Lawyers for Marist Brothers face questions over advice to keep serial offender out of ‘legal arena’

29 October 2026 at 14:00

A once-confidential letter says child sexual abuser might implicate senior church officials if allowed near ‘the legal arena’ upon his release from jail

Lawyers from a leading law firm for the Marist Brothers have been subpoenaed to explain a once-confidential document showing they advised the Catholic order to keep a serial offender out of “the legal arena”, suggesting he was too honest and might implicate senior church officials.

The offender was “regrettably up front” about his interactions with senior leadership, and could not be trusted to heed “suggestions” about “not dumping on others excessively”, the document says.

Pakistan’s top court upholds Christian man’s death sentence for blasphemy

27 October 2026 at 14:48

Shock and anger greeted the Pakistani Supreme Court's decision to uphold the conviction and death sentence of a Christian man accused of blasphemy against the Prophet Muhammad.

Supporters say the decision has far-reaching implications for human rights in Pakistan and for the country's standing on the international stage. The Open Doors 2026 World Watch List included the Asian nation in its top 10 list of countries where Christians face the most extreme persecution.

CeCe Heil, senior counsel and international legal director for the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ), told Fox News Digital the case against brothers Amoon and Qaisar Ayub began in 2014.

AMERICANS TRAVEL TO PAKISTAN TO FREE CHRISTIANS TRAPPED IN MODERN-DAY SLAVERY: 'GOD'S HAND WAS IN IT'

Qaisar was arrested after a WordPress site displayed the Ayub brothers’ contact information and shared content that insulted the Prophet Muhammad. Amoon was arrested the following year. Heil says that in the 12 years of legal wrangling that followed, the Pakistani legal system has never presented evidence proving that either brother was truly affiliated with the offending WordPress blog site.

The ACLJ, through its Pakistani counterpart, the Organization for Legal Aid (OLA), began representing Amoon shortly after his arrest in 2015. Both brothers were sentenced to death in 2018. They unsuccessfully sought appeal in the Lahore High Court in 2022. After a continuation at the Supreme Court in 2025, Qaisar asked the OLA to represent him.

Following years of arguments and 13 postponed hearings, an Oct. 7 verdict from the Supreme Court saw Amoon acquitted after some 10 years in prison, while Qaisar’s conviction and death sentence was upheld.

Heil said a threatening atmosphere now attends many blasphemy hearings, where she says "mobs" commonly show up in courtrooms.

In one trial, she said a mob filmed themselves saying that "if the judge does not enforce death by hanging, we will kill him by our own hands." She said another video shows a prominent lawyer involved in numerous blasphemy cases celebrating the 15-year journey that led to Qaisar’s sentencing. A translation of the description reads, "There is only one punishment for one who insults the Prophet: The death penalty for Qaisar Ayub."

Heil said the precedent set by the Supreme Court’s decision could impact "every single person that is sitting in prison right now on blasphemy charges," which includes at least three OLA clients.

Other Christian men facing death include Shahzad Masih, who was 16 years old when he was accused of blasphemy in 2017. He was sentenced to death five years later. His appeals have repeatedly been postponed since 2022.

Intizar Masih is awaiting trial for a blasphemous post he is said to have shared on WhatsApp in 2023. Ahsan Masih was accused of posting blasphemous content to TikTok in 2023, and was sentenced to death the following year. His appeal hearings have also been postponed.

The OLA plans to file a review petition with the Supreme Court as early as this week, addressing the lack of evidence convicting Qaisar. They also plan to reach out directly to the Government of Pakistan to request support, including a presidential pardon for Qaisar.

Heil said she finds it "very strange" for a country posturing itself as a "more tolerant" negotiator between world powers in the ongoing conflict in Iran to fail to protect the religious freedoms of its people.

CHRISTIAN FARMING COMMUNITIES UNDER SIEGE AS US REPORT NAMES FULANI MILITANTS NIGERIA'S DEADLIEST THREAT

The Pakistani Embassy in Washington, D.C., did not respond to Fox News Digital’s questions about the possibility of a presidential pardon for Qaisar, or whether the Supreme Court’s decision could impact Pakistan’s perception in the West, or if justice can prevail in courtrooms mobbed with threatening onlookers.

A State Department spokesperson told Fox News Digital that the U.S. "is concerned about religious freedom in Pakistan and throughout the world" and "we regularly discuss this concern with Pakistan, as we would with any country."

Heil said the ACLJ has requested that Morris Tidball-Binz, the United Nations special rapporteur on extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions, intercede on Qaisar’s behalf.

Tidball-Binz did not respond to Fox News Digital’s questions about whether he held concerns about the precedent set by the Supreme Court upholding Qaisar’s conviction.

The Human Rights Council secretariat provided a letter that Tidball-Binz and other U.N. officials wrote to the Government of Pakistan in September 2025, emphasizing their concerns about the cases of the Ayub brothers and Shahazad Masih.

It stated, "Without making any judgment as to the accuracy of the information made available to us, we would like to express our grave concern about the imposition of the mandatory death penalty for blasphemy related charges against Mr. Shahzad Masih, Mr. Qaiser Ayub and Mr. Amoon Ayub, despite an apparent lack of conclusive evidence against them for acts and for offenses which do not qualify as ‘most serious crimes.’"

The U.N. officials concluded, "If the above allegations prove to be accurate, they would be in contravention of Mr. Shahazad Masih´s, Mr. Qaiser Ayub’s and Mr. Amoon Ayub’s rights to life, not to be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment, not to be deprived arbitrarily of their liberty and to be afforded fair proceedings before an independent and impartial tribunal, to freedom of thought, conscience and religion or belief, the right to express their opinion in a peaceful manner and the right to be equal before the law and are entitled to the equal protection of the law without any discrimination."

The Government of Pakistan responded earlier this year, and outlined how "Under Pakistan's Constitution, such matters fall within the judicial domain, and the Executive is constitutionally prohibited from intervening in individual cases."

Entretanto, a realidade brasileira adquiriu características próprias.

Archaeologists Uncover Lost 1,600-Year-Old Cathedral Near Venice

17 October 2026 at 07:02

Excavations at the ancient Roman city of Altinum have revealed the probable remains of an early Christian cathedral and bishop’s palace, offering new evidence about the origins of Venice and the transformation of its lagoon settlements.

Archaeologists working near Venice have identified what they believe to be the remains of a 1,600-year-old cathedral and an adjoining episcopal palace, resolving a longstanding question about the location of one of the region’s earliest Christian centres.

The discovery was announced on 15 October by Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, following excavations at Altinum, an important Roman settlement on the mainland near the Venetian lagoon. The foundations of a substantial religious complex have emerged from an area where ancient written accounts had long indicated the existence of a cathedral, although its precise location had remained unknown.

The findings suggest that the church was constructed between the late fourth and early fifth centuries AD, making it the earliest Christian church so far identified archaeologically in the Venetian territory. The researchers believe the complex provides physical evidence of the period when Christianity was becoming an important political and administrative force in the declining Roman Empire.

A Cathedral Hidden Beneath a Roman City

The newly identified church was a rectangular structure approximately 30 metres long and 20 metres wide, without an apse and orientated towards the east. Its layout differs from the surrounding Roman street grid, reflecting the religious requirements of the early Christian community.

The architectural arrangement resembles early churches in the northern Adriatic region, particularly those associated with Aquileia, which was an important centre of Christianity during late antiquity.

An adjoining building, distinguished by its substantial foundations and a complex arrangement of internal rooms, has been provisionally identified as the bishop’s palace. Archaeologists believe it may have stood two storeys high, with residential accommodation for senior clergy above rooms potentially associated with privileged burials.

Among the most revealing discoveries is the extensive reuse of stone paving blocks taken from the Roman streets. These materials were incorporated into the foundations of the ecclesiastical buildings, providing evidence of how the city was being physically reorganised during the transition from Roman to Christian administration.

The university’s researchers suggest that the removal of public paving materials may also indicate the authority exercised by the bishop over urban infrastructure. This interpretation would place the emerging Church at the centre of the city’s political transformation.

Ancient Written Accounts Supported by Archaeology

The existence of an early Christian cathedral at Altinum had been documented in letters written by Saint Jerome, one of the most influential Christian scholars of the late Roman period.

Writing in AD 396, Jerome referred to the religious activities of Nepotian, a priest associated with Heliodorus, the first bishop of Altinum. His descriptions included the maintenance of church furnishings, walls, floors and sacred vessels, suggesting an established and relatively prosperous Christian institution.

Until now, however, archaeologists had struggled to connect those accounts to a particular building.

The latest excavations, combining evidence collected during the 2025 and 2026 campaigns, have provided what researchers consider a convincing identification of the ecclesiastical complex.

The excavation is directed by Diego Calaon of Ca’ Foscari University and co-directed by Elisa Possenti of the University of Trento. Their work has brought together earlier archaeological records and newly examined foundations, including sections exposed during investigations in previous decades.

Researchers have also identified a burial area dating from the sixth and seventh centuries. Many graves were disturbed when construction materials were removed from the abandoned complex, but surviving human remains offer opportunities for further scientific investigation.

Radiocarbon dating, anthropological examinations and additional geophysical surveys are planned to establish a more detailed chronology and search for other elements of the religious complex, including its baptistery.

What the Discovery Reveals About Venice’s Origins

The historical importance of Altinum extends beyond the cathedral itself.

The ancient settlement was an important Roman commercial centre with connections to the waterways of the northern Adriatic. As political, environmental and demographic conditions changed during late antiquity, its population and institutions gradually shifted towards settlements within the lagoon.

One of the most important destinations was Torcello, which later became an early centre of Venetian civilisation.

Traditional accounts have often portrayed the creation of lagoon settlements as a response to barbarian invasions, with mainland inhabitants fleeing to isolated islands for protection.

The latest archaeological findings support a more complicated process.

Research at Altinum and Torcello indicates that the movement of people, religious institutions and construction materials was gradual and organised rather than the consequence of a single catastrophic event.

The cathedral appears to have been systematically dismantled during the first half of the seventh century, with substantial quantities of its stone and brick transferred to developing lagoon communities.

A surviving inscription records the establishment of Torcello’s cathedral in AD 639, providing an important chronological reference for the movement of ecclesiastical authority.

The findings add to the wider study of Europe’s surviving archaeological and architectural heritage, particularly the transformation of Roman settlements into medieval urban centres.

They also demonstrate how archaeological evidence can challenge historical narratives constructed centuries after the events they describe.

Much of the late-antique landscape at Altinum disappeared because of centuries of agricultural activity and the systematic removal of reusable building materials. In many cases, the excavators are studying trenches left by the extraction of foundations rather than surviving walls.

Further investigations may determine the complete extent of the episcopal complex and clarify the chronology of its abandonment.

For the first time, however, researchers can locate the religious buildings associated with Altinum’s earliest Christian bishops and trace their connection to the communities from which medieval Venice eventually emerged.

Another alleged UFO like Ophanim-Angels in the new Batch of Pentagon Declassified Documents

The Pentagon showed videos of “UFOs” — they were published in a new batch of declassified documents.

The first shows a six-pointed star that was seen in the Indo-Pacific region in 2025. Judging by the footage, she was moving smoothly.

This is very similar to a previous UAP (Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon) posted below that supported the “Ophanim theory” which clamis that these apparitions of aliens are a kind of epiphanies of biblical angels (read details below in this investigation)

In the second footage in the above video we can see a strange “transformer” with a height of 3.6 to 4.5 meters was filmed over the Atlantic Ocean in 2020. The footage shows a figure with a powerful jetpack.

The Pentagon has released the first batch of UFO materials promised by Trump

The US Department of War has launched a dedicated portal that makes previously classified US government documents, photographs, and videos, as well as eyewitness accounts of unidentified anomalous phenomena, publicly available.

This is the first major wave of declassification under the presidential PURSUE program.

As is known, Trump previously personally ordered a campaign to declassify such materials as much as possible. The publication of classified documents is expected to continue on a regular basis. The portal notes that the published materials represent “unresolved cases whose nature the US government is not yet in a position to definitively determine. “

A total of 162 documents have already been published, as the video below…

«The Pentagon clarified that this data does not confirm the existence of an extraterrestrial civilization, and that people “will be able to draw their own conclusions” regarding the recorded anomalous phenomena» Maxim Svetlyshev wrote on TopWar and News-Pravda

Among other things, the website published, for example, the operator’s testimony. drone, which in September 2023 reported spotting an unidentified object in the sky emitting a very bright light, and other similar materials. According to Congressman Tim Burchett, the UFO materials already released by the Pentagon represent only a small portion of the overall data set—the most “astonishing part” is yet to come.

Biblical Angel in UFO Files? Video of ‘8-Pointed Star inspires “Ophanim’ Theories” by Ana Paulina Luna

A newly declassified Pentagon UFO video is fueling massive online speculation after appearing to show a mysterious “eight-pointed star” object floating across the sky.

The infrared footage, captured by US Central Command personnel in 2013, was released as part of the Trump administration’s major UFO disclosure push through the WAR.GOV database.

Shortly after the footage went public, Congresswoman Anna Paulina Luna posted a cryptic image of “OPHANIM,” referencing angelic beings described in ancient religious texts and the Dead Sea Scrolls.

During a House Oversight Committee hearing on Tuesday, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) asked UAP (unidentified anomalous phenomena) whistleblowers if a video showing an “orb” purportedly being struck by a hellfire missile scare them.

Biblical Ophanim Theory: from Ezekiel to Contemporary Interpretation on UFO

The bizarre connection has sparked intense debate online over whether the object could represent advanced technology, extraterrestrial life, or something even stranger (here and below AI info support).

Ezekiel Vision (Raphael – Oil on panel 1517-1518, Pitti Palace – Florence – Italy) on Merkaba aka Chariot mysticism

Ophanim (Hebrew for “wheels”) are celestial beings in Judeo-Christian theology described in Ezekiel’s vision (Ezekiel 1:15-21) as “wheels within wheels” covered in eyes, symbolizing God’s omnipresence, vigilance, and divine mobility.

They are part of the highest angelic hierarchy, often identified as the “Thrones” or “many-eyed ones,” functioning as guardians of the divine throne.

They appear in the Old Testament as shiny, beryl-like wheels that move in any direction without turning, synchronized with cherubim.

The Angels of Thrones depicted with Eye inside the Wheels

The numerous eyes represent omniscience and constant alertness, while their wheel-like form suggests active, moving governance of the universe by God.

They are commonly ranked as the third highest order of angels, specifically associated with the “Thrones”.

In the context of “Biblically Accurate Angels,” they are frequently depicted in popular media and art as complex, non-humanoid entities, contrasting heavily with human-like angelic depictions.

Engraved illustration of the “chariot vision” of the Biblical book of Ezekiel, chapter 1, made by Matthaeus (Matthäus) Merian (1593-1650), for his “Icones Biblicae” (a.k.a. “Iconum Biblicarum”).

Recently, some theories have linked the description of the Ophanim (and their depiction in the Dead Sea Scrolls) to accounts of UFOs or advanced, alien technology, due to their strange, glowing, and mobile nature.

Metropolitan Hilarion: “Aliens live in different realms and occasionally appear to humans as angels”

«According to Metropolitan Hilarion, aliens live in different realms and occasionally appear to humans as angels; it is useless to look for them on other worlds. The Russian Church previously rejected the idea of extraterrestrial civilizations» Mataeo Smith wrote on Express.US.

“If civilizations really existed on other planets, our Holy Scripture, the Bible, would definitely say something about that. If it doesn’t say anything about it, we assume that they don’t exist,” the Moscow Patriarchate Metropolitan Hilarion’s external church relations department stated.

He cited Orthodoxy and the Religion of the Future, a book written by Hieromonk Seraphim Rose, a well-known theologian of the Russian Church Abroad, to further his argument. Testimonies of persons who have seen aliens and UFOs are included in the book; the author compares these accounts to demon appearances, which “exist in abundance in hagiographic literature.”

“He proves in his book that people who have allegedly seen aliens really saw demons, whose existence many people now refuse to believe in,” Metropolitan Hilarion said.

The church believes in angels and demons “not because this is stated somewhere, but because it is confirmed by the centuries-old experience of church people,” he said.

Are Aliens Actually the Devilish Fallen Angels? A VIDEO Explaining Why It’s Very Likely…

We’ve been saying this for years these aren’t extraterrestrial beings from another planet, but created beings that are of this realm.

It’s the most scientific approach to understand these as demons and angels.

Vance recently proposed that it made sense to him that we are talking about angels and demons, not aliens from another planet.

Other guy recounts a government researcher who got pushback from higher-ups. Brass understood these not as aliens, but demons.

This may be the real disclosure but… read much more below!

The Physicist and Astronomer who explained that angels are entities that have existed for all of eternity as God’s messenger

«Some researchers claim that the Bible provides unmistakable proof that they have been present on our planet since the beginning of time. Scientists have been searching the universe for extraterrestrial life for decades» Mataeo Smith pointed out on Express.US.

Dr. Hugh Ross, a physicist and astronomer, presented a compelling argument in 2023 that angels are entities that have existed for all of eternity as God’s messengers and that they function similarly to other entities that are not limited to our “space-time dimensions.”

EUCHARIST AND PENTECOST: Supernatural Gifts of the LAST SUPPER and EASTER. The Revelations of the Gospels of the Apostles John and Matthew

Ross wrote in Salvo magazine, “According to the Bible, these creatures differ from humans in that they are not constrained by either the known laws of physics or the known space-time dimensions. Rather, they exist in a realm distinct from the universe, yet have been granted power to enter the human realm for brief episodes — either in physical or nonphysical form.“

According to the Bible, angels are God’s messengers and, if you will, ground troops who conduct God’s work. There are three categories: Seraphim, Cherubim, and “Living Creatures.”
