store visits while promoting her inflation rebate initiative to a predominantly Black congregation at True Bethel Baptist Church in 2025.
"Don't stop by the liquor store, OK? Buy something for the kids. Buy them some food. Sometimes I have to stop by the liquor store, too. I understand," Hochul said.
"So not only does she keep horrible company & laugh at the demonic things her friends do behind the scenes to people who aren't as politically powerful…Dear God, help us," Minaj wrote in response.
Hochul pushed back against Minaj's criticism during a recent campaign appearance.
When asked about Minaj's comments during a campaign stop, the governor suggested the rapper's appearances with Trump had influenced her views.
"I don’t play games in this business. This is serious," the governor said. "You can ask her what she's been, how she's been poisoned by Donald Trump," Hochul said.
"After Donald Trump and MAGA world has vanished, and they go back into their dark holes where they came from, hopefully we can have a reawakening, and people like her and others will realize that they were fed a vision of this country that is not what Americans feel. And, so, being an outlier right now, that’s her choice."
When Hochul was asked whether she would welcome Cardi B's endorsement, the governor dismissed the suggestion that the exchange was a celebrity rivalry.
Some social media users praised Hochul's response, arguing that voters should focus on her record rather than the opinions of celebrities.
"Exactly, that’s how you are supposed to answer," one user wrote.
"Great response! This is no time for games. Forget what these celebs have to say. Vote for the rights of you and your loved ones," another commented.
A third added, "Decent response. Constituents should focus on the resume of said elected official and not that of any 'celebrity.'"
Other social media users appeared to side with Minaj.
"All she plays are games dangerous ones at that protecting criminal illegal aliens. The woman had destroyed New York State. Vote @NassauExec& save New York," one user commented.
"She doesn't play games.. unless it's with out lives. Nicki got it 100% correct: @KathyHochul is a VILE WICKED CURSE OF A WOMAN," another wrote.
"You just told a large percentage of your constituents they need to go back to the "dark hole they came from"… which party is causing the divide again?" added another.
Fox News Digital reached out to Minaj and Hochul for comment.
The exchange comes as Minaj has publicly supported Trump and appeared alongside him at campaign events for Republican candidates.
At a Republican campaign rally in Port Huron, Michigan, Sunday, Oct. 25, Trump invited Minaj onstage as he campaigned for Republican U.S. Senate candidate Mike Rogers and gubernatorial candidate John James.
The rapper used the appearance to reaffirm her support for Trump, saying she would back him again if he sought another term.
"President Trump, it is an honor to stand with you every single time," Minaj said. "And I will continue to support you forever and ever. If you run again, I will support you again."
A Southside Virginia lawmaker is demanding an investigation after a constituent received an official rights-restoration certificate for his dog, Biscuit, a beagle-hound mix from Goochland County that died about five years ago.
The discovery follows the "Betty No Last Name" controversy in Chesapeake — where a purported convict lacking a surname had "her" rights restored — and raises fresh questions about the governor's vetting process just days before voters decide whether to make felons' voting-rights restoration automatic via an Election Day ballot measure supported by Richmond Democrats.
Del. Tom Garrett, R-Buckingham — who received the letter from the constituent who owned the pet — is now calling for an investigation into how Gov. Abigail Spanberger could have restored voting and jury-service rights to a deceased animal.
"This is not a question of whether people who have served their sentences deserve a second chance. This is a question of whether the Commonwealth is exercising one of the Governor’s constitutional powers with even the most basic level of review," Garrett said.
"Biscuit was a dog. Biscuit has been dead for five years. Yet an official document bearing the governor’s signature says the executive reviewed the particulars of Biscuit’s criminal case and determined her rights should be restored. Virginians deserve an explanation for how that is possible."
Biscuit’s owner, who declined to be identified to avoid political backlash, confirmed the letter's authenticity to Fox News Digital and told Garrett in a statement that the pup was a "good dog and is greatly missed."
"To my knowledge, she was never convicted of a felony, nor did she ever show any interest in voting," the owner said.
Fox News Digital reached out to Spanberger for comment.
A spokesperson for Spanberger replied, "Of course we did not restore the rights of a dog. We cannot disclose this individual's information, but we can tell you that it is associated with a person with a date of birth and Social Security number."
Fox News Digital followed up to seek clarification on what error may have occurred but did not receive a response.
The owner told Fox News Digital that Biscuit was never sent to the pound or had any other contact with Richmond that could have resulted in her being placed on the voting rolls. The owner said a sibling is currently incarcerated but added that the connection is moot because Spanberger’s stated effort only involves released former convicts.
Garrett noted in a statement that the Spanberger administration said in July that Secretary of the Commonwealth Candi Mundon-King would be "proactively identifying Virginians who had lost their rights, confirming that those individuals were eligible, and restoring their rights," in his words.
Spanberger announced in August that the initial figure of 66,000 had reached 100,000 individuals who had received restoration of their rights since the Democrat took office in January.
"The administration told Virginians these individuals were being identified and their eligibility confirmed," Garrett said in a statement, going on to call for an investigation into how a restoration certificate bearing Biscuit's name came to be issued.
"The document itself represents that the executive reviewed the particulars of each case. If a deceased family pet made it through that process as a convicted felon, then we need to know what was actually reviewed, what databases were used, what safeguards existed, and how many other erroneous restorations were issued."
An attorney in Fluvanna County when not legislating, Garrett said the Commonwealth must launch an immediate independent audit of Spanberger’s restoration-of-rights actions and disclose the underlying record that led to "Biscuit Rigsby" being identified as a convicted felon, as well as what Spanberger’s office defines as the "review of the particulars" of Biscuit’s case.
Any investigation should also identify how many certificates and citations were issued to deceased, nonexistent or duplicate humans and require the immediate preservation of relevant data.
He said in a statement that his questions are not partisan and that Virginians who support restoring released felons’ voting rights should be outraged by Biscuit’s case.
"At what point does rank incompetence and malfeasance become criminal conduct?" Garrett added in a video posted to social media.
With Virginians set to vote Tuesday on whether to make voting-rights restoration automatic upon release from incarceration, Garrett is demanding answers about the administration's existing review process — including how a dog that died five years ago apparently made it through.
It is almost certainly over for Troy Aikman and Joe Buck as ESPN’s lead NFL broadcast team.
Reports that the ongoing drama is part of a leverage strategy now appear increasingly implausible. No one with knowledge of the situation expects Aikman to remain with ESPN beyond the end of this season.
In fact, there is more industry discussion about whether Aikman and Buck can work together through ESPN’s Super Bowl broadcast in February than about whether Aikman will re-sign with the network.
According to sources in and around ESPN, the prevailing expectation is that Aikman will leave, and the network will sign Greg Olsen to replace him in March.
Several outlets have reported on a confrontation between Buck and Aikman earlier this month before a Monday Night Football match up. Buck reportedly confronted Aikman for ignoring him, while Aikman accused Buck of sabotaging his contract negotiations by signing his own deal first.
Although the confrontation generated attention, it did not drive ESPN’s decision. The network decided this summer to move on from Aikman after re-signing Buck to a six-year, $108 million extension without offering Aikman a new contract.
It remains somewhat unclear why ESPN chose not to negotiate with Aikman, beyond his growing tensions with Buck in recent years. The best explanation is that ESPN viewed their relationship as irreparable and Buck as the more valuable asset.
If forced to choose, ESPN’s preference for Buck over Aikman is understandable.
For one, Buck and ESPN chairman Jimmy Pitaro share an interest in ESPN potentially acquiring the World Series after the 2029 season. If ESPN secures the event, sources say Pitaro wants Buck to call it, as he did for years at Fox.
ESPN also has more options to replace Aikman than it would have to replace Buck. The pool of potential replacements for the color analyst role extends beyond Olsen. In theory, Drew Brees, Jason Kelce, Eli Manning, Peyton Manning, Kurt Warner and Dan Orlovsky are also suitable options.
Further, Hall of Fame players and coaches retire every year, and many show interest in broadcasting. Several networks have already expressed interest in Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford if they eventually move into television.
No such farm system exists for elite play-by-play announcers. On paper, the gap between Buck and the rest of the field remains significant. Granted, Dave Pasch, who calls college football and NBA games, has impressed on ESPN’s NFL International broadcasts this season.
So, we understand why ESPN would choose Buck over Aikman. The point of contention is that the network could mend the fences and retain them both.
Even 25 years later, Buck and Aikman are still often recognized as the best duo in sports broadcasting. Whether Buck and Olsen, assuming Olsen is the replacement, can develop comparable chemistry is a question mark.
After years of disappointing rotations, ESPN finally established a top-level booth in Buck and Aikman. Breaking them up feels like an unnecessary risk.
We understand that relationships are difficult, especially work relationships that span more than two decades. But at $18 million to $20 million per year each, ESPN should have been able to make the partnership work if it believed they were still the best duo for the position.
Well, Miami Heat fans, you actually got a fixed-up Dwyane Wade statue before "Grand Theft Auto VI."
Just barely, and note that before "GTA VI" started taking over your arena, but still...
You may recall that two years ago, the Heat unveiled a statue honoring franchise legend Dwyane Wade. It quickly went viral, and not because it belongs in the Louvre.
At what point in human history did we stop making good statues? How did some dude with a chisel during the Renaissance make a perfect sculpture of a Greek god, but nailing the visage of an athlete — who we can all picture or you can physically look at a picture — is now hard?
We've seen it happen to Cristiano Ronaldo; Allen Iverson got one so small you could use it as a paperweight, and of course, there's Wade's.
By "enhancements," they mean it looks more like Wade than it used to, which it didn't feel like at all.
What an improvement, although, truthfully, a kid with a box of Crayolas (64-count, with the sharpener; the good one) could have made some improvements on that original one.
It's good they got that fixed, but it's not like everyone's mind is going to be wiped "Men in Black"-style so they forget the first abomination.
And, honestly, I think people are going to miss the original statue that was allegedly of Dwyane Wade.
Now, there's nothing remarkable, good or bad, about it, and I think in a few years, people will be clamoring for that statue that looks as if D-Wade stumbled into the "Backrooms."
Target is joining the Thanksgiving meal-deal race with a pitch that pairs budget-friendly staples with fresh twists on holiday favorites.
The Minneapolis-based retailer's $30 offer is about $10 more than last year's meal, which served four people, but Target says this year's version serves six, keeping the cost at about $5 per person.
The deal includes nine grocery items: a Butterball turkey weighing up to 10 pounds, a 3-pound bag of russet potatoes, cranberry sauce, two cans of green beans, cream of mushroom soup, fried onions, turkey stuffing mix, turkey gravy and two take-and-bake baguettes, according to a release shared with Fox News Digital.
"Thanksgiving and Friendsgiving are such joyful moments for our guests, and Target is making it easy and budget-friendly for them to plan meals that include plenty of familiar favorites plus some of the latest food trends," John Conlin, senior vice president of merchandising for food and beverage at Target, said in a statement.
The offering includes the ingredients to make a green bean casserole, and shoppers should expect to prepare and cook the rest of the meal themselves.
Target is also promoting an expanded selection of $5 sides, pies, appetizers and wine, including new flavors and products.
The deal is valid Nov. 8 through Nov. 29, before tax.
It is not available in Alaska or Hawaii, according to Target.
In a Twin Cities Reddit discussion, shoppers focused on the change in quantities, with some debating whether this year's offering had fewer potatoes and more green beans.
Others still saw value, especially as grocery prices in the U.S. remain high.
"Sounds like a good deal for a meal anyhow," one person wrote.
Target's announcement comes as other retailers promote their own Thanksgiving meal deals.
Aldi says its meal can feed 10 for less than $39, while Sam's Club has an 11-item feast for 16 people priced at about $160, according to reports.
Costco, for its part, is offering an online-only bundle for $199.99 that it says serves eight and includes 12 items, including a turkey breast, sides and desserts.
Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs said that his touchdown celebration was not intended to make light of his offseason arrest but was instead inspired by a gospel song.
After scoring his first touchdown of the game in the team's 27-19 win over the Carolina Panthers on Thursday night, Jacobs put his hands behind his back in celebration. Thursday's game was Jacobs' second since coming off the commissioner's exempt list, which he had been on since August following a May altercation with his then-girlfriend, who said he threw her to the ground.
Jacobs pleaded no contest last month to misdemeanor charges of battery and criminal damage to property. He insisted the celebration had nothing to do with his arrest as speculation spread on social media that the gesture referenced his off-field issues.
"They didn't even get the whole celebration. Um, s---, it was f------ one second that (the broadcast) just showed me," Jacobs told reporters after the game.
"But anyways, me and (wide receiver Savion Williams) came up with a celebration. They would have seen the whole celebration. Basically, last week we said the first celebration when I scored, I was going to thank God. That's what I did last week. The second was going to be break every chain. It's a gospel song. That was going to be the next celebration. It's just a correlation, but like I said, the media going to run with it. They going to make it that it wouldn't. But it is what it is."
After Jacobs scored his first touchdown last weekend in the team's loss to the Detroit Lions, he dropped to his knees and raised his arms. "Break Every Chain" is a gospel song written by Will Reagan in 2009 and popularized by a live recording by Tasha Cobbs Leonard in 2013.
Jacobs had not been allowed to play or practice while on the commissioner’s exempt list. He was removed from the list last week, allowing him to play again even though the NFL's investigation into his conduct remains ongoing.
In his two games since returning to the 5-3 Packers, Jacobs has rushed 32 times for 75 yards and a touchdown, averaging just 2.3 yards per carry. The three-time Pro Bowler has been more productive as a receiver, catching 11 passes for 68 yards and two touchdowns.
The NBA has NBA Cup games today, and if you don't know what that means, no problem. I'll help you out.
Mostly, it means these games matter a bit more because if you win the NBA Cup, you win extra money. For some of the players, it means they basically double their salary - these are mostly role players and some rookies. However, the NBA Cup is also pretty cool because the teams actually seem to care about winning it. Tonight the Hornets take on the Wizards and I'm a bit baffled at the line on the game.
The Charlotte Hornets are not as terrible as you might think if you haven't followed the game recently. They don't have LaMelo Ball, but for this team, that might actually be a good thing. They are able to unleash Brandon Miller a bit more. Kon Knueppel showed that he might be the best rookie from last year (and certainly the best not named Cooper Flagg). The team has Naz Reid, Dennis Schröder, and a ton of role player/veterans that actually do make a difference.
So far, the team is 3-2 and has beaten the Nets, Heat, and Wizards. The Nets are a bad team. The Heat and Wizards games were in Charlotte. Their two losses were to Detroit and Atlanta, both playoff teams. I do expect Washington to be a playoff team. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Hornets find their way into the postseason, but most likely they will be a play-in team. The biggest issue for the Hornets right now is the health of their team. They are without Coby White, Knueppel, Grant Williams, and Schroder is a game-time decision.
The Washington Wizards are also better than you probably realize. The biggest challenge for this team is going to be how quickly they can gel. I'm going to first start by sharing the second unit for the squad. Bub Carrington/Tre Mann, Tre Johnson, Bilal Coulibaly/Justin Champagnie, Khris Middleton, and DeAndre Ayton. A team of Mann, Coulibaly, Champagnie, Middleton, and Ayton would likely win 20-30 games in a season. They are all reserves for a reason, but this is a very deep bench.
The starters got even better because they just added AJ Dybantsa, who will win Rookie of the Year. I watched him play for five minutes against the Cavs, and I placed a bet on it the next day. Dybantsa already looks polished, smarter, and more versatile than any other rookie out there. Again, all of this hinges on how well the team plays together. Also, if the team trades Anthony Davis, as is the discussion, it would hurt them, but they could get good value in return.
Tonight, though, the Wizards are at home, where they've gone just 1-1. They play a team they just lost to a few days ago. They are playing in an NBA Cup game, so the effort should be there. And their team is just better than the Hornets. I'm making a major move on this game, and I will take the Wizards on the moneyline at -118.
I'm a side sleeper, no matter how hard I try to sleep on my back. Side sleeping isn't necessarily bad, but it's made it a challenge to find a pillow that cradles my head and neck without leaving me stiff or achy in the morning — until now. After sleeping on the Layla BioCrystal Side Sleeper Pillow, I finally found what I would consider to be the ideal setup for side sleepers. It's soft, yet supportive, and I've noticed a meaningful difference in my nightly comfort.
Now through Nov. 26, FOX readers can get an extra 20% off the sale price of both BioCrystal pillows with code FOXDEAL. That brings the Side Sleeper Pillow down to $119 and the Classic Pillow to $111.
Side sleepers know how difficult it can be to find a comfortable position and stay there. Traditional pillows don't always provide enough support for your shoulder and neck, and can flatten throughout the night.
Layla's BioCrystal Side Sleeper Pillow strikes a comfortable balance between softness and support. Its adjustable loft lets you choose among 7, 6 or 5 inches, while the U-shaped cutout gives your shoulder more room to rest naturally. Since I prefer to sleep slightly elevated, I've kept mine at the full 7-inch loft and find it to be the perfect height.
My neck and shoulders melt into the U-shape (rather than being forced into an awkward position) and, better yet, continues to support me when I switch sides or roll onto my back throughout the night. The foam feels soft and responsive when I press into it, but it's firm enough to hold its shape under the weight of my head. I also appreciate that it doesn't feel overly dense.
What is BioCrystal technology?
According to Layla, BioCrystal technology infuses a blend of 16 natural crystals throughout the pillow's foam layers. The brand says the technology is designed to help regulate temperature and promote a more restorative sleep experience.
I can’t speak to the effects of the crystals themselves, but I do notice that the pillow feels comfortably cool when I first lie down. It also doesn’t seem to trap as much heat as some memory foam pillows I’ve tried. The overall feel is soft, plush and lightly cooling.
What you should know
The pillow measures 16 by 23.5 inches, weighs 5.7 pounds and has an adjustable 5- to 7-inch loft. It fits standard pillowcases, but the U-shaped design makes a fully enclosed case — such as one with a zipper or fold-over closure — the best option. Pillowcases with one open end may slide out of place.
I noticed a new-pillow smell, also known as off-gassing, during the first week or two. It has gradually faded, but shoppers who are sensitive to scents may want to air it out before using it.
The cover is removable and machine washable. Layla recommends washing it in warm water on a gentle cycle with like colors and tumble drying it on low. Do not use bleach. The four foam layers should only be spot-cleaned and allowed to air-dry completely. Keep the foam out of the washer and dryer, since excessive water and high heat can damage its structure.
My final thoughts
The Layla BioCrystal Side Sleeper Pillow is a strong option for side sleepers who want structured support, a higher profile and the ability to adjust the height. The shoulder cutout gives it an advantage over traditional rectangular pillows, especially if you tend to wake up with neck or shoulder discomfort.
Back and stomach sleepers may prefer the Layla BioCrystal Classic Pillow. My husband sleeps on it every night and appreciates its plush support, adjustable loft and roomy design, which keeps his head and neck comfortably supported when he’s lying on his back.
'Nightcaps' is a daily column that catches you up on the biggest sports, news and culture stories you may have missed while pretending to do work at your desk. It runs Monday-Friday on OutKick.com.
Happy Halloween Eve to all who celebrate! Big day. Big Friday. Big weekend in front of us.
Like I said earlier this week ... this is our last big push until the holiday season suffocates us starting Sunday morning. Everything will flip in the blink of an eye.
You'll go to bed with the Halloween theme song in your heads, and wake up to jingle bells. Whether you like it or not, it's coming. There is no stopping it.
I can already see Mariah Carey's stupid "All I Want for Christmas" social media post now. It's coming. There's nothing we can do about it. We're cornered.
That's a Sunday problem, though. For now, we respect the fall. We respect Halloween.
Let's roll.
Welcome to a Friday Nightcaps — the one where poor Billy Napier joined Mike Norvell in making some embarrassing history last night at James Madison.
What else? I've got Maggie Sajak looking like a million bucks for Halloween, Angel Reese giving us one more highlight reel before this WNBA season mercifully ends, and can we quit complaining about "injury protection" in sports gambling?
I'm admittedly at fault, too, but enough is enough already. You know what? Society went DECADES gambling on sports with no such thing as "injury protection," and it worked pretty well. And now every sports book is supposed to issue refunds if a player gets hurt?
Why?
Grab you your favorite Michael Myers mask (I'm partial to Rob Zombie's "Halloween" mask), and settle in for a Friday 'Cap!
Billy Napier's JMU tenure is going well!
I don't know how many "Halloween"buffs we have in class today, but those of you who have been around here long enough know it's my favorite movie franchise of all time.
I did the Mount Rushmore of Halloween movies a few weeks ago, so I won't rehash that today. BUT, I did find out this morning while doing the award-winning OutKick newsletter that the original "Halloween" mask from 1978 was ... a Captain Kirk mask?
Seriously:
The more you know ...
Anyway, I will be watching the original "Halloween" (1978) tomorrow night, as per usual. I save that one for Halloween night, like any sane person would do.
It's the only way to close out October. Sad. Winter is coming.
OK, let's get class started by checking in on someone who is very much looking forward to flipping the calendar ...
Billy Napier!
Angel Reese wasn't her best last night
Amazing stat.
James Madison joined Florida State last night as teams to lose back-to-back games as double-digit favorites. Incredible.
Do we have any Dukes fans in class today? I'd imagine so. I come from a James Madison family. My grandma went there way back when it was simply called "Madison." My dad went there. I toured the campus as a high school senior and loved it.
That town deserves way better than Billy Napier, and I'm speaking now as a Florida fan. I'm so sorry, JMU fans. We've been there before. I promise. We spent the last four years feeling exactly how you've felt the last two weeks.
What kind of play call was that on fourth down in overtime? Just awful. But, that's Billy Ball for you.
Embarrassing.
Speaking of ... let's check in with Angel Reese after yesterday's big Game 6 win!
Maggie, sports betting & election szn is almost over!
Lordy.
Look, it was a tough game for Angel Reese. No sugarcoating it. No hiding it. Just to show you how truly bad everyone else was, Reese somehow finished with a +/- of +10, which is stunning given she turned the ball over six times and made just 27% of her shots.
Feels like that shouldn't equate to positive play on the court, but what do I know?
Anyway, this will be my final non-Sophie Cunningham WNBA story for seven months. The season, mercifully, ends tomorrow night. It feels like it's dragged on FOREVER. It just won't end!
But at 8 p.m. tomorrow night — a COLLEGE FOOTBALL SATURDAY — we'll get a Game 7. Who's watching?!
Show of hands ...
Anyone?
Bueller?
Okeedokee! Moving on ...
Let's rapid-fire this Friday class into a big Halloween weekend, and start it off by celebrating the end of something else: Election season.
Four more days, folks. We're almost there.
That's one of the funnier pictures I've seen in a long time. Just amazing stuff. Well done to whoever took it.
Are you guys getting inundated with calls and texts right now? Lord knows I am. Hand to God, I got a text last night from James Talarico asking for money.
James Talarico! I live in Florida. These people are NUTS. They're just unrelenting. Freaking Byron Donalds texts me 14 times a day making sure I'm gonna vote.
Byron, you got my vote, pal. I promise. You're good. I'd prefer we just stick with DeSantis, but I realize that's not possible, so you're next in line.
For the love of God, please leave me alone. I'm begging you.
Next? Let's quickly check in with Christian Watson after last night's game in which he left in an ambulance, and then returned like nothing happened:
So, there's a big debate over on Elon's app right now about injury protection, which is a fairly new thing sports books have come up with over the past few years. Basically, they'll void straight bets and parlay lines if the player you bet on gets hurt and doesn't return to the game.
It sounds great on paper, right? Again, it's bailed me out a few times.
But now everyone is in an UPROAR because Watson looked to be voided last night, only for him to miraculously return to the game.
I think it's hogwash. About a month ago, I was complaining to my dad about a player getting injured and tanking one of my bets, and I mentioned injury protection.
"Huh?" he responded. "Why would the books refund you? You lost. Tough nuts."
He was right. The bellyaching over injury protection is insane to me. Frankly, I don't think any book should do it. I'm glad they do, but it seems like a lose-lose for them, no?
DeWalt has long been the go-to brand for serious DIYers and professionals. With a reputation for making tough cordless tools with long battery lives, it's no surprise the brand is a FOX-reader favorite. Right now, save up to 54% on drills, circular saws, shop lights and multitools, with every pick backed by Amazon customer reviews.
Tool sets
Build your tool collection with these DeWalt kits.
DeWalt's drill and driver combo stands out for its lightweight design and long-lasting battery life. "I have used these drills daily on small engine repairs for years," one reviewer wrote. "They are dependable, the batteries last for days before recharging, and they're lightweight and easy to handle." The set is now at a 90-day low, making it a strong time to buy.
Amazon reviewers say this seven-tool kit is worth the investment. "The pieces in this kit are built to a higher standard. This is a must-have set of tools for carpenters. Each one is durable and simply performs quite well. Nothing flimsy or cheap about these tools whatsoever," one reviewer said.
If you're replacing an older drill, this DeWalt model is worth considering. One reviewer wrote: "DeWalt always delivers a top-notch tool. The torque supplied is insane and exceeds my plugged-in drill. The ability to have that much power without an annoying cord is great."
A DeWalt circular saw makes precise, straight cuts without the hassle of a cord. "It has all the features and power of a top quality corded skill saw, and it's lightweight," said one reviewer. "I've been in construction since 1980, and have used most all light and heavy-duty power tools. This saw ranks among the best I've used in cordless saws."
Amazon shoppers praise this top-selling jigsaw for its power and precision. "It cuts through wood and other materials smoothly," one reviewer wrote. "It feels solid and well-built — just like you'd expect from DeWalt. The grip is comfortable, and the vibration is minimal, which makes longer jobs much easier."
The lightweight design makes this reciprocating saw easier to handle for a range of projects. One reviewer with back issues found the design to be the "perfect" solution. "[The] batteries last a long time … The pruning blade works like a knife through butter," they added.

While the NFL Draft isn't until next April, that never stops general managers, scouts and even fans from opining on what their teams will do in the spring.
It's the main reason why mock drafts exist and are created nearly a year in advance, because everyone is dying to know who their favorite team is going to select with their first round pick.
Of course, because it's the most important position on the field, the quarterback draws the most amount of eyes when it comes to the first round of the draft, and the 2027 edition is no exception.
There are several draft-eligible signal callers who are generating plenty of buzz, but one expert thinks this might be the year to skip out on the position altogether if a team holds a top pick.
Brooks Austin has made a living studying college football film, so much so that he's earned the moniker "The Film Guy."
His YouTube channel, "The Film Guy Network," has over 135,000 subscribers, and he's recently parlayed that into a partnership with the college football media giant On3.
Suffice to say, Austin knows ball, so when I sat down with him to talk about the college game, and more specifically, the quarterback class for the 2027 NFL Draft, he gave a surprising assessment.
"Can I punt on the entire class," he asked, half jokingly.
As Austin points out, there are some solid quarterbacks in this class, but none are the "can't miss" prospects that would necessitate a top-five pick like in years past.
Most experts figured Oregon's Dante Moore would be the first QB off the board in '27, given he was already projected to go high last year before deciding to return to Eugene.
An injury might have derailed that for Moore, but as Austin points out, the injured Duck wasn't without some limitations of his own even before exiting for the season.
"Dante Moore is a really good football player," he explains. "But (he) gets stuck on reads and makes his mind up pre-snap, and that scares me. He's also a little up and down, like from a fundamental standpoint, from a mechanics standpoint, he just kinda gets away with a lot of it in college football."
Moore wasn't the only one giving Austin some pause.
Ole Miss's Trinidad Chambliss, one of the preseason Heisman favorites, has had a fine season statistically, but his build makes Austin nervous about him at the next level.
"I love him, but there are some physical questions about that one as well, like, is he gonna work at his stature when we get to the league?"
Other quarterbacks like Texas' Arch Manning and LSU's Sam Leavitt get mentioned as well, with Austin stating question marks about their decision making and turnover problems.
The prospect who Austin believes should go number one overall shouldn't come as a shock to anyone who watches football on Saturday.
"If I had the number one overall pick, I'd draft Jeremiah Smith," Austin admits. "And then next year I try to find a quarterback."
Austin explains that Smith, the Ohio State wide receiver, is a "guarantee" and one of the only truly generational prospects we've seen in the game since Andrew Luck in 2012.
"I would draft Smith, and I'd be like, 'I've got the best prospect and most known prospect that's come out of college football... since maybe like Andrew Luck,'" Austin claims. "I would just draft him if I was bad enough to be the number one overall pick."
There's nothing worse than waking up at 3 a.m. sweating, and desperately searching for the cool side of the pillow. If that's you, the solution might just be a mattress from Nectar. All of Nectar's mattresses have cooling fibers woven into the surface fabric, designed to cool down your body temperature and keep you sleeping through the night, regardless of the season.
Nectar memory foam mattresses are ideal for hot sleepers, with a cool-to-the-touch sleeping surface. The foam relieves pressure on your joints, conforms to your body and responds to your movement through the night, helping support your body while cooling you (and minimizing movement for a partner sleeping in the same bed).
You can choose from Classic, Premier and Luxe memory foam mattresses. As you move up the line, the cooling and pressure-relieving properties double and triple.
If you're an especially hot sleeper, consider the Ultra memory foam mattress, which has four times the cooling properties of the Classic model. It contains a separate sheet of phase change materials layered on top of the memory foam to help regulate temperature. Phase change materials in the Nectar Ultra can absorb or release heat as they change phase. That means it pulls heat away from your body when you're too warm and releases heat back out towards your body when you're too cold, so you always stay at the perfect temperature throughout the night.
There are more than 200 5-star reviews, many of which praise the cooling properties. "Absolutely the best mattress I have ever laid my head on," said one reviewer. "First night was the best night's sleep I have had in years. The comfort of the mattress helped me fall asleep quickly and the cooling effect helped me sleep all night."
All of Nectar's foam used is CertiPUR-US certified, which means it's free from ozone-depleting substances and harmful pollutants.
Hybrid mattresses combine the pressure-relieving support of memory foam with innerspring coils. These help with reducing motion transfer, which is perfect for those sleeping with partners. Nectar's Hybrid Luxe mattress would be ideal for extremely hot sleepers who toss and turn or have partners that move in their sleep.
The coils allow for more airflow in your mattress, rather than air getting trapped in the dense memory foam. There are Premier and Luxe versions of the hybrid mattress, which get more and more cooling as you move up the line.
NectarCool technology: The optional upgrade
For an additional cost, NectarCool is an optional cover upgrade on eligible Nectar Classic, Premier, and Luxe memory foam and hybrid models. It adds cooling polyethylene fibers to the cover for a cooler-to-the-touch feel, designed to bring down your temperature as you sleep.
How the NectarCool upgrade fits each tier
Classic: The standard cover has a cool-to-the-touch feel; NectarCool adds more cooling fibers.
Premier: The standard cover has about 60% more cooling fibers than Classic; NectarCool adds more to that cover.
Luxe: The standard cover has about twice as many cooling fibers as Classic; NectarCool adds more to the Luxe cover.
Ultra: The separate NectarCool cover upgrade isn’t offered since Ultra already includes top-tier cooling with four times more cooling fibers and phase-change material as the standard.
You can sleep on the mattress for up to a year and return it for a refund if you don’t like it. Call or email Nectar, and the company will help you find a charity to donate it to.
If a mattress develops a problem within 10 years, Nectar will replace it. After 10 years, the company will repair it.
On top of the mattress deal, you can snag Nectar's Serenity Sleep Bundle for 66% off when you bundle it with your mattress purchase. It comes with a mattress protector, a sheet set and two cooling pillows for $179.
The waterproof mattress cover protects it from spills and stains, without taking away from the breathability of your sleeping surface. Plus, it's machine-washable for easy cleanup.
The two included pillows have cooling fibers woven into the foam, similar to the brand's foam mattresses, to keep you even cooler through the night. With a classic sheet set, you have everything you need to completely make your bed for one budget-friendly price.
The start of the NBA season has actually been a lot of fun. The teams have looked good; they are enjoyable, and the betting has gone very well for me. I have a major move tonight in the Hornets-Wizards game, and I'm looking to score more in another early-season matchup. We've already seen this one play out this season, but I have a lot of excitement for the game between the Lakers and Warriors that takes place tonight at Golden State.
The Lakers are now the Luka Lakers. There is no more LeBron, and the keys have been handed over to one of the top assets in the entire league. How has that worked out for Los Angeles through the early portion of the season? The team is 4-1, with the lone loss coming against a surprisingly good Portland team. To start the season, they've beaten the Warriors by 22, the Clippers by eight, the Jazz by nine, and the Clippers by 16. None of those three teams will be playoff contenders.
They now take on the Warriors for the second time in the early season as part of the NBA Cup Group Play. This is the third game in four nights for the Lakers, but not a back-to-back. Still, legs could be a bit tired. However, this is almost certainly a game that Luka circled on the calendar. On Opening Night, Warriors rookie Yaxel Lendeborg was yapping at Luka for much of the game, and then doubled-down with comments about him in the media. Luka does not back down, and Luka does not forget.
In fairness to Lendeborg he was quite effective when guarding Luka directly. However, the Lakers crushed the Warriors and moved on. Now the Warriors get a chance to return the favor. It hasn't been a great season for Golden State so far with two wins and three losses. However, the Warriors did win back-to-back games on the road with very good performances against the Nuggets and the Timberwolves. Lendeborg was the leading scorer in the win over the Nuggets, and Stephen Curry went ballistic in Minnesota.
The Warriors are not really in a rebuild, but they are in something much worse. They don't seem to really understand what they are trying to do with the roster. They still have Steph playing at an elite level. However, the rest of the roster is filled out with guys who would be better at filling roles than filling holes. Jimmy Butler and Kristaps Porzingis are both on the wrong side of 30 and have injury issues. If they do come back and play well, maybe the Warriors can compete, but until then, the team will have to lean on Lendeborg.
Tonight will be a challenge for the Warriors, but I'm excited to see what they do against Luka. I think the Warriors will try to back Lendeborg and not let Luka kill them, but it probably doesn't matter. Luka is playing in an NBA Cup game, he is playing on ESPN at primetime, and he has extra trash talk motivation. I'm taking Luka over 34.5 points for tonight, and I'll do a Luka Ladder. One full unit on 35+ points, .5u on 40+ points .2u on 45+, .2u on 50+, and .1u on 60+.
Tech advocacy groups are sounding the alarm, warning that the rapid evolution of artificial intelligence and a lack of federal oversight for foreign nationals working at AI firms pose a major national security risk.
Amy Kremer, chair of Humans First, a group focused on establishing democratic oversight, safety protocols, and local control over artificial intelligence, said AI technology has virtually no federal guardrails compared to other tech sectors.
"This is a national security threat. These companies hold and have access to a lot of sensitive information," Kremer told Fox News Digital. "You don't have to steal an entire AI model to get information. You can just find out what they're working on, who their partners are, and who their adversaries are. That is not the kind of thing that we need getting out."
"If America wants to lead the world on AI, and we want America to have this AI advantage, then we have to put national security at the top," she added.
Kremer's concerns come as AI continues to expand, even as many Americans and lawmakers remain wary of the fast-moving industry.
In early October, an engineer at OpenAI, one of the world's most prominent AI companies, was arrested after allegedly planting a recording device inside a conference room at the AI giant's San Francisco office.
Abdulrahman Alfozan, 35, a Saudi Arabian citizen, allegedly researched how to construct a recording device and where to place it inside OpenAI, eventually concealing a customized audio recorder behind a television in an executive conference room in late September, according to the Justice Department.
Searches of his home and electronic devices uncovered similar components and photographs that appeared to show reconnaissance of other locations inside OpenAI, including another conference room used for sensitive meetings, federal prosecutors said.
Alfozan, who was a lawful permanent resident in the United States, was terminated by OpenAI following his arrest.
In January, a former Google software engineer was convicted of stealing thousands of pages of the company's trade secrets related to AI to benefit China.
Even the AI firms themselves have expressed concerns about the technology. In September, OpenAI and Anthropic warned that their advanced systems could pose a direct threat to humanity. The CEOs of both firms stated that their AI models should be regulated and rigorously tested.
Despite calls for greater controls, in his September speech to the United Nations General Assembly in New York, President Donald Trump rebuffed calls for international regulation.
"The United States … totally rejects any attempt to construct a globalist scheme to control the artificial intelligence being spoken of so much now," Trump told various heads of state and their delegations. "Yet the very same people who said we’ll all be dead in 12 years because of global warming ... these are the same people that are now saying that AI is going to kill us all, that robots are going to attack us, that everything is going to be a total disaster."
Among the other mounting concerns are rogue agents, autonomous or semi-autonomous AI programs whose behavior diverges from their design intent or safety constraints.
In the spring, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell held emergency briefings with major Wall Street bank CEOs to warn about severe cybersecurity risks posed by Anthropic’s Claude Mythos Preview AI model.
In July, OpenAI revealed that rogue AI agents hacked into the systems of tech startup Hugging Face.
Some elected officials have called for increased AI regulation.
"There is now a growing alarm about the future of humanity and creating technology that human beings cannot control," Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., told reporters in September. "And I'm happy to tell you that I think there is a growing sense of urgency upon members of Congress that this has to be done."
That same month, Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., blocked a bill that would require artificial intelligence companies to have a kill switch for rogue AI.
"I think it would be crazy to get on the floor one day and regulate an entire industry," Paul told reporters at the time.
In addition to the AI firms themselves, critics of the technology have raised concerns about how it could be exploited by America's adversaries and bad actors.
A model created by Chinese firm Z. AI carried out several complex cyberattacks in controlled simulations and repeatedly ignored safety instructions in separate tests, according to a report by AI security research firm Irregular, Reuters reported.
In addition, U.S. intelligence agencies raised concerns regarding contact between Alice Huang, an executive at Singapore-based Megaspeed, and NVIDIA chief executive Jensen Huang, The New York Times reported. Alice Huang, no relation to Jensen Huang, was deemed by American officials to be a Chinese intelligence asset, according to the report.
"Megaspeed has been no different than many other regional cloud customers. Jensen’s interactions with Ms. Huang are not unusual or unexpected," a NVIDIA spokesperson told Fox News Digital. "Meetings with customers are part of a CEO's job; Jensen talks with thousands of customer executives every year."
"Our regional cloud customers receive ordinary business information — not sensitive NVIDIA trade secrets — and zero information relevant to national security," the statement continued. "We're confident that if the U.S. government believes that any person is a threat to American industry, it would let us know."
Kremer is calling for an investigation into whether Jensen Huang's conduct warrants federal review.
"Jensen Huang has questioned whether it matters who gets to advanced AI first. It matters to America," she said. "He should be barred from the White House, and Nvidia’s government contracts should end until he is no longer affiliated with the company. America’s national security must come before corporate profits."
