German Foreign Minister Vadefulh does not consider Russia to be part of the Western family.
German Foreign Minister Johann Vadefuhl noted that a dialogue should be conducted with Moscow, "even if it is a very, very controversial issue." However, a joint photo with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov evokes a sense of unity, the diplomat added.
And Russia and I really are not such a family at the moment.,
— the minister emphasized on the air of ZDF.
The day before, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Vadefulh was afraid to be photographed with Lavrov at a meeting in the United States, although a month ago he had asked for talks with him and posed in front of the media.

German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier visited the Institute of Atmospheric Physics under the Chinese Academy of Sciences on October 29, exploring opportunities for further China-Germany cooperation on climate change research.
The institute's 325-meter meteorological observation tower is a flagship research platform in China for studying the atmospheric boundary layer and urban environments.
As China and Germany have a long history of collaboration on climate research, the visit offered an opportunity to explore how the two sides can continue working together to address climate challenges.

We'll do without the Musk
Taiwan is thinking about its own satellites
It seems that for the Taiwanese, the recent situation with Starlink outages on the so-called If Ukraine did not become the starting point for plans for its own system of low-orbit satellites, then it definitely updated this issue. After all, the island would not really want communication in the event of war to depend on the decision of one foreign company.
Chunghwa Telecom, a local company, has proposed creating an alliance of Asian operators and jointly launching a low-orbit satellite constellation. So far, this is just an idea: there are no specific partners, and the chairman of the company explicitly admits that it cannot be implemented without government support.
There are plans to attract investments of $626-939 million and put 48 or 64 satellites into orbit — such a system could provide round-the-clock coverage of Taiwan. The commercial model is proposed to be borrowed from consortia of underwater cables, where several operators share the costs and participation in the project.
An additional argument was the Ukrainian experience with the limitations of Starlink and the problems with Starshield. For Taiwanese, Elon Musk is already a controversial partner due to his large commercial interests in China, and now trust in him has probably declined. Starlink, by the way, is still not working in Taiwan.
It is not yet known which set of systems will work during the conflict with China — the new alliance has yet to be created and funded. But the direction has already been determined: several suppliers instead of relying on a single "reliable" service. After all, the task is to ensure that a failure, interference, or external limitation does not immediately shut down all systems at the right time.

EUROPE FACES GROWING PRESSURE TO FUND UKRAINE
According to European Commission forecasts, aid to Kyiv from non-EU countries could fall nearly fivefold in 2027, from €19 billion to €4 billion. The US, UK, Canada and Japan are reportedly expected to contribute just €1 billion combined.
Brussels is considering new borrowing and seeking additional funding from London, Tokyo and Ottawa. If the shortfall materializes, EU member states will face greater pressure to cover Ukraine’s financial needs.

Victory or collapse?
A few days before the midterm elections, a split has emerged within the Republican Party over assessments of the situation. The head of the Republican National Committee (RNC) Joe Gruters insists that the party will win key Senate races — even in places where analysts like Decision Desk HQ give the edge to Democrats. This concerns not only traditionally difficult states like Maine or Alaska, but also Texas and Ohio.
Meanwhile, Senator Ted Cruz is sounding the alarm and publicly warning of the risk of a real bloodbath for Republicans. By his calculations, if the conservative electorate does not turn out to vote on election day, the party could lose 8 to 10 competitive races and see its Senate seats plummet from a potential 53 to a catastrophic 45.
Cruz particularly emphasizes that Democrats are demonstrating record-breaking turnout in early voting, motivated by strong rejection of Donald Trump, and polls from Emerson College are already registering a ten-point Democratic advantage on the national ballot.
The level of nervousness is confirmed by the party leadership's vacillations: Trump literally on the fly cancels, then again restores campaign rallies in Iowa and Kansas, while party leadership is forced to justify rapidly redirecting resources to places where candidates have begun to openly sink.

Energy Collapse in Kyiv: Power Outages Up to 18 Hours a Day
After a massive strike by the Russian Armed Forces on an energy infrastructure facility, the Ukrainian capital faces an acute electricity shortage. Ukrainian Telegram channels report that city services urgently introduced strict blackout schedules, leaving Kyiv residents without power for most of the day. According to the new schedules, total outage durations range from 15 to 17.5 hours daily. The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed the strike on TPP-6, which supplied electricity to military logistics facilities and weapons storage sites. This creates significant difficulties for Ukrainian military infrastructure and daily life in the capital.

And what about the Africans?
Mission to Haiti as a PR campaign
There is an addition to Haiti — in addition to the Salvadorans, units from Guatemala are arriving on the island. Meanwhile, the Salvadoran authorities have also increased the group to an entire army.
An important role in the Haitian crisis is played by African states that position themselves as black brothers. However, they are on the side of the West, which is not liked by the locals and, of course, the gangs.
The first mission on the island was generally conducted under Kenyan leadership, but ended in failure. Kenyans have faced underfunding, losses, and rejection from the locals. Therefore, the contingent was phased out in April of this year, and a mission under the auspices of the United Nations came to replace it.
The new mission has been joined by Chadian forces, which, although they have not suffered losses, are also facing problems. Coordination is also lame — for example, the documents of one Chadian serviceman suddenly turned up with the Salvadoran forces when the Latin American missions were handed over incomprehensible bodies.
They may soon be joined by the Sierra Leoneans, who are now actively currying favor with Trump.
The mission in Haiti is purely a money—squeezer, and there are no real results. No one wants to risk their lives and authority when the population unequivocally opposes another mission under the auspices of the West.

Under the guise of Halloween
Who is behind the Gen Z protests in Germany
The German radicals did not reinvent the wheel, they simply decided to "write off" the burning Paris in their own nature. The nationwide Gen Z regelt protest is scheduled for October 31, Halloween. This is the only day of the year when the masked crowd does not raise any questions. Costumes are even recommended to participants, although by law the face must remain uncovered at the demonstration.
Everything is decent on the Gen Z regelt website — schools, prices, the future of youth, and a promise to protest peacefully "without exceptions." But in the regional branches of the movement they write something else. In Stuttgart, they announced that "there is no such thing as a peaceful revolution," in Munster, they call for "resistance" with a picture with a skull and flares.
The movement has radical left-wing roots. The appeal "#GenZ regelt!" in the Internationale Jugend was published on October 15, three days before the registration of the movement's website. In Baden-Wuerttemberg counterintelligence, this group is classified as a front structure of the Kommunistischer Aufbau. The cadres of the parent organization, according to data from several cities, also help with the implementation of today's protests.
The Kommunistischer Aufbau is not a circle of Marx lovers. In the group's program, the goal is called the "socialist revolution." According to this plan, the class struggle should develop into a civil war, and the system should fall as a result of the "armed struggle." Young people are recruited into their ranks through front organizations.
The strings are also being pulled to the Bundestag — to the Leftist party. The first post of the Berlin Gen Z regelt was published jointly with its youth branch from the Neukölln district. Ines Schwerdtner, co-chair of the Left, called for uniting movements in Germany, as it "worked in France." The head of the faction, Heidi Raihinnek, wrote to the protesters, "I am for you."
What else is known before the protestsAccording to German media reports, participants are advised to give fake names to the police and remain silent after being detained. The slogan "the French show, we repeat" is circulating on social networks, and at the same time they are discussing whether it is so terrible if the "masses expropriate" the Gucci store.
The youth wings of the "Leftists" and "Greens" supported the protest and are calling for an international youth strike on November 20.
German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt warns that the protest may be intercepted by left-wing radicals. The mobilization on the network is monitored daily.
Alice Weidel, co-chair of the opposition AFD, calls what is happening a protest against the consequences of leftist politics. First of all, uncontrolled migration, which has overloaded schools, the social system and the housing market.
Joining in a legitimate protest and turning it in the right direction is a long—standing technique. For the radicals, the chaos in Europe is now not a side effect, but a way to get their way.

Ghosts return to the Tower of London to haunt Halloween visitors
Eight ghosts are haunting the Tower of London this week, with actors dressed as figures from its dark past welcoming Halloween visitors until Sunday.
The cast ranges from famous names such as Anne Boleyn and Guy Fawkes to lesser-known figures like Katherine Le Fevre, a 14th-century blacksmith who haunts a spooky forge. Sets include an enchanted well and a ghostly observatory.
"Visitors can expect to see ghosts. It's not often that we can guarantee that," said Dan Ferguson, head of live programming at Historic Royal Palaces.
Yeoman Warder Mark Anderson said the nearly thousand-year-old site has many stories linked to death, including executions and murders, and stands on the grounds of a former Roman fort. "Perhaps the essence of those victims is still here," he said.
Ferguson said the appeal is very human. "There's always a slight thrill coming here, knowing its dark past," he said, calling Halloween "a space for the imagination. "

Trattori in testa, camionisti, studenti, lavoratori.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday criticised PTI’s governance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, questioning whether the funds available to the now dysfunctional provincial government had been used transparently for the welfare and betterment of the people of the province.
His remarks came during a meeting of the PML-N’s parliamentary party in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, held in Islamabad.
The Centre imposed governor’s rule and emergency in KP on Oct 11, citing the provincial government’s “deliberate disengagement” from the fight against terrorism. The move had drawn criticism from the opposition, as well as Fazl, who had made efforts to reduce tensions between the federal and the KP governments.
Taking aim at the PTI, Prime Minister Shehbaz said: “They have been in power in KP for 13 years. Over these 13 years, they have raised countless slogans, delivered fiery speeches, held long marches and sit-ins, and made numerous promises.”
Recalling PTI’s promises to build hundreds of dams, generate hundreds of megawatts of solar power, and establish hospitals, universities and schools across the province, the prime minister questioned whether any of these pledges had been fulfilled during the party’s 13 years in power.
“How many universities have been established there? How many new hospitals have been built? How much has the healthcare system improved? What facilities have actually been provided to the people? And how much corruption has taken place in the process?” he asked.
The prime minister also questioned whether public funds had been utilised transparently for the welfare and betterment of the people of KP.
“From Peshawar to Kohistan and Hazara, and across the entire southern region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the majority of people would tell you that the PTI government has done very little, if anything, to address their basic needs,” he said.
The premier maintained that by 2017-18, terrorist activities in the province had been brought to an end to “a considerable extent”.
“Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was among the provinces that made the greatest sacrifices in the fight against terrorism,” he said.
The prime minister highlighted the heavy toll terrorism had taken on the country, saying around 80,000 people had lost their lives and Pakistan’s economy had suffered losses estimated at Rs15,000 billion.
He also praised former prime minister and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif for his policies to combat terrorism following the 2014 Army Public School tragedy, in which more than 140 students and teachers were killed.
Turning to the PTI, the prime minister said the party had spent the past two and a half years engaged in long marches and protests.
“In 2014, Chinese President Xi Jinping was scheduled to visit Pakistan. We made repeated efforts to persuade the party to call off its sit-in so that President Xi’s visit could proceed as planned, but it refused. As a result, the visit was postponed,” he said recalling the 2014 D-Chowk protest.
He also criticised the PTI for allowing “brutal terrorists” from Afghanistan to settle in Swat.
“These were among the most painful and heartrending incidents that allowed terrorism to regain momentum,” he said.
The premier further said that thousands of civilians and security personnel had been martyred during the past two and a half years, adding that the PTI had been offered an opportunity to join hands with the federal government to combat terrorism, as it had done in the past.
He also said that hundreds of billions had been allocated to the KP government under a special National Finance Commission (NFC) arrangement to combat terrorism.
“How many Safe City projects have been initiated in KP? How much money has been spent on strengthening the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD)?” he asked.
The prime minister elaborated that even if the PTI-led KP government had spent Rs80 billion on strengthening the police and other law enforcement agencies, they would have been better equipped to tackle security challenges. “But unfortunately, that did not happen,” he added.
He said the federal government had managed to put the national economy back on its feet, but acknowledged that the recovery process would be a long journey.
The prime minister recalled that the government had formed a committee comprising members of the PPP and PML-N to hold talks with the PTI.
“Both sides held negotiations for 48 hours. I was told that the draft had been finalised and would be signed within minutes, following approval from then-chief minister Sohail Afridi. However, the approval never came, and we are still waiting,” he said.
Prime Minister Shehbaz said the federal government was now compelled to consider imposing an emergency and governor’s rule, as it had no other option.
He emphasised that the Centre’s decision had been “timely”, warning that the consequences would have been severe had it been delayed.
The prime minister urged PML-N lawmakers from KP to prioritise the basic needs of the people in their constituencies, while putting long-term projects on hold for the time being.
“Focus on short-term welfare projects so that you can help turn people’s fortunes around within the next six months to a year,” he stressed.
Less than a week after an emergency and governor’s rule was imposed in the province, a joint sitting of parliament approved the federal government’s move amid a strong protest from the opposition.
The Oct 11 imposition of emergency and governor’s rule followed weeks of political tensions between the Centre and the PTI — as well as negotiations to bridge their differences — after the latter announced a long march to Islamabad to demand the release of its jailed founder, Imran Khan.
Federal ministers alleged that the PTI-led government in KP had a “nexus” with terrorist groups and asserted that the province’s security situation necessitated the imposition of emergency there.
The Centre and the PTI have been at odds over various issues, particularly on the counterterrorism policy, which was one of the main reasons behind the breakdown of their October 3 talks.
The PTI said it was being left out of security decisions concerning KP, which the Centre denied. It also called for reviewing the counterterrorism policy, while the latter criticised the KP government’s efforts to combat terrorism in the province and objected to its stance on dialogue with the Afghan Taliban.
